Many of us would like to visit the United States or relocate, if given the opportunity.
In Nigeria, visa applications to most countries apart from the United States and some others I am not aware of, requires the submission of your supporting documents in person at their visa application centre and you are required to wait till you are contacted when your passport is ready for collection before knowing if you were granted the visa or not.

Unlike the United States visa application in Nigeria, where you know the result there and then because you are required to appear in person for a visa interview at the Embassy or Consulate General along with your supporting documents on the date of your scheduled appointment.

THERE IS NO NEED TO GO THROUGH AN AGENT!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! THIS IS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO YOURSELF 100%!!!

Most applicants fail to realise that the most important part of the application is the information provided when filling the visa application form. That is where the consular officer gets his/her information about the applicant and asks questions related to the information provided on the form. You should make sure you give precise information or details you are conversant with because most people sometimes do not fill in the right information about themselves, and also the ability to sound convincing enough with confidence matters a lot. Packaging is key!!!

Some would say you have to pray and fast for God to touch the heart of the consular officers. Yes, prayer is very important but while you are packaging your prayers do not forget to package your documents properly because the consular officers are also praying to do their jobs well.

There was an instance where a guy was complaining about being refused twice, one was a study visa application and the other, a visit visa. I asked why, and the reason was beacause, he had no strong ties with his home country and was not convincing enough that he will come back afterwards.
And after 6 months, he went for a study visa application (after being denied the visit visa) as an undergraduate. He applied for an undergraduate program which was the same with what he studied in Nigeria, meaning, he wants to obtain another bachelor’s degree in the same course in a US university. Who does that?
A top-up in the same course sounds more logical, or preferably, not mentioning the fact that he has an undergraduate degree and act like he was just going to study for the first time after high school or a diploma. But going for the same Bachelor's degree in the same area of specialization, haba, Nigeiran educational system is not that bad.

It is always advisable to apply for graduate programs if you already have a Bachelor's degree. Otherwise, prepare strong points to defend yourself when you are applying for a study visa as a student going for another Bachelor's degree in the US. Because the consular officers will always ask why you chose to go for another degree.
Applying as a student is also a better option if you have the intentions of not coming back as there are more opportunities for foreign students.

For people that have applied before, do know that, these consular officers have your details stored in their database, before you even get there they already know how to get you and how many times you have been at the embassy, whether you were rejected or not. Those guys are experts in their field.

I am not saying everyone who applied and was successful told the interviewer the whole truth about themselves. But I think that even if you are not going to be totally truthful, you should try to be very convincing and also make sure that you remember every information you filled on the application form.
Sometimes, during the interview, they do not ask for your supporting documents; they just ask for your passport, read through your application form and ask you all the necessary questions. Do not fill too much information that are not relevant, try to make it as simple as possible to avoid questions that will be difficult for you to answer. Who knows where the JAMB question will come from? Lol.

Some people will say, don't even bother applying if you are single as if being single is an automatic denial, that is not the case in every situation. If you are single and have a good job or business you have been running for quite a reasonable number of years, then I think you are good to go.

Travel experience is also very important, I would advise you try visiting other countries before applying for a US visa. When the consular officer sees that you have travelled to other countries and back to your home country, that can boost your chances as well. All they want to know is if you are going to come back home because they believe a person with strong ties to their home country would not want to abandon it for another country.

Do not go back a few months after being rejected with same set of documents, make sure there is a significant change in the situation before re-applying.

This is a true story from a friend of mine, I have seen the results myself, no be joke o... Anyways, I am sure some girls are already working out on that butt to make; most especially guys look at that behind countless times whenever they walk pass, for some to gain self confidence about their body and for some other reasons best known to them.
She did some research and also followed Khloe Kardashian workout activities and routines. All thanks to keeping up with the Kardashians reality TV show which made the family members a popular figure on social media and in most countries that are very exposed to the entertainment world. The supposedly dead Tupac Shakur has finally returned from Cuba after a long journey of 19 years away from the world. I wonder how he was able to pull this through for that long. Tupac Shakur is still alive, there have been rumours in the past that his death was staged. He is now admitting that he has been hiding the whole time after been brutally murdered at the age of 25. There was no funeral nor was there any record of a tribute or memorial. This story is still unclear regarding the reason why he was hiding the whole time.

