At LAWSANAID, we prioritize mental and emotional well-being. Our Mental Health Corner is dedicated to nurturing emotional, social, and psychological wellness.

Join us this month of March as we explore the power of stable mental health in fostering a conducive environment for learning and personal growth.

At the Lawsanaid MHC holding on Twitter Space, we would dive into the importance of addressing and embracing mental health among persons.
You are invited to learn about your mental health with insights, tips, and support.

LAWSANAID COMMUNITY ESSAY COMPETITION 2022.

LAWSANAID is an initiative of Kate Centre for Arts and Creativity (KACAC), a registered NGO solving life problems creatively and innovatively.

The initiative provides a platform that gives Law students and aspiring Law students with disabilities access to a better and quality education by providing and connecting them to opportunities, resources, training on ICT, and transferable skills, among others.

In line with its partnership with All Appeals Electronic Reports (AAER), LAWSANAID has created an avenue for law students with disabilities to develop and showcase their writing skills by organizing an essay competition for them.

Find below the details of the competition;

ESSAY TOPIC: Unlawful Discrimination against people with Disabilities and the need for inclusion.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Participants must;
- Be a member of the Lawsanaid community (law student with a disability)
- Enrolled in an undergraduate program in any institution of higher learning in Nigeria.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
• Submit an essay of not more than 1000 words, font size 12, Times New Roman to lawsanaid@gmail.com.

• Submissions must be in PDF format and must bear the name and disability/disabilities of the participants as the heading

• Submissions are expected to be Individual work; no group work is allowed.

• Submissions Deadline; 11th October 2022, 11:59 p.m.

We expect a professional, creative and thought-provoking essay.
Be bold, unconventional, and distinctive on the competition question.

All sources must be cited and referred to the respective part of the essay. All contributions will be tested for plagiarism.

Prizes:
~ 1st Prize: 40,000 naira
~ 2nd Prize: 25,000 naira
~ 3rd Prize: 15,000 naira

International Youth Day: LAWSANAID's Youth Day of Service 2022.

In commemoration of the the international youth day, LAWSANAID, a non-profit initiative of Kate Center for Art and Creativity (Kacac), gathered volunteers which paid a visit to God's Care School for Special Needs, Awka, Anambra State . A school for children with disabilities. This was to carryout the Youth Day of Service (YDoS) 2022 Project, supported by Leap Africa.

An interview with the Founder and Team Lead of LAWSANAID, Miss. Onyinye K. Omenugha, gave an insight of the preparations done Pre-event and during the event.

"Last week, we visited the school and discovered that the place was in a bad shape. Some of the students were abandoned with very little to feed on. After the initial visit, we organized a "1k support challenge" and we got an overwhelming level of support from concerned individuals. With that, we were able to get sufficient foodstuffs, a first aid box, stationary and many other necessary materials for them." she said.

During the event on the 12th day of August 2022 the Team visit the designated school and carried out their Youthful service.
Mr. Ewhubare Alex, the Public relations Manager of the Team, said "The event was a success. We encouraged the Children by speaking to them, teaching them special songs and rendering service in our capacity. We even learnt some sign language from the Children."

The Management of God's Care School for Special Needs Umuoyom Village, Awka was joyed by LAWSANAID's YDoS project. The YDoS Project was a success; and it showed how Youthful and Useful Nigerian Youths could be.

12th - 18th of August every year is a day youths across the globe seek to make impact in their environments through acts of service organized by YDoS in collaboration with Leap Africa. This year, LAWSANAID shall join the movement.

The initiative [b]LAWSANAID
is a voluntary Initiative under Kate Center for Art and Creativity (KACAC) an NGO geared towards ensuring arts and creativity are recognized.
The initiative has its laid down vision and mission.
MISSION: To provide a platform for law students and aspiring Law students with disabilities. LAWSANAID had a SEED[/b] agenda which includes to support, engage, empower and develop them.
LAWSANAID is predicted on helping these students as regards academics, competitions, scholarships, and other activities to build professionalism in them.

As part of the "Youthful and Useful" mandate of the Youth Day of Service (YDoS) 2022 by Leap Africa, LAWSANAID will be participating in this year's Service having gathered more than a hundred [b](100)
volunteers for the project in a single day. These Volunteers have been divided into Six (6) groups which include: The Media Team, The Press and Reporting Team, The Design and Content Team, The Training Team, The Budget and Finance Team and The Logistics Team.

The project given to LAWSANAID was to be in service with its immediate Community in Anambra State on the 12th of August, 2022. There will be both virtual and onsite volunteers which would be held on Friday, the 12th of August, 2022.
