Don't you see, just as the whites can make these claims so too can Africans for we are the origin of many things. White people existed in Europe, living in primitive ignorance and illiteracy, holed up in caves, when blacks were building the pyramids of Egypt and Sudan, building mighty cities with huge temples in Thebes, Kerma, and Kush, advancing medicine, astronomy, mathematics, philosophy, architecture and economics. The white race emerged around 45,000 years ago. The advances made by black Africans, and which the world is benefitting immensely from today, are dated to less than 5,000 BC at the earliest. So it is utterly wrong to say they were no whites when blacks were the leading race on the planet. There were whites, and there were Indians, Chinese etc. The blacks were the leading race on earth because they were inventive, sharp, intelligent, and ambitious.

Also, the premise on which you placed your entire write-up was false, biased and antagonistic. You claimed:

I agree with you concerning the list, and everything else you said pointing out the fact that you said those courses don't have a specfic career path... unlike the other "professional courses". And because of that, most of people who studied those courses end up working in "unexpected" organisations while the professional courses end up being stalked to a particular career path and then there's no job...

They went out to Europe as black people, from Africa, with the same genes, of the ones who were still in Africa, but who have decided to do nothing on improving their own genes........

In conclusion, if you google now at the top 10 inventions that are going to change the world in the future, you'll see them there, ranging from faster transportation systems, [Imagine boarding a plane in Lagos and landing at Heathrow in 45mins], That's the future, They're looking at better communication systems, better health care services, better government principles, and all sorts, what are we looking at in the future, Africa?

10. The Plow - for Agriculture: Now looking at this invention, we can recall that this people actually enslaved us so we could make agricultural production faster, more efficient, and what did we do? We accepted the challenge to work, work and till the land and serve our gods...
What did the Europeans do? They invented the Plow. This means, we who were actually suffering did not even think of how we can make our work easier, instead, we enjoyed the process, at least we were in a foreign land... with accents flowing here and there...

9. The Wheel - for Movement: The wheel made the transportation of goods much faster and more efficient, especially when affixed to horse-drawn chariots and carts. However, if it had been used only for transportation, the wheel wouldn't have been as much of a world-changer as it was. In fact, a lack of quality roads limited its usefulness in this regard for thousands of years. Meanwhile, we actually enjoyed carrying those loads on our bare heads!

8. The Printing Press : The printing press allowed enormous quantities of information to be recorded and spread throughout the world. Books had previously been items only the extremely rich could afford, but mass production brought the price down tremendously. The printing press is probably responsible for many other inventions, but in a more subtle way than the wheel. The diffusion of knowledge it created gave billions of humans the education they needed to create their own inventions in the centuries since.

7. Refrigeration : The ability to keep food cold for prolonged periods (and even during shipping, once refrigerated trucks were developed) drastically changed the food production industry and the eating habits of people around the world. Now, we have easy access to fresh meats and dairy products even in the hottest summer months, and we're no longer tied to the expense of harvesting and shipping natural ice -- which never could have kept pace with the world's growing population in any case.

6. Communication : These developments in communications technology effectively shrank the world. In the span of about 120 years, we went from a world where it might take weeks to hear news from across the country to one where we can watch events occurring on the other side of the globe as they happen. The advent of mass communications put more information within our grasp and altered how we interact with each other.

5. Steam Engine : While the steam engine has been eclipsed by electric and internal combustion engines in the areas of transport and factory power, they're still incredibly important. Most power plants in the world actually generate electricity using steam turbines, whether the steam is heated by burning coal, natural gas or a nuclear reactor.

4. Automobile : The automobile's effect on commerce, society and culture is hard to overestimate. Most of us can jump in our car and go wherever we want whenever we want, effectively expanding the size of any community to the distance we're willing to drive to shop or visit friends. Our cities are largely designed and built around automobile access, with paved roads and parking lots taking up huge amounts of space and a big chunk of our governments' budgets. Light bulb : You might think the light bulb changed the world by allowing people to work at night or in dark places (it did, to some extent), but we already had relatively cheap and efficient gas lamps and other light sources at the time. It was actually the infrastructure that was built to provide electricity to every home and business that changed the world. Today, our world is filled with powered devices than we can plug in pretty much anywhere. We have the light bulb to thank for it.

2. Computer : If we only examine these grandiose uses of computers, we overlook how much we rely on them from day to day. Computers let us store vast amounts of information and retrieve a given piece of it almost instantly. Many of the things we take for granted in the world wouldn't function without computers, from cars to power plants to phones.

1. Internet : The Internet is such a powerful invention that we've probably only begun to see the effects it will have on the world. The ability to diffuse and recombine information with such efficiency could accelerate the rate at which further world-changing inventions are created. At the same time, some fear that our ability to communicate, work, play and do business via the Internet breaks down our ties to local communities and causes us to become socially isolated. Like any invention, the good or ill it accomplishes will come from how we choose to use it.

Now the question is what have we invented to change the world? Nothing, because we didn't invent corruption, or mismanagement of funds, everything came from the white people, because technically, we haven't started living our own lives as independent states and people but instead, we look up to "our ogas at the top", we are silent beings, who only complain underneath and keep our mouths shut outside.

Today is a holiday, and I want to write an article on this our continent Africa through our dear country Nigeria.

