Absolutely possible. Na your money now. I think a lady did same last year by faith and she got her TRV. You can take the risk I fyou want to. Faith is all about risk. But it is possible.

Amefrica: Ok, will do just that. I have 2 bags - one for clothes and the other for foodstuffs. I have a backpack too, to put all documents and laptop. Only the foodstuffs-bag dey over-weigh.. grin grin Thanks boss!
why not share the content of both bags to balance the weight so as not to exceed 23kg for each bag.

Zorkky: @fireprincess,pls free slimdel,I'm the person who asked her for the info. You don't expect her to know all the web addresses and yes she's my Guru grin Team Slimdel, yipee. By the way, thanks fireprincess for the add,on my way to pick up my TRV,#cantstopdancing#
@ Zorkky; in case you decide to go with British airways, confirm from them if you will need a transit visa or not so as no to get stranded. i know if transitin through the US, you will need one. I think the UK as well but it will be better if you can confirm.

kellyemms: which school is that u paid not up to 12,000 as im interested in it
The Fee is not the problem in this case. The entry requirement is the challenge here. Entering is tough but possible. If there is a will there is always a way
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by DFodio(m): 12:17pm On Jul 27, 2014
Chatters: All sentiments aside. Universities are highly regarded over colleges. Has anyone ever wondered why getting admission in universities is so tough? Many people choose colleges because it's very easy to get into. Admission can be given in as little as 4 days in colleges. While universities take as much ad 3-6 months to give admissions. Even at that you are not even sure of being admitted. Sometimes even first class graduates are refused uni admission. In colleges, even a pass can gain you admission. Who wants to wait 3-6 months for admission he's not even sure of? Certainly not Naija peeps! angry

For those saying college is more practice oriented. It appears you're not well informed. Do you know there's such a thing as MSc thesis option and MSc course option. Well, MSc thesis option is practical oriented! You engage in ground breaking researches which is not available in colleges. Pray tell me, has any college in the world made any startling and earth shattering discoveries? The truth is colleges are preparatory grounds to enter universities. wink

Ever wondered why colleges don't have options for higher qualifications? College graduates are in demand simply because they offer cheaper labor compared to uni graduates. This is a system that has come to stay.

Work experience matters a lot too. whether college or uni, try and get valuable work experience related to your field. What matters is not whether one attends uni or college but the quality of education you received coupled with dedication on your part.

My dears, saying colleges are lesser to unis is not meant to riddicle anyone. it is just facts; the status quo. Me I'll be attending a polytechnic (later merged with uni) but it doesn't stop me from saying it the way it is. No sentiments. smiley

If your qualification is not strong and you don't have the stomach for suspense, pls don't waste your time with a uni;go straight for a college. cool
Nicely worded.

University of Saskatchewan. MSc (Elect/Elect).

The course you are going for will also determine how much you pay.

justwise: College is for FE while university is for HE, college has always been seen a preparatory institution for university hence the discrimination.

In college you have teachers while in university you have lecturers, the value system has always given university graduates a bigger portion of respect than college graduates, whether this is right or wrong is not the argument.

Foreign students choose college for two reasons: cheaper fees and lenient entry requirements, you may be very intelligent with good result but got no money to get admission into top foreign universities, or you have the money but with poor result.

College is the cheap and cheerful option for those set of prospective students.
I think the MAJOR reason for the preference of a college over a University is Lenient entry requirement. Though there may be other secondary reasons (In an attempt not to oversimplify the argument) .The issue of the fees is relative. I've seen Colleges with very high fees compared to University fees. Take mu case for Instance. My two year tuition combined is not up to 12,000CDN while some colleges will collect as much as that for a year programme

gavinmensah: Huh, no they shuld not go there oo cry
There are arguments for and against on the issue of implementing a PST. but for now, nothing concrete. Well we'll keep our fingers crossed and observe. Although, from what I've read, Majority of Albertans don't want the PST and the reigning political party don't want to go against the people for fear of being voted out.

The whole thing makes for interesting viewing. what my own self, Na Saskatchewan l dey go.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by DFodio(m): 4:56pm On Jul 23, 2014
gavinmensah: Ok I knw these taxes. So Albert no pst, do you knw y please
Alberta's case is a special one. Maybe because of the oil in the region, they feel they don't need the PST. Recently though, there have been a general cry to implement a PST because of deficit in the Provincial budget
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by DFodio(m): 4:08pm On Jul 23, 2014
gavinmensah: y is it 5 in alberta do dey not pay well or is there no job or. I don't know?
There are two kinds of Tax. Goods and service Tax GST. and Provincial sales tax PST. Alberta does not have the PST. lt only has the GST of 5% . Meanwhile Saskatchewan has a PST of 5% and a GST of 5%

Hello House.

Anybody with Shadams contact. He is currently at USask. Need to ask him some questions.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by DFodio(m): 4:20pm On Jul 18, 2014
Amefrica: Mehhn! Words can't express how glad and happy I am right now. After been denied US Student VISA (3 times) and Canada once, I still didn't give up. Mehhn! E nor easy oo..

Below are the documents submitted;

My Uncle is my sponsor, we bear different surnames. My documents are very little.

1st application;

0. The application forms

1. 2 SOAs (6 months) --- personal and business. Personal: 3.3m, business 4.3m. Both have good flows of transactions with over 250m (total credit)

2. CAC docs (Note: this is the only proof of his biz I submitted.) No tax clearance nor invoice.

3. Letter of Sponsorship in his business letter headed paper, signed and stamped.

4. Affidavit of Support.

5. WAEC

6. SOP

7. $100 tuition deposit receipt (as requested by school).

8. Passport photo

9. Int'l passport

10. Mum's birth cert, showing same birthname (surname) with my sponsor.

Denial --- "I am not convinced you will leave Canada at the end of your stay" so they ticked "Purpose of Visit" only as the reason.

2nd appllication..

I didn't touch any of my documents, didn't even update my SOA, it started October and ended May. I submitted all like that.

The only thing I touched is my SOP, thanks to lindyque, missbon, beulah hephzibah. The SOP is a killer grin

My advice to applicants is, try to fill the online forms very well, there were error in my former app forms but I took my time the 2nd time and filled everything correctly.

Thanks all for ur congratulatory messages. I'm most grateful!
Congrats man. Yours is truly an inspiration. The journey begins now

ManTiger: You're joking right!?
All blackberry's may not work in Canada, this is despite the fact that Blackberry is indigenous to Canada. If blacberry was just producing for Canada alone, you can state without fear that all blackberry's will work in Canada. Different regions have different frequency spectrum. the one for North America is different for Europe, different for Asia and Africa. sometimes, there might be an overlap, that is why some will work
