Time is of the essence, so I'll come straight to the point.

My mother, my five siblings lives at my late stepdad's residence in Abuja. My mom had two kids a boy and a girl for him. The man in question passed away last year and was laid to rest the same year. After the burial, the family head initiated a process to distribute all properties located in Abuja and Akwa Ibom, excluding land.
Since then, disputes have begun to emerge among the children regarding the man's property. Last week , I received a report from my mom that her stepson came and distribute court notice to all tenants including her own share. she tore some copies apart.
I'm not his biological son, so I remove myself from situations that could lead to problems, while also ensuring my mother's well-being is safeguarded.


My stepdad is a father of five: two sons and three daughters. Why is it so difficult for the family to divide the property in a way that satisfies all five children? The mother of that guy came the following day and apologized to my mom though. I won't tolerate anyone disrespecting my mom. I still feel the need to stand up and react when someone tries to insult her like that again.

I've sent my mom back to court to get the document the boy got.

Though, I have a foundational knowledge of company and business law as an accountant in the making, but I'm struggling to understand the nuances of this particular law and how to respond, I would appreciate some clarification.
