Two juvenile girls were arrested after they were accused of putting an 8-month-old baby in a refrigerator and posting video of the incident on Snapchat.

The video led police to the teenage babysitters, and in it they can be heard laughing while the baby cries.

Malaysian man has been charged with more than 600 sex assaults against his daughter, and could face a jail term of over 12,000 years if found guilty, officials said Thursday.

Court officials took two days to read out all 626 charges against the 36-year-old divorcee and finished Thursday afternoon.

They included 599 charges of sodomy against the 15-year-old girl, as well as counts of incest, rape and other sex crimes.

The bespectacled suspect, in a grey T-shirt and blue trousers, was calm when the charges were read in court. He pleaded not guilty and the case will now proceed to trial....

A Ghanaian journalist, Saddick Adams on Saturday posted photos from a funeral where the deceased was buried in a coffin molded like the popular beer brand, Star.

"At a funeral today in our own Ghana, the deceased was buried in a casket that was molded like a Star Beer bottle" he wrote.
According to Ghanaian media, burying the dead in specially shaped coffins is not new in the country.
"In some localities in Ghana, the coffins are often shaped to fit the occupation of the deceased." reports Daily Graphic. "For instance a fisherman may be buried in a coffin shaped like a fish."

I guess it is safe to say that this particular deceased either guess the deceased was either a beer bar operator or died after drinking too much star beer.

A suspected robber,identified as Ayobami Adedeji, has blamed the way he turned out to be a criminal on his father, claiming he never took care of him after the death of his mother.

Adedeji was arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command shortly after allegedly robbing a woman of her handbag on Friday at Kola bus stop, in the Alagbado area of the state.

The suspect was said to be in company with an accomplice, identified as Aboki, who, however, escaped arrest.

Adedeji was reportedly chased by policemen, who were on routine patrol in the area at the time of the incident.

The 23-year-old in his statement to the police said he took to crime due to lack of good parenting.

He said, “I was a bus conductor. I went to Kotangora Market to meet my friend, Aboki, to discuss how to raise money.

“At about 2pm on Monday, we perfected the plan to operate together on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, but our focus were Adura and Council bus stops. Our priorities were only handbags and purses. We had snatched two bags and my friend kept the money, before the botched operation. It was the first time we would be doing this.

“I didn’t know RRS operatives were monitoring us. I snatched the woman’s bag and they chased us into the streets. My friend escaped after abandoning his motorcycle, while I was arrested.

“I dropped out of school in SSS 1 after losing my mother. My father was just a ceremonial father. He never cared about me after the death of my mother. He never assisted me; I had to fend for myself after the death of my mother.”

In another development, the RRS said it recovered an AK-47 rifle from three suspects in the Apapa area of the state.

The operatives, who were on routine patrol of the community, reportedly sighted the men at about 11pm on Friday carrying a bag.

The policemen were said to have accosted them to make enquiries on the content of the bag.

“The suspects, on sighting the cops, dropped the bag and fled the scene. We found an AK-47 rifle in the bag. No ammunition was found in the bag,” the police said in a statement.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the incidents, adding that while Adedeji had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for further investigations, the recovered rifle had been deposited in the RRS headquarters.

Nollywood actress Chidinma Nwadike opened a can of worms last week when she said in an interview that at least 80% of Nollywood actresses use charms to get movie roles.

While her declaration has been attracting varied reactions from different quarters, another actress, Sarah Ebhota has added fuel to the fire by saying she once caught a Nollywood actress with a charm hidden in her bag.
Ekpoma, Edo State-born Ebhota told Potpourri in a chat:
“I will say it is true that many actresses use charms to get movie roles because there’s this film ‘Juju wood’ that showed where actors and actresses use charms to get roles. And in some cases, like some locations I have been, you see the cast fighting themselves spiritually just because of a role.

And I have once seen a charm in an actress’ bag at a location in Asaba. That’s what I have to say about that but as for me I strongly believe in God, he gave me the talent and He has been supporting me. God is my strength”, she said.

A woman has been killed, allegedly by her 18-year-old man, Agugu Adau, for refusing to give him a disappearing charm he claimed was his inheritance from his late herbalist father.

A family source told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) that Agugu committed the crime at his Kisaghyip village farm in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau.

The source said that Agugu, after killing his mother, removed the sum of N20,000 from her blood-sucked clothes and used it to buy a mobile phone, a shirt and a pair of slippers.

Mr Tyopev Terna, spokesman of the Plateau Police Command, confirmed that the suspect was being held, but declined further comments.
“Investigation is ongoing. The details are not ready. Please understand with us and be patient,” he told NAN on phone.
But Agugu, who spoke with our correspondent, said that he killed the woman because she refused to give him a charm that was his inheritance from his father.

“When I was 14 years old, my late father, who was a native doctor, showed me a charm that enabled him to disappear and reappear at will. He promised to handover the charm to me when I turn 18.

“On his dying bed four years ago, he gave my mother the charm and asked her to give me when I turn 18. But I am now 18 and she has refused to give it to me.

“On this fateful day at the farm, I asked her about it, but she threatened to throw the charm into the river, if I disturbed her too much.
“Her response infuriated me and I suddenly felt that she was of no value as a mother. I immediately slaughtered her with the knife I was using to harvest potatoes.

“After slaughtering her, I dumped her body in the bush,” he said.

Mr David Adau, senior brother to the suspect, has, however, dismissed the suspect’s claim that he killed the mother because of a charm.
“Prior to the incident, the family had faced several problems with Agugu. He was fond of stealing and causing trouble.

“I believe he killed our mother because of the N20,000 I gave her a day before the incident. I work at the mines in Barkin-Ladi, and usually give my earnings to our mother to keep for me.

“I handed over the money to my mother in his presence; in fact, when I gave her the money, she expressed fear that Agugu could attack her to get the money. He has proved her right,” David said.

David said that on his return from work a day after the incident, he asked after the mother but Agugu said he did not know of her whereabouts.
“He said he did not know where my mother was. Later in the day, I saw him with a new mobile phone, a new shirt and slippers, and I became curious.

“I asked him (suspect) where he got them from, but he could not give me satisfactory answers.
“Other family members joined me and we kept pestering him over our mother, but he insisted he knew nothing.
“Three days later, I invited the Police to question my brother. That worked immediately as he confessed to killing her,” he said.

David said that the suspect later led family members and the police to the farm where they saw the already decomposing corpse of the woman.
