Haven’t gotten the message about the counter foil stamp yet. Waiting on that part.

The transmission he's saying is the transmission of counterfoil stamp or other necessary stuff needed from the visa officer or the visa office that handled your application to lagos consulate unless if your case is different then they may request for your passport to Kenya (which is very very rare). highest, they would call you for an interview in lagos office and if you pass it, you will get your stamp passport instantaneously.

Yes I do know several applicants who experienced delay in getting their stamped visa passports back after an approval. It took 2 - 3 working days for their passport to be dispatched to the Visa application centre for collection.

As per your mom's case, it's the discretion of the embassy to select whether or not to transmit the passport to Kenya or stamp it in Nigeria, Victoria Island Lagos to be precise by using Kenya as the issuance office.

Do you know anyone who has done this? And if you do, how long after they sent the email did they receive their passport.

Also, my mum got her VISA in March in 4 days. Does this mean it went to Kenya and back in 4 days?

The delay is currently everywhere as temporary resident visas from Nigeria are handled and transmitted to Kenya for visa processing. Send a CSE to them through this email -
nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca and also the Lagos immigration office via this email lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca

I thought the VISAs were printed in Lagos and not sent to Kenya? I applied online and got an original passport request May 1st. I submitted my passport on the 3rd of May and since then nothing. Mine wasn’t a student VISA though. It was for a TRV but I’m just searching all the forums to see if I’m the only person experiencing this delay.

It appears the delay is real as I know of an applicant who submitted his passport 2 weeks ago and haven't received it back. Nonetheless, i advised the applicant to send a CSE to Kenya, Nairobi immigration office where the visa was processed, so they could expedite the transmission of his passport. I hope he will receive his passport next week. I would also suggest you do so as well.

PS: I can assist you with a sample of the mail you can send to them to hasten up the process.

I also submitted my passport and it’s been more than 10 working days since it’s been there with no tangible info. Can you please let me know how long yours took to pick up? It’s going on the 3rd week for me now. Submitted May 3rd, been to VFS several times and nothing!

I dropped off my passport May 3rd and still haven’t gotten it back. Went to VFS office yesterday just to check and it wasn’t there. I’m hoping I get it next week.

How long did it take you to pick up passport after you submitted your passport? I applied for my daughter on April 11, and passport request on May 9, submitted her passport May 10, which I always track and it still showing Passport still in process.

I know this doesn’t count for this thread but I think it will shed more light as to why Canada and the US are limiting people they give VISAs. We are our own problem! Next time anyone complains about not getting a VISA remember the people who made it hard for you to do so. Illegal immigration is NEVER the way! NEVER the way.

This question is one of the reasons why they aren’t giving people VISAs. No. You cannot relocate with a temporary resident Visa. Please apply for a PR Card. Don’t go and be an illegal immigrant!

This wasn’t necessary for me. I used my statements that I requested online via the banking app.

Im not applying for visa. Just saying before we give people advice that MIGHT backfire on them, lets be double sure. . .

If you need bank statement for visa, go to your bank, get it printed, stamped and signed.(then scan and upload it, for online applications) Every visa officer is looking for reasons not to give you visa, dont create one for yourself.

I just requested my statement online and uploaded what was sent to my email.

I read somewhere online that every time a VAC officer goes through your profile you get that update. Don’t know how true it is but it was on one of this Canadian immigration websites.

I checked my online account and it showed there is an update and when I clicked to see the update there is absolutely nothing. It still indicate the application is been processed. And now the update has changed to submitted. Has anyone experienced this?

So, i went to VFS to check on my passport and it’s still not ready. I went on Tuesday, today will make it two weeks since I submitted my passport for the VISA stamp. I’m not worried, just eager to leave so I can come back home in time to face work. I really need a break!

Someone asked me about bank statements, I downloaded them from my banking app and uploaded them online. I also got a letter from my account officer to verify my corporate accounts. I also included my tax statements to show I pay taxes in Nigeria.

My case is very peculiar and like I previously stated I will give details of my application once I have my passport in hand!

Like I said, it’s a long miraculous story. I didn’t submit another application before I got an OPR. Let’s just say their reasons for denial made no sense, I have a strong profile I went to high school and two years of uni in Canada before I moved to England where I graduated. I have strong family ties and bank account was pretty sweet. And they denied me twice based on family ties and finances then God stepped in.

Will explain in detail on Monday.

Okay so that means my passport hasn’t been stamped then and it’s still at the consulate. The VISA info hasn’t been updated on the CIC online portal.

I’m just asking questions so i’ll Know whether to bother to go on Monday.

Well if they requested for your passport it means you will be given the visa.
Same thing happened when I got my PR. They'll update it when the visa has been stamped.

Still shocked how it all went down. From two denials to original passport request (with a very solid strong profile as well). Will give details once VISA is in my hands

Also, does the online portal update your VISA info before they send it to VFS. My mum’s was updated with her VISA details (I applied for her in February online, her passport was collected almost a month after it was ready cause she was lazy so I can’t be sure when her visa was ready). I just remember they updated the VISA info online so I was wondering if this is done before the VISA is returned to VFS.

Would you suggest I just go to the VFS office to check if the VISA is ready? It’s literally a 3 minute walk from my house.

My case is very peculiar. it’s quite a long story that I don’t want to share until the passport is in my hand because it’s a too good to be true miraculous kind of story. I will go there on Monday and check. If it’s there I will tel you guys the full story.

It takes 3-5 business days on the average.

I submitted my passport last Friday after getting an Original passport request. Do you think it’ll be ready for pick up on Monday? (It’s been a week as of this Friday). I want to go to Canada next week as my new business venture starts in June and I need the break!
