For some time now, Chelsea have been vying for the services of Bayer Leverkusen’s exceptional talent Kai Havertz. While the Blues are said to have come to an agreement with the 21-year-old, the clubs now also seem to be coming closer to an agreement.
The talks between FC Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen about the transfer of Kai Havertz are picking up speed. According to the Guardian, the clubs converged on a transfer for the 21-year-old during a “productive meeting” yesterday Wednesday.

According to ‘Sport Bild’, Chelsea have been in agreement with Havertz for some time. The national player can look forward to a total salary of 100 million euros over five years from the Londoners.

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, says the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is practising “nuclear nepotism”.
Secondus alleged that for one to be given an appointment at federal level, the person must be a native of Daura, the president’s hometown in Katsina state.
He said the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 32 months in power is not what Nigerians bargained.
Secondus said the APC has left the presidential villa spiritually but would move out physically in 2019.
He also said Nigeria was sitting on a keg of gunpowder waiting to explode, adding that only the PDP could save it.
Secondus spoke when he led members of the PDP national working committee (NWC) to the party’s caucus at national assembly “to rub minds and see how we can save this country.”
“I have come with members of the NWC of our party to thank you for the mandate you gave us at the successful National Convention last year and to charge you to redouble your efforts for the eventual humiliation of APC in 2019,” Ike Abonyi, Secondus’ spokesman, quoted the PDP chairman as saying.
“People are being killed on daily basis, nuclear nepotism is in vogue, you have to come from Daura to be appointed into a federal position.
“Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gun powder waiting to explode, only the PDP can save it.
“This is the time for all to stand up to save this country and all eyes are on PDP to lead the way, I am ready and determined even to be arrested for us to regain our liberty in this land.
“What we have ruling Nigeria today at the villa is a broken party and a broken government, spiritually APC has already left the villa, what we must fine tune is the physical accomplishment.”

Liverpool star Adam Lallana was shown a red card on his return from injury for the Under-23 side on Monday.
Lallana has not played since the defeat to Swansea City on January 22 after suffering a "little tear" in his thigh, and his comeback was cut short just past the hour when he reacted angrily to a challenge from Tottenham Under-23 captain George Marsh.
After the pair went up for a header, a furious Lallana jumped on Marsh's back and wrapped his hands around his throat, referee David Rock issuing a straight red card.
Liverpool also had George Johnston dismissed in the 1-0 defeat, in which first-teamers Dominic Solanke and Danny Ings also featured.
While the incident does carry a three-game suspension, FA bylaws seem to indicate it applies to only non-first team matches. That would mean Lallana would be available for selection for Jurgen Klopp over Liverpool's next three Premier League games, which are against Southampton, West Ham and Newcastle.
Injuries have limited the 29-year-old Lallana to just seven appearances this season across the Premier League and FA Cup and just two starts.

Liverpool currently reside in third place in the Premier League, one point above Chelsea in fourth and two above Tottenham in fifth.

Referee Jon Moss awarded Tottenham two controversial penalties in the 2-2 draw at Liverpool, the first after a lengthy discussion with his assistant Ed Smart.
Harry Kane, who missed the spot-kick, was brought down in the box by Reds 'keeper Loris Karius after being put through on goal - a pass that was touched by Dejan Lovren on its way through.
Moss whistled and pointed straight to the spot before consulting with his assistant on the near side, and Smart wanted clarification as to whether the ball did indeed touch Lovren before reaching Kane, who would have been offside had it not.
Moss did not appear sure and consulted with fourth official Martin Atkinson via his mic, before immediately clarifying that he was awarding the penalty. Here is that conversation in full:

The Presidency on Saturday disclosed that over 246 million (246,355,190) meals have been served to date to primary pupils across 20 states in the country.
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Laolu Akande, said that the first meal under the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) was served in December 2016.
According to him, the total figure is expected to reach 313,928,420 meals by the last week of February 2018.
He said “Also, the School Feeding Programme now feeds 6,044,625 pupils in 33,981 public primary schools across 20 states.
“More states are expected to be added to the programme this year. The NHGSFP plans to implement feeding in a total of 28 States, while it aims to link farmers to school feeding markets.

“In the same vein, several milestones were recorded by the Buhari administration’s National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) in 2017, in line with its inclusive growth plan, which includes tackling poverty and hunger, and creating jobs for Nigerians.
“About 40,000 direct jobs have since been created from the School Feeding Programme across the participating states. The 20 states that have so far been covered by the NHGSFP include Anambra, Enugu, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ebonyi, Zamfara, Delta, Abia, Benue, Plateau, Bauchi, Taraba, Kaduna, Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, Imo, Jigawa, Niger, and Kano.
“Also, in 2017, the school feeding programme collaborated with the Federal Ministry of Health to deliver an integrated deworming programme for pupils in all public primary schools classes 1 to 6 across 17 states nationwide.
“Meanwhile, the School Feeding programme now has a social media-based quality assurance tracking system, #TrackWithUs, ensuring that required standards for menu for pupils and meal distribution are adhered to across the states in a transparent manner.
“Similarly, the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) has so far recorded over 280,000 beneficiaries in 21 states, while about 300,000 Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP) micro-credit, interest-free loans have been disbursed nationwide.
“In the same vein, in 2017, the N-power scheme, which is targeted at providing jobs for unemployed young graduates, started its physical verification process for the 2017 applicants. In 2018, more beneficiaries are expected to be added to about 200,000 young graduates currently employed under the scheme.” he said
Noting that a total of N900 billion was appropriated for the SIPs in 2016 and 2017; he said that N500 billion was appropriated in 2016 and N400 billion appropriated in 2017.
He however, said that the total amount released was N110 billion for 2016 and 2017, while the total expenditure was N109 billion.
He added “Below is a breakdown of the N109 billion released between October 2016 and November 2017 for the SIPs, namely: GEEP, CCT, NHGSFP, N-power, and general expenditure.
“The GEEP expenditure was N11,700,200,466, while the CCT gulped N5,235,401,087.
“In the same vein, between October 2016 and November 2017, N22,370,719,017 was expended for the Home-grown School Feeding Programme (HGSFP); while N69,731,256,122 was expended on N-power, which is the Job Creation component of the SIP, during the same period.” he said
