I'm glad that you are writting this because the present crop of Nigerian youths in their 20's,30's and even some in their 40's don't know a single thing about the history of Nigeria and this a tragedy. More than 80% of all Nigerians cannot articulate the cumulative chain of events that led to the war from the 1964 elections to end of the war. Many do not know what eastern Nigerian consultative assembly was or the part they played in in giving Ojukwu the mandate representing the 20 provinces of the Eastern region to declare Biafra. The entire civil war was just one concerted attempt to get at the Oil wealth of the Eastern region, nothing more. Nigeria was a fraud then, it is fraud now, it will always be a fraud until the the sovereignty is returned to the people. Awolowo and Gowon were just co-travellers state craft of deciet. Both men should have being arraigned at The Hague for the monumental and duplicitous fraud they committed in the name of "One Ngeria". Oh well, the good thing is that the future is more important than the past. In the future, we shall correct the wrongs of the past.
