giselle237:
It shows desperation to apply again so soon without significant changes in your situation. Starting a business in January and then applying in February or March while quoting an annual salary is wrong. I wonder why you did that and how you arrived at 24 million because 2 million passed your account in January and February.
Also the ECO is right to be worried, in October this person claimed an employment- suddenly 3 to 4 months later- they are no longer in their employment and now they claim to have this huge highly successful business that can not be proven on paper.
An annual salary typically means a full 12 months of income, and it’s important to show how you calculated those figures. How did 2 months of 2m translate to annual income?

I gather that your spouse may not be able to bring dependents on their visa, which could explain the need for a visit visa. Unfortunately, without demonstrating adequate ties to Nigeria, your chances of approval are limited and non existent.
Consider encouraging your spouse to pursue a skilled work visa, which would allow them to sponsor you in the future. Alternatively, it might be wise to wait another 6 months to a year until your circumstances have genuinely changed before reapplying.
Another option could be for you and your spouse to meet in another country, or for your spouse to travel to Nigeria to see you.
These are your options. Avoid desperation. It is not about finances and flashing money to the ECO, you have no identifiable ties to Nigeria and as such- no visit visa will be given.
Will give it time as advised. Thank you.

This is the details of my question please.

For my first refusal (last year October) my wife was the sponsor and had sufficient balance as a student, but they refused the visa on the basis that my expenses exceeded my income, hence no proof of financial capacity. I was an employee then.

For this second refusal, I indicated I’ll cover all my expenses but my wife will sponsor with £500 as backup. They refused this on the basis that I indicated 24M annually as my business income and didn’t show how it was calculated. Also that there was no link between my business and personal account. I only included this because I make over 2M monthly, although I established the business in January (4 months now). I had over 12M in my business account and like 2M in my personal account. The business is active and registered in my name.

I want to apply a third time and thinking my wife should fully sponsor while I indicate that it’s to reduce the complications and also provide proof that I have good financial capacity. I intend to link my business account to my personal account by making personal deposits to myself twice before I apply, at least increasing my personal account to like 4M and also attach my business account. Please is this a good idea? I’ll really appreciate your advice @cashmadam and everyone🙏

Cashmadam:
Good afternoon. Sorry for the refusal.

1. First mistake. Your annual income is not N24Million. The N24Million you stated is the estimated annual turnover for your company. Turnover, income and profit are three different things.

2. Your business proof of funds will not be taken into consideration. It is the money in your personal account that really matters. Therefore, the N2Million in our personal account cannot be adequate to sponsor anyone to the UK.
Thank you so much @cashmadam. I really appreciate.

Please how do you think I can rectify the issue because it’s not the case that I don’t have the money. Also, does that mean I cannot submit my business bank statement at all even when I hold most my funds there? I can’t suddenly make huge transfers from there to my personal account to avoid being considered inflating the account.

Good day. Please I need your advice.

I applied for UK visit visa for the second time last month and the reason stated for the refusal I got today is so unclear. I applied to visit my wife who’s currently studying in the UK. Last year the reason stated for the refusal was that my expenses exceeded my income and I explained in this application that I recently got married and had to invest in my business, hence the financial discrepancies. Then I was also an employee at another company. However, I started my own business in January and submitted bank statements for the business and two of my personal bank statements. My business bank statement has money flowing in and out daily, with at least 2M per month. This was why I indicated that my annual income was 24M even though the business commenced in January. My proof of fund was above 12M in my business bank statement while the personal one was up to 2M. Does anyone understand why I was rejected and what I can do to rectify this, pls?