Around Iceland there are plenty of beautiful places you can see. We have thousands of waterfalls, and no one knows exactly how many there are. The most famous waterfalls are Seljalandsfoss, Skógarfoss and Gullfoss, but there are others that are more beautiful, and that only Icelandic people know about.


Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is one of our biggest tourist attraction, where natural hot spring water flows through the lava fields of Reykjanes peninsula and the water is very healing and nurturing for your skin. In the lagoon there is also a restaurant and a bar, and you can enjoy an amazing arrangement of treatments from the lagoon spa.


Strokkur Geysers
We have a lot of beautiful geysers that erupt every couple of minutes and it is very pretty to watch. The most famous one is Geysir, but the English word geyser comes from its name. The one that most tourists want to see though is Strokkur, because it erupts more often.


Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
One of my favorite attraction is Seljavallalaug, which is a swimming pool in the middle of nowhere, and only Icelandic people know about it. That‘s why it‘s free of tourists and you can enjoy the warm water and amazing views in a middle of a mountain range. *Take note*

In Iceland there are a lot of rivers and you can go river rafting with a guide through many of them. Many of them are glacial rivers, so the stream is really fast, and it is really fun and demanding. Iceland also has a lot of arranged hiking trips, where you can go on top of Vatnajökull, Europe‘s biggest glacier, and all kinds of beautiful mountains. Up there you can also rent quadbikes and snowmobiles and have rallies on the glaciers or the mountains.

From the office Reykjavík Excursions (re.is) you can find all kinds of bus trips around Iceland where they stop at the major tourist places and have a guide to show you around.
One of the places everyone must visit when they come to Iceland is Þingvellir. It was where the lords of Iceland came for congress from all around Iceland, and it is really pretty. It is also often associated with the Norse gods, where the entrance to Valhalla was said to be at Þingvellir.

When to come?
Iceland is to some extent four different countries. The difference between seasons is so much, that if you would come in spring, you would see something entirely different than what you would see in summer.
Everything changes pretty fast when the seasons change and that’s why you’ll always see something new.
In the summer we have very mellow and good weather. Don’t be frightened by the temperature, the heat here, is not the same as the heat in France. If it’s 12 degrees here, it’s like having 20 degrees in France. If you want to come in the summer, hiking would be the best thing to do. Everything is very green and we have all kinds of flowers and colors that you don’t find anywhere else.
The 22nd-24th of June, there is no night. The sun sets for around three minutes, and then comes back up. That is caused by our northerly position, and that’s why you get amazing sunsets, and sunrises, just over a cup of hot cocoa. June is a fantastic time to visit if you want to see a lot of light and be able to go camping anywhere you want.


Nothern Lights
The Northern lights come out around the middle of September. However, this year, they started in August. The northern lights period is from September – early March, however, the best time to see them is usually February.
My favorite time to be in Iceland is around Christmas. That’s because it gets very dark, so every single house, restaurant and store has a lot of Christmas lights. The amount of color you see when you walk down the street is amazing. We also have no restrictions on the usage of fireworks during New Year’s Eve. All the people of Iceland buy fireworks, which the rescue squads of Iceland are only allowed to sell. Therefore you can buy a lot of beautiful fireworks, and support a good cause at the same time.

Transportation
Iceland has no trains, however we have a very good bus system that runs through our capital, Reykjavík, and goes all around the country. You would be able to reach all parts of the country with a bus or a coach.
We also have a lot of car rental companies that you can use. Car rental is fairly expensive in Iceland, but it’s really worth it if you would rent one. HINT: Have an Icelandic person call them and order them for you, or call yourself to get a better price. Do not order cars online.

Lol. I am not sure this will work for most of my Nigerian sisters but it sure will for some... We all want the glamour, endless shopping and all that comes with everything special for that day. *Its a one day thing, you have to put in all your best and all your money*. That's what we always tell ourselves. Well, yea, I couldn't agree less. But for those of us who do not have the very high or unlimited budget and need to have that day special and memorable. Here are a few tips but first of all, you have to plan and write a list of the things you want to do and buy on or before that day...

