In your appeal, show evidence of the email trails your spouse has been sending to the ABH.
You mention block account, it seems the spouse in Germany is a student. By law, the applicant spouse of a student will have to block half of the block amount. But to be on a safe side, you can block the whole amount for the applicant.
NB: The present block amount is 11,904 Euros per year

Hi everyone, I need some advice. My family reunification visa was refused on 17 July because the refusal letter says my spouse didn't submit the additional documents they requested. However, she was never contacted or asked to provide any documents. She even sent several emails to the Ausländerbehörde asking if they needed anything, but received no response. We are preparing to submit an appeal ourselves. Has anyone been in a similar situation? What the total amount we should put in a block account I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks you all.

In my own case, I wasn't informed about verification neither did I pay. I only paid for the visa process. To my understanding, they have stopped verification, you are only required to pay for verification if they don't feel satisfied with the doc you submitted. That's my understanding. I will ask my partner to keep bugging them at the Auslanderbehorde

I applied for FRV on 14 February 2024. I had my visa interview on 16 December 2025 and submitted my A1 German certificate on 24 February 2026.
Later, the visa office asked me to send my wife's renewed residence permit, which I sent immediately. Since then, I haven't received any updates or responses.
I have sent several emails to the visa office, but they have not replied. My wife also contacted the Ausländerbehörde, and they responded:
"Unfortunately, I cannot yet tell you anything about your spouse's visa application. This will take a little more time. I ask for your patience a little longer."
Has anyone been in a similar situation? How long did it take before you received an update or a decision?
