Please Gazzuzz help! My camry 2.2 99 model power steering pump failed leading to the steering not turning freely without much exertion of muscle. I have tried replacing the pump but it appears that after 3 different pumps were fixed, the car steering remains the same. My mechanic is suggesting that it may be from my steering rack, don't know how possible that is. Please Gazzuzz and othe auto gurus in the house I need advise on what to do as I am losing sleep over this.
Note: steering rack was replaced about 4 months ago

Thanks Mayor2013, but all the pumps they have used in replacing my failed pump never worked from the onset.

Thanks GAZZUZZ for being so helpful here, my car which is the same model with that of the poster gives me exactly the same kinda trouble. My mechanic says to change the steering rack it will cost me about 25k. I am hoping he will do a good job at it. I am based in Onitsha, can U direct me to anybody that I can trust?

Please confirm that the vehicle does not shake when you drive it.
The easy thing to check first are the motor mounts. They may be bad.
If not, it can be the torque converter. How long have you had this car and have you ever replaced the transmission oil? If there is no physical damage to the TV or tranny, new oil should fix it. If not, oooo

Bros Its almost a year since I have had the car, took it to d mechanic once to have the transmission oil drained and changed but the guy said that the transmission oil was ok and that I could still use it but then he said under my car needed total overhauling (don't know if that's what U mean by mounts). Pls I need further clarification. Thank you. I do really appreciate.

Please I need help. I drive 1999 camry. Recently I noticed that the car vibrates when I put the gear on drive and hold the break or when in trafic. It does not vibrate when the gear is in park position. The sound of the engine also changes when I put on the AC. Pls I need advice on what to do.

What he wrote has merrit in it, the IPOB people even turned on their very own. Kiosks belonging to housa people were looted and burnt...and their owners hunted, which to say the least, is very bad. Most of those persons claiming to be IPOB members are not 'Igbo' men but miscreants from a certain part called Ab*******.
I make bold to say that the protests has never been entirely peaceful...people are coarsed, threatened and beaten to join these protests. A better place to occupy and be heard is the National assembly and Government houses of different states of the East and not blocking roads plied by ordinary citizens....iPOB and MASSOB should be properly guided.
