Lots of people have heard the term Forex Trading yet they do not know what it means and how it works, today I will take my time to explain what this term truly means. Forex (foreign exchange) trading or FX as you may call it,is an act of buying and selling of currencies on the foreign exchange market with the aim of making a profit. How does Forex Trading Work? Forex trading always involves pairs of currency which is known as Currency Pairs. The most common pairs include Euro/United State Dollar known as (EURO/USD), Great British Pounds/United State Dollar (GBP/USD), United State Dollar/Japanese Yen ( USD/JPY), New Zealand Dollar/Canadian Dollar (NZD/CAD)etc. The first currency in the pair is the base currency, and the second is the quote currency. Exchange Rate: This tells you how much of the quote currency you need to buy one unit of the base currency. For example, if the GBP/USD pair is 1.40, it means 1 Great British pounds is worth 1.40 US dollars. Market Participants: Includes banks, financial institutions, corporations, governments, and individual traders. The market is open 24 hours a day, five days a week, due to the global nature of currency trading. |
