Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by demmyface(f): 9:44pm On Jul 27, 2017
VISA APPROVED on the 26th July, 7:15am at Lagos Embassy

My transcript goes thus:
Vo: Good morning ma'am,how are you?
Me:I'm fine, good morning.
Vo: pass me your passport.....oh!I see you are a student, give me your F-I20.
Vo: so why did you choose morgan state university?
me: I choose MSU because they offer masters in public health with a concentration in Environmental health which will help me implement programs that will improve and promote healthy style living among people of my community here in Nigeria, which is in line with my future career as a community health worker and also i will be joining Dr ABC's research which is aimed at reduction and prevention of HIV/AIDs, sexually transmitted diseases, substance use and alcohol abuse among emerging adults between the ages 18-27.
VO: what university did you do your undergraduate?
Me: Unilorin here in Nigeria.
VO: what year did you graduate?
Me: 2010
VO: what have you being doing after your NYSC?
Me: I was retained at my ppa as a community health worker at YZ foundation which is an NGO after which I took up a job in 2015 as a lab assistant with ABC specialist hospital, we collect samples from patients, document these samples, analyse it,grow it on a culture media (well i just described my duties here)
VO: did you write any test, GMAT, GRE?
Me: I took GRE
Vo: how many schools did you apply to? Me: 3
VO: name them Me: MSU,CSU,TU
VO: mention some of the required courses?
Me: environmental health, statistical methods, epidemiological methods, Biological basis, behavioural health science, public health community needs solution......i mentioned 6/7 cant remember again
VO: who is your sponsor?
Me: my mother.
VO: what does she do?
Me: she is a business woman.
VO: what sort of business?
Me: na so I start to the stammer oh.... rice production, ehnn rice wholesales.....(lol) eventually I was able to say she's one of the major rice distributors in Ilorin.
VO: smiling .....you'll be needing this at the POE.......I no hear the rest again then he passed the white sheet and my F-I20 to me
ME: I put my hands on the slab, face down and I was laughing.... I took my papers and left.

For me I would say it was just God's favour, I told God I wanted a smiling VO and just 2 minutes interview with very few questions and a white sheet at the end...............and it was so.
I couldn't help but notice a lady who was talking so loud with all energy "saying I will cure polio,I will cure this and that" fear begin dey catch me say if she could speak like this and ended up with a blue sheet, wetin I want talk again but I was calm and very optimistic.
MY ADVICE
you don't need to shout to convince the VO, shouting makes one sound like a desperado.
Maintain eye contact..... although in my case i was looking at him but i no even see am.....cos i was looking behind him and focusing on what he was asking me.
once again I say thanks to Textrem, walspring and Akins2016..............you guys are wonderful. And to all the guys and ladies keeping this thread alive and active...........you guys are doing a great job......well done and God bless.

Hey guys, I've been a silent reader here and i really want to say that this forum has helped me greatly, my visa was approved today(7:15am) at the Lagos state embassy, it was just pure favour and God's grace. i want to use this opportunity to thank walspring, Textrem for being so blunt to criticise my initial transcript that i made for myself and to Akins2016,you're really God sent.

My Transcript loading......................... I'm so excited.

Before I forget, without courage, many things will elude you. In as much as the word of GOD says, "...submit to your husband", you need to be courageous and firm, even in marriage. Now, "firmness" and courage requires some level of flexibility, which creates room to accommodate the view of your husband, and others in general. The time to start to build both is now!.

Yes you are right...... Thanks

The one worse than this happened to someone, that visits Nairaland regularly. They both met offline, somewhere at Lekki, where she went for a proposal presentation.

The guy, came in a clean Benz 190, with all his off-shore outfit. Immediately he set his eyes on this lady at the reception, he had to wait for the lady to finish what she came to do in the office.

To cut the very long story short, he took her to introduce to his parents at Nnewi. We all thought it was love at first sight, as there was no traces of him being fraudulent.

Just some weeks to the chosen date for introduction, the young man disappeared. His calls were no longer going, he deactivated his facebook account. When he was traced to his supposed (oil company) place of work, there was no one like that. He registered just his initial with a fake address on his GSM.

You may ask, what about his house? There must be a place he used to take my friend to. When his car plate number was traced, the car belongs to the owner of that same house, who at that time lives in UK.

The very good part of it was that, there was no sex thorughout. The only area my friend lost was, the area of purchases. She bought so many things for kitchen use, and also bought some other stuffs, which they would have used during the introduction. Till date, the sight of some of those things, makes her feel somehow. The fuuniest aspect of it is that, his parents keeps claiming they dont know his whereabout too.

In summary, we pray to GOD to lead us, instead of trusting on our intelligent, which does not take us anywhere. Offline or online, I trust in GOD for a good partner.

Hi enjoyment, I salute ur courage, av bin following your thread for sometime now, like you av said either offline or online it is only God that can give one a good partner...besides it takes courage for one(especially ladies) to come out in d open seeking for a future partner, courage which some1like me lack.. I pray b4 d end of dis month God will answer u.. Happy sunday