If you ask, " What's our problem in Africa" most people will say, oh, the Europeans, oh this oh that... The point is that we as Africans never take blame on ourselves. Yes, we were enslaved, but has any body asked the question, why were we enslaved, what were the factors that the Europeans saw that got us enslaved? We were gullible, as Africans, as Nigerians, we were gullible in the past... Take for example, the Europeans came and deceived us, I mean who are the kind of people that can be deceived, that can be found gullible at any point in time? Yes, we are the ones, we Africans.. Where does all these begin from? We are our problems, everyone in Africa.. The truth is, as an African, how do we see ourselves? Who are we to the world? Are we really inferior to the whites? What are we capable of doing? Are we risk takers like the whites?

Naturally, we have a particular perception about ourselves, "We come to life to enjoy whatever life has to offer us, and when we are old, we start seeking respect and later die, and the cycle continues like that", but who are the whites? The whites are the bossy people, who can treat the blacks like animals, who can enslave the blacks, why? Because we see them as "LIFE", and we want to enjoy whatever they have for us. Why do blacks in the diaspora succeed? This is what I call the average success, I'm going to use myself as an example now....

"When I was young, probably in my primary school days, I had this uncle who was staying in the United Kingdom, and to be honest, I saw him as a god, even as a small child, why?
1. I saw him as someone who could provide almost anything I request for..
2. I saw him as someone who was closer to everything "oyinbo" I use to see on T.V then ...
I would request for things like playstation, psps, R.C planes[Cos I'm an aviation freak] and all sorts, this things where not available then like they are now in Nigeria.. My parents where rich, we where living comfortably but this my god must be worshipped.... That's the African mind.., anybody that we see who is at an higher level than us is seen as a demi-god.... Your boss for instance, can do and un-do, our Governors e.t.c and this is why when any of us, I mean any Afrcian who has the opportunity to be in power, almost if not completely misuses the power..
It must be remembered that the Europeans that were said to have enslaved us and caused all our problems, where actually the same people who taught us THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS because we have always acted as dummies.... Nigeria for example, do you know that the active rail lines routes in Nigeria today where actually built by the Europeans? Whatever good that have come out of any African country have always had a "White" involvement? Who brought education? Who invented the airplanes? Who brought about the currency?.... Although some form of solar power has been available
for decades, the technology has only recently gained

solar power remains expensive relative to conventional
sources of energy like coal and natural gas.
Nevertheless, its overall cost continues to shrink at a
rapid rate. As solar power becomes an increasingly
important component of the country's "energy mix,"
it's worth taking a look at five major benefits of solar
power.

1. Changing Relationships with Public Utilities
Homeowners and business owners who install solar
panels on their property enjoy more equitable
relationships with their local utilities. Whereas
conventional arrangements between utilities and their
customers require the latter to be wholly dependent on
the former, solar power users gain a measure of
independence from their utilities. Even if their solar
panels don't produce all of the power that they need on
a daily basis, they'll need to buy less conventional
power. If they produce more power than they require,
their utilities may actually pay them for it at a
fluctuating wholesale rate. For cash-strapped
homeowners, this can turn into a significant source of

2. Healthy Financial Incentives
Along with various state agencies, the federal

amount of generation capacity that they install on

Although the production of solar panels does require
some inputs of raw materials and energy, solar power's
environmental impact is minimal. The technology
produces none of the carbon, methane or particulate
emissions that fossil fuels emit, and it doesn't demand
large-scale mining or drilling operations. Since panel
arrays can be placed on rooftops or in isolated desert
areas, solar power's physical footprint is manageable
as well.
4. Labor-Intensive Production Regimes
The solar power industry's "innovation engine" has
resulted in the creation of tens of thousands of jobs in
the last decade alone. Although proponents of
conventional energy technologies argue that the solar
industry destroys more fossil fuel-related jobs than it
creates, this is a misleading claim. After all, solar
panel production is just a small facet of an overall
industry that demands contributions from installation
technicians, salespeople, battery-storage designers
and other key players.
5. Geopolitical Benefits
Since the dawn of the fossil fuel age, the United
States’ reliance on unstable or hostile countries to
supply oil, gas and other energy resources has caused
plenty of trouble. Indeed, the country's political and
business leaders are often forced to make unsavory
compromises with shady or dangerous parties in order
to guarantee steady energy imports. Since all of the
solar power that the United States needs can be
generated within the country's own borders, the
technology has the potential to eliminate this less-
than-ideal reliance on imperfect actors. In the long
run, such a development could increase the economic
and physical security of every American citizen.
Putting Things in Perspective
Solar power shouldn't be mistaken for a cure-all that's
capable of single-handedly solving all of the world's
social, environmental and political ills. However, it's a
valuable technology that's increasingly competitive with
traditional sources of energy. Moreover, its benefits
are undeniable. In the future, solar power is all but
assured to have a lasting and overwhelmingly positive
impact on our society.

It is easier said than done. If it was APC that got that amount of donation would they invest it in the power sector? It is always easy in theory.

By the way, the problem with the power sector is more than lack of funds. It's not just about pumping in funds.
That has been the mistake of the past administrations.
One should not expect the power project to be successful when we've got people who benefit from the dysfunction. The generator importers and fuel dealers surely have a hand in the sabotage of the efforts put into fixing the power situation.
