Goathead in akwaibom is from 700 upwards depending on the size and season that's because we don't play with goathead here.

Tomatoes in egusi, I have heard of that way of cooking egusi but I want to know if it is something that evolved into a practice by awon eko.

Funny enough, I am cooking bitterleaf soup today but with goat leg...mine is washed very well. If I cook with out washing vigourously; my brothers won't eat.
Your soup looks good, I no see crayfish for your list abi na because of tomatoes you skip am?

I know alot of Yoruba that uses tomato and tomato paste to cook egusi because to them it taste better, But the truth is it taste too Sweet. Another disadvantage is that if not warm or properly refrigerated, its spoils very quick and easily. That's why most people prefer using better leaf than normal vegetable like Ugwu leaf to cook egusi soup.

Op, but to soak egusi...Hmmm, that most be ur own making, because I initial thought u where planing to mode some to boil little by little and then add the rest to it...But hmmmmm that never happen.

Enjoy ur food sha, But dnt invite someone to join u on that, cus na running stomach for d person

are you serious you did not scrub the leaves before cooking? huh
not to mention, the amount used is so tiny, can it really be called bitter leaf stew, just asking.
maybe "seasoned with bitter leaf".
Note: I am only familiar with removing the bitterness before cooking- if you don't and that's how its done in your area, don't take my post as a criticism of how you do things there.
yes i didnt......the idea behind it is as a person if you cant wash the leaf and you have no time....one can take as little as possible and slice to get the taste you want as if you washed a whole bunch.....it will still get the desired taste but you wont see much of the leaf in it....and yes it is bitter leaf soup....what matters is how it taste wink wink wink wink wink
