Are you serious? That’s good . Please can you confirm what date in Jan’25 they’re in. I also applied Jan too and haven’t received too. 🙏🏽
The person didn't state the date, only the month and year was stated. Hopefully, it will get to your turn soon so just keep checking your mail regularly.

From your observation since vfs took over how long does it take for them to finish up 2 months. Like do they do it in one month
Sometimes, but it's often hard to predict as they don't usually stick to one pattern.

Please what date in Dec 2024 are they in now? And has anyone recently received AD?
I think they're in January 2025 now, they're through with 2024. I applied on 21st December 2024 and got AD yesterday, someone that applied in January 2025 also got AD yesterday.

Thank you for your prompt response.

This means i have to be there in person as opposed to someone doing it for me? Also do you have an idea on what the waiting period for the appointment for certification is so i can create a timeline for myself? i can’t seem to find information about it anywhere. Also if you do not mind i would like to connect with you privately as we are applying to the same school and you appear to have gone way ahead of me please.

Thank you so much once again.
Yeah, you have to be there in person. If you want to connect privately, just tap on my profile and send an email request. I will respond to you via email.

hello good morning. For visa appointment do I need to certify any of my academic documents.
Certification is only required depending on the school's requirements not a prerequisite for visa appointments.

hello, I am currently trying to apply to FAU, please how do I go about certifying at the embassy? did you book an appointment? if yes, how did you go about doing it? also was your application for admission done via uni assist?
Yes, you have to book an appointment at the Embassy. Check online for how to book an appointment for certification of academic documents at the German consulate, the information is on the Embassy website. And the whole process is free, you just need to go with your application form for the school, original documents and Photocopies of the originals then arrange them as stated on the website. Also, FAU doesn't require uniassist, you apply online via the school's application portal.

There are 2 options stated.

Nigeria is not a member of the Hague Convention.
I already got it certified at the Embassy. Thanks.

Hello everyone, please who has gotten admission into FAU recently either this year or last year?
Please did you notarize your documents using a notary public from the high court or was it done by the Embassy? I am asking because on the website it stated that it can generally only be provided by German embassies or apostille from countries that adopt the Hague convention.
I am confused on how to go about this, please I need answers from anyone that has done this recently and gotten admission from FAU. Thanks in advance.🙏

Alright, thanks for the response.👍
Harry4cas:
Make a photocopy of the required documents you were asked to certify, go to a high court with both the original and the photocopy of each documents and then get them to notarize your documents.

You can also do that at the embassy if you reside very close to the place.
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Deebeloved: 9:27am On Dec 11, 2025
I was required to upload certified copies of my documents during application so I wanted to know if it is necessary to certify my original documents at the Embassy or if I can just notarize it an high court.
Harry4cas:
I'm schooling there. What do you need help with?

No, I did not. I was not required to do that.

Hello everyone, please is there anyone who has applied for a master's program at FAU recently or is currently studying there?

emyyjapan:
The earliest you should be applying to is Winter semester 2026 which will start in October 2026 (Applications will open January 2026 for most schools)
That's your safest bet

Embassy Is still in July 2023, before they will even reach December 2023
Chances of them reaching December 2024 by this year is very minimal

And you have no business with the new portal anyway

If you get admission, enrol immediately,If you get your appointment after your school has resumed, you just need your enrollment letter for the next semester you're good to go

So just forget about this year, your target should be next year
Okay, thanks.

1. Yes, you have nothing to do with the new portal.

2. It's not really predictable now, it's best to just have an admission at hand.

3. Again, it's unpredictable, nobody knows. And I'm not exactly sure how the thing works, if the appointment date comes after resumption, you would either need admission for the next semester or some letter saying you can join later, idk, someone else can explain better.

4. I don't think it will matter, cause the waiting time was 2 years, so it'll be understandable you calculated with that time.
Oh okay, thanks. I really appreciate the response🙏

Hello everyone, this is going to be a long post so I am sorry in advance, please bear with me.
Firstly, I am grateful to all the kind and generous people on this platform who constantly share genuine and good advice regarding the whole visa processing.
As someone who has been silently observing this thread for the past two months to monitor visa updates, I am simply amazed by how selfless and encouraging people can be on here, it's really motivating. Thanks once again everyone.
Please I'd appreciate your kind inputs and advice, my questions are thus:
1.) I applied for Category B study visa for masters program on the 21st of December 2024, on the old platform and I got a reference number, of which I was told the waiting period was over a year. So, since I was sent a confirmation email that my booking was successful, I just want to be sure of this, I have no business with the new visa application portal, right?
2.) Also, since the waiting period was initially almost 2 years, I had mentally calculated that my appointment date would probably be sent around 2026, however as the updates here mentioned that the embassy was speeding up the process recently, I began to wonder if it won't be too late to wait for 2026 winter admission because my appointment date might have been sent before I get my admission letter, so I was considering applying this April for 2025 winter admission, which starts in October 2025 for my desired institution, is that a good choice?
3. Is there any slightest possibility that the embassy can actually get to December 2024 this year with the current pace? And if my appointment date is sent after my school has resumed for winter session, will my visa still be issued provided I have all the required documents?
4. I don't remember clearly, but I think when booking for the study visa appointment, based on my initial premonition about the waiting period, I had chosen October 2026 as intended start date for the winter admission, so if I gain admission for 2025 winter session instead and get my appointment date, will I be queried during the interview for writing a different start date or does it not matter?
I anticipate your kind responses and sorry once again for the long post. Thanks in advance.
