Both. It displays pending appointment request on the dashboard and when you click on it, it displays pre approval request is being processed

Lagos peeps, how do we get out of this wahala without paying another fee, someone could have easily done two different interviews since I have been waiting for Lagos to give me a date.

Na una get time replying OyotunjiUSA, he gets triggered at any response to him, he feels he is an island of knowledge but when he is triggered he sounds so unintelligent and insane, I think everyone should totally ignore him.

Greetings to you. Pls how far? Have they approved you now? Pls how long did it take them to respond to you from the day of "preapproval request is still processed". I submitted since Monday 30th Sept but I haven't heard from them. And I submitted my preapproval information without uploading my I20? I just wish that they say something to me asap.

Not yet o. They said the pre-approval rejection was for visa waiver (which I never applied for in the first instance) but the payment is intact that they will give me a date as soon as they can.

I was able to schedule my visa (renewal Interview waiver) last night. I have been pending appointment request for a month, got canceled and I re-uploaded my 1-20.

The only thing I did differently was to use another browser. I didn't know if that helped or not. But yes, I was able to proceed last night. Lagos Consulate.

sHarmony, deees, basically you do not delete the old profile because you can’t. You create a new DS-160, choose the location that you want this time, and submit. Go to avit, use a new email to create account. At the point where you’re filling your details after they activate your username, change some information

Did you also open a new profile, did you get an email that the pre-approval request for the one of Lagos was rejected? Please the sheer lack of information is really disturbing about those who applied for Lagos?

This visa application is the most frustrating venture I have taken in my life. I have been trying to understand what pre-approval request rejection means and noone has been able to respond to my inquiry. AVITS are as clueless as I am, some of them believe that one has to pay a new fee (which doesn't make any sense in my opinion). They said I should open a ticket, a ticket that will take almost 2 weeks before it is responded to. Please Ayomide have you been able to get a date with the other profile you created. It is just absurd to be treated in this way in 2024.

Choice of embassy was chosen before making payment and I guess the files would have been created for one on that embassy system, it’s safe to pick Lagos again as they might do something better this time around

I just discovered it doesn't matter actually. The AVITS website has been upgraded now and it has a functional FAQ now. One can schedule an interview anywhere as long as you print the confirmation page. The email US Embassy sent me was so cryptic, no explanation was given for the rejection, they then said if the pre-approval request is accepted go and schedule interview. I sha believe this phase will pass this week.

I can confirm that the confirmation number of the DS-160 is one of the fields you will fill before you pay and I believe that the Embassy has your details starting you have chosen Lagos. I think we should be relieved that at least an action has been taken. Let's see what the new week will bring. Cheers.

I think the best thing to do if one needs appointment soon is to change to Abuja, Lagos embassy doesn’t seem to care

It is just a bit unsettling when you read of people getting dates in Abuja after 2 days wait. When I saw that the site is allowing payment again, then I figured out that maybe AVITS is allowing people have that chance but the process is devoid of useful information. The feedback system is also very unyielding. I would have created another visa application and paid if not that I do not have a spare 320k to pay. I hope you find the information useful bro.

1. You can screenshot it to the general public , so that public opinion will tell the illiterate 😀

2. If you have raised 100 tickets , it's your business. You are supposed to wait . USA embassy is dealing with more than 25 million VISA applicants , out of approximately 250 million population. Common, go and have patience. USA embassy and AVITS are doing great jobs under population pressure.

I am just writing this for clarity sake, I never called you an illiterate, I only told you to respect the fact that someone is smart enough to know what s/he is doing. I am pretty sure all Lagos applicants will not agree with your assessment of the wait we are waiting not that your assessment matters though. I have no quarrel with you, thanks. I only expressed my experience so people who had expressed their plan to pay and choose Abuja may go back and try to repay and see if it will yield a good result or not.

1. Do you expect the USA embassy to break their VISA policy b/cos of you ? Even, our ruling president cannot break the policy of USA VISA rules. USA embassy does not play with VISA policies, b/cos they don't want terrorists to enter their country.

2. You passed your boundary or did not read their terms and policy , because you are not supposed to email the embassy, you are ONLY suppose to call or chat. Only those with immigrant VISA issues are supposed to e-mail.

3. When you clicked on the pending appointments, the system is supposed to take you to the available calendar (dates), if it takes you back to the payment page, that means that your VISA interview appointment schedule has not been authorised.

4. You can raise another ticket or call the help-line for your query.

Please go to the US embassy website and read for yourself, there's an email there and phone number for visa applicants. You are writing as if you are talking to an illiterate person. Do you know the content of my email? Do you also know the number of tickets I have raised on the AVITS website. Please be careful with your choice of words.

Lagos applicants, I discovered that when you click on the pending appointment request, you can process a new payment now which wasn't like that, I don't know if this is a cue to be able to pay for a new appointment or it's just the usual glitch of that website that is incomplete. I have uploaded my i20 since 31 August, 2024 and I have been waiting ever since then, all efforts to contact Lagos embassy have been frustrated, the email I sent to them was replied with a very unprofessional response saying the email will never be read and I should contact AVITS where there are little to no information.
