I think your problem is that you take whatever thing you read too seriously. You really shouldn't because you have no idea who wrote those and for what agenda it was written. You are here giving us history of Africa, have you asked yourself who wrote those things. For all we know there are no ancient writings from the black Africans we can lay hands on today. The letters we use today are from the Romans, the numbers are from the Arabs. The Bible was written in Aramaic/Hebrew, the Koran in Arabic, many ancient books in Latin. So tell me those history you are reading about black people, Who wrote them?

PS: I'm not arguing about Jesus with you. By you believing all those things you read means the westerners are manipulating you, yet you feel like you have a mind of your own.

Whatever any one is reading about the black history today is an after thought because the blacks didn't record anything about themselves. They didn't have any organised system of writing. The ancient writings we know came in form of Latin, Greek, Aramaic, Arabic, etc and all the languages exist till today. The blacks now embraced the Bible and the Koran originally written in languages alien to Africa. Ask a Yoruba man his origin he would be talking about how God sent Oduduwa from heaven. Ask an Igbo man, he will start talking about how Eri came down from Israel. Those things are fallacy because they were never recorded and so cannot be proven.

The problem I have with these people is that the history they are regurgitating was still written by the white man in their own language and letters none of them was written with any African alphabet and they are swallowing it hook line and sinker and still claiming superiority. The black race was never brilliant and it's still showing till today. Whitewash them all you want, the fact remains that the world would still be in the stone age without the westerners. The good health care, tech devices they are using to come here to yap, the organised sports we enjoy, the convenient means of transportation, modern architecture, even our barbaric way of life was changed by the westerners. Yet some lots are here telling us about the history they don't know when and in what alphabet it was written. I pity those who don't want to embrace the truth so we can progress.

Instead of focus on the negative and trying to use that to pull down the whole race, come up with solutions and push your own agenda. Good thing that Nigerians know better now and are calling for a revolution.

Las Las I don't believe that Nigeria is going to get any better no matter who takes that leadership position. The leadership problem the black man is having shows that something is fundamentally wrong with the black mind. If you want to contribute anything meaningful to the world, better go and join them in the west just like Emeagwali and Omalu did. Africa especially Nigeria will kill any good dream you have. Few good people might try to effect a change but when the empty ones are greater in number, nothing can be done. Peace.

You can't tell me that people that were killing twins and don't even know the cause of sickle cell anemia thereby terming those unfortunate kids ogbanje, burying the king with twelve slaves, and a lot of other atrocities committed out of ignorance are advanced. Infact if you are a twin you need to visit the Mary Slessor grave at calabar and pay homage because you could have been killed at birth. Yes Slessor is a westerner. Whenever you have a bacteria infection, remember to thank Alexander Fleming . These are the people you owe the modern lifestyle you enjoy not some phantom Egyptian or any African for that matter.

Now I know that you don't even understand what I'm saying. Trade, language, tradition, way of life, natural resources etc are nothing but nature at play. Hell Africa started with trade by barter just like every other place and later moved to cowries. Every race traded, had tradition, had a language, a way of life etc. It doesn't make you special. What made others special was that they used those resources and made something special out of it. Tell me what Africa achieved with her resources for the betterment of the world. The resources in Africa was so much that it attracted the westerners yet nothing to show for it. The westerners even used the resources to develop their place and Africa was just there mopping. Now imagine if it was the westerners were the indigenes of Africa imagine what they could have achieved with such amount of resources. Oga no make me vex o. Africans were too dormant for my liking.

What I said was that The Asians did well by maintaining their system and at the same time embracing tech development. The Romans and Greeks knew that it was not feasible to be stuck with outdated civilization. Africans on the other hand lost their culture and system, refused to advance technologically and are stuck with their ancient Civilization mentality. What I praised was the people that maintained their system and embraced tech advancement, and also people that dropped their ancient civilization mentality. What's difficult to understand here?

It's true that the black race had systems and even developed a form of writing but have you ever asked yourself why those systems and writings have ceased to exist today? Don't tell me the whitemen influenced them India whom were colonized by white men still maintains their Hindi writing, Chinese maintains their mandarin, Japanese, Korea, Arabs, Russians all have their systems of writing till today. Some of these nations contributed next to nothing in the early development of the world but today, they have learned all the technologies and are doing wonderfully well with them. Why is there no surviving African system of writing?, why are the black Africans still unable to join the technological revolution? Why is electricity still a rocket science in Nigeria? Why is no African nation represented in the ISS? Why are many parts of Africa still very much under developed? Yet some people want me to believe that Africans were doing well in development if not for the whites. When we are able to answer these questions, we will find out that if not that we were docile and lacking in ideas yet unwilling to change, the whites would have nothing on us.

PS: Those yapping about Benin kingdom, Timbuktu, the ancient Egypt etc. Please where are they today or did they retrogress? That someone built a pyramid doesn't mean we shouldn't develop and build skyscrapers. I believe there's is a standard that the world development conforms to, if you are still riding bicycle when others are flying jets, that means you will be left behind in your state of mediocrity. The Greeks, Romans, Mayans etc had ancient civilizations but are today trying to embrace the new civilization. We Africans should drop this ancient civilization issue and embrace the technological revolution otherwise we would be stuck in the past blaming the white race.

This is very evident here than the propagation of good ideas to unite us.

The reason you are asking this question is because you are not smart enough to realise that it is not about the colour of the the skin but the content of the mind.

Such innovations were a result of a structured educational system very deep in tradition which accommodated original ideas which developed generations after generations.

Traditions have been watered down and eroded by my negative influences making it at present insufficient to replicate the glories of the past. It is not just in terms of inventions but language as well.

How many of us can say one or two proverbs when making expression in our so called mother tongue. How many can speak without interpolating it with English or other languages of our colonial masters.

My dear brother, on a holistic view all those inventions are mainly an exploitation of matter. It all boils down to materialism which in very essence is the bases of a CONSUMERIST culture we living in today, of never being SATISFIED over burdened with always asking for more and more to our demerits.

When we weigh the pro and cons this inventions have been used for the downfall of man than uplifting him. IS OUR WORD NOT SICK?!

Lol Simple answer seriously underdeveloped. The things that make my life more interesting was created by the white men. Eg Telephone, computer, television, Benz, Sound system, nice suits, modern health techniques, organised sports air travel etc. Now don't get me wrong I'm still very much in tune with my African culture but guys let's say the truth and move ahead, these people made life fucking easy. Would I have preferred to be a hunter in an ancient village and risk being killed by some savages from another village, when I could have as well been an engineer courtesy of the white people? Hell no! Those people saying the white people stole the black man's ideas, why are black people still finding it difficult till today to even replicate those inventions if they are so smart? Imagine up till today, Nigeria can't produce ordinary television.

I don't know where you are pulling that 10000km² Shit from but the official figure for Ibadan is 3080km² Which I even doubt because those 11 local governments are tiny and are not supposed to be called local governments. Iwo road is one LG, before you move up to gbagi market you have entered another LG. from Gbagi market to Loyola college you have entered another one. From Agodi gate to Mokola roundabout another LG. From the same Agodi gate down to Iwo road another LG. Who even created all those things as Local governments. My LG Orumba North is bigger than Seven of those things you call local government. Out of all those things only Egbeda and probably ona ara deserve to be a Local government. You think I haven't been to Ibadan.

Lol this was fun. What I just wanted to tell you people is that those figures you guys are pulling from Wikipedia are unreliable. If they can give Nsukka such figure (which I doubt is the real figure) how do you expect me to believe that of Ibadan or anywhere at all. Truth is Nigeria has a long way to go in Geo Informatics; until then, let's keep guessing.