Be ready to do almost everything yourself which will make your wedding customized and classy to your own taste and i say 'almost' cos you are not alone. And you will be surprised how creative you are cos you would not want your 'once in a life time' ceremony to be a mess.

Choose a venue that is an almost free location, what matters is how well you decorate the place, i know you would love to take beautiful pictures that you would want to look at over and over again for the rest of your lives.

I trust our women, the ones that are well brought up in the kitchen by their mothers or fathers (very rare to find) who knows how to cook and the things needed can go to the market, buy the ingredients and food stuff yourself with a friend/family member who can help out which I think will save cost. Give them to a caterer (mama put was suggested) to prepare the dishes to avoid looking stressed on that special day. You can find a caterer who can cook, bake, prepare cocktails and all there is to eat and drink that day at an affordable price. An all in one package is usually cheaper than a single package with different people.

Shine bright like a diamond ring wearer. There are lots of gold, silver, bronze, platinum coated and the likes kind of accessories that are very affordable that does not fade out quickly. Before it fades out completely, there will be funds available for the one you have always dreamed of. After all, Marriage is a blessing, have faith. Somebody say Amen!

Thank God for internet, you can download music freely without paying for it if you are connected to make your own playlist. You can also get a less expensive upcoming DJ who would be happy to show his skills for the next wedding contract he will get from performing in yours.

You can either have a tailor sow your custom made wedding or rent an already made wedding gown. Both options are cost effective. The choice is yours...

Hair and Make-up, Hmmm... There are saloons everywhere. There is always one friend who can make, style hair and make-up. I am not saying you should use your friends to get free services but definitely you won't be paying that much for such if you have a good friend who knows how to do them. You can also be your own make-up artist, there are so many ladies who make up themselves perfectly you would think, they went for a make-up session.

Technology has evolved beyond our imaginations. There are smart phones and cameras that does it all and are at very affordable prices. All you need to do is get someone, there is always that friend who is very good at taking pictures, they can show their skills on that day. There are also very affordable photographers and videographers that can cover your wedding.

If you have good friends and family members, you can delegate some tasks to them.

You have to take your time, plan and search well, always ask questions and you will get that dream wedding of yours that won't blow your budget. Always remember, that very special day is all about You and your Partner...*winks*

When you hear about France, all that comes your mind is, Paris, the expensive city and all the assumptions about the country is that everything in it is expensive. Yea, well, the truth about it is, the standard of living is on the high side compared to some other countries. Yea well *rollseyes*, do you expect less from a beautiful country of love? Coming down the main topic here, studying in France in some of the top ranking universities in France are not as expensive as you may think and I mean spending thousands of euros especially when it comes to courses taught in English as France major spoken language is French. France is ranked among the top 20 countries in the world with good standard quality of education. There are very good standard universities that offer same tuition to foreigners and as well as their nationals which means you don't have to pay additional fees and you can find courses taught in English but not that many diversity of programs. There are also some universities that have age restrictions when it comes to the fees you have to pay and it differs from one university to another. Above a certain age, you will have to pay a higher tuition. For me, I think the reason why is because most of their nationals graduate between a certain age range and if coming to study from a particular age above the supposed age, then you should have more and meaningful work experience and money than the younger ones. *justsaying*

If you are also below the age of 26, you will receive so many benefits and reductions in which the government includes foreign students. For example, in Toulouse if you are below the age of 26, you pay 10euros/month for public transportation including the buses, metro and tram. Above 26 years old, you pay about 50euros/month. Every city has its own rules and regulations governing the transportation system, some of them have no age restriction but one thing for sure is, students always pay a very minimal amount possible.

The government also subsidizes the rental cost for all students both nationals and foreigners by paying part of the rent. For example, if your rent is 400euros/month, you will end up paying 250 - 270euros/month. It is all dependent on the calculation being made by the agency (CAF) handling such matters.
