Did Yorubas have the Presidency when their Governors, along with their cultural leaders and elite, stood together to form Amotekun?

Did Yorubas wait on Buhari or even waste time blaming him before seeking solutions for their people and region?

Why is the North incapable of doing similar and only interested in gaslighting a Southern President whereas Yorubas under Buhari, acted rather than deflect and indict alone?


Yet the North wonders why many Southerners now want nothing to do with them? This is a region with leaders who revel in doing evil and treating the lives of their people as worthless same way no one cares when exterminators fumigate their residence to kill Cockroaches etal.

Yet they never give Southern President (from OBJ to GEJ and now Tinubu) peace in office. Really tragic and Southerners really need to open their eyes and think because it is obvious political, cultural and religious leaders in the North know their region is gone.

Obvious too, with how they are not seeking solutions, they have now embraced the idea of taking the South down with them. This is why their house is burning and they are doing everything else aside searching for the extinguisher to put out the fire.

Waste of time. Nigeria Men's football is in a crisis. Watched Sundowns yesterday in the SA Premier league and at times you will think you were watching European clubs sides play.

That is a country whose football was in the doldrums when we won our first Nations Cup in 1980, when our club sides like Rangers, Shooting, Insurance and later Leventis, Abiola Babes, Nationale and BCC lions were continental names, when we won our first global championship in 1985...

But look at what our football has been reduced to due to the Nigerian factors of mediocrity, sentiment and crass corruption.

I think we need a hiatus, a football fast, a wilderness period for the purpose of soul searching and renewal because clearly this decline is terminal.

The Nations Championship won by Morocco yesterday is evident and damning. The most disgusting performance by any football team out of this country I have even witnessed. And believe me I have seen a lot of Nigerian national teams.

Last week I was in Benin for project inspection. As I was about leaving my hotel room, one hefty young guy came to my door, stark naked. Until players are chosen on merit, we may never have a CHAN team that will do well. The coach didn't select the players based on merit, I doubt if he even watches the matches in the NFL.

For your information: all cultures have mixed and many have been erased entirely. The Anglo-Saxons were absorbed by the Normans. Gaul was swallowed by the Romans and eventually became France. The Arabian Peninsula saw countless local cultures wiped out and replaced with Islamic culture. This is not unique to Africa, that's how history works.

Free access to global knowledge. Technology and education the world shares far more openly than in the past.
