Well, people in Ibadan, Lagos and elsewhere in the south-west do not believe that Christians are under attack, so they would be surprised by any American intervention. Only parts of the north are experiencing Islamist attacks that affect Muslims and Christians alike, and they would oppose any intervention unless Tinubu invited them, as Jonathan did. Anyone thinking that America will come and bomb parts of the north and the attacks will stop is delusional. The military is bombing them, yet they are still there. Well, you are describing the situation in the north as if the line between Christians and Muslims is clearly defined, forgetting that they share a culture. There are also Christians in the north who would not support the AMIs.
Apart from maybe the south-east, there will be resistance in the south. It may not be as violent as in the north, but it will still be significant.
You also did not factor in the tribal and religious schisms along ethnic and religious lines. The result will be chaos, which will not benefit Nigeria.
