TOPIC: RETURNING TO BETHEL! THE DANGERS OF PROSPERITY!

BASIC SCRIPTURES: GENESIS 35: 1 - 7;
REVELATION 2: 4 - 5

Jacob was a great patriarch. When he fled from the presence of his brother Esau after he had taken his birthright, he encountered God at night in a place called Bethel. There, God unfolded to him the Abrahamic covenant,which he had inherited with the accompanying protection and prosperity promises. Jacob went on from Bethel, fresh from his encounter with God as well as the promises, into the house of Laban his uncle, with just a staff in his hand. Twenty years later, God blessed and multiplied him supernaturally. He now had a large family with lots of earthly goods. However, he was no longer conscious of Bethel where he had encountered God. Having become very successful, he had forgotten his agreement with God but the Lord said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, and make thee an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother” (Genesis 35: l). This is what the Holy Ghost is saying to you today: Some of us, when we have become slightly comfortable, forget God or cause THE FIRE OF OLD TO DIE. We forget our FIRST LOVE FOR THE MASTER AND THE VOWS OF SERVING HIM 101% (excessive love for Him) which we made to HIM!

We forget night prayers, FASTING, holiness, forgiveness, attending your local church, giving, tithing, etc. Do you know that to many prosperous believers, studying the scriptures is a neglected issue and a struggle? But remember that God wanted Jacob to dwell in Bethel, His presence – THE PLACE OF HIS FIRST LOVE FOR HIM! God needs you today to return to your Bethel and His holy presence! Pick yourself and family up and tell them: It is time to go back to Bethel. Declare a 1-3 day fast (REVIVIAL FIRE PRAYERS) if need be till your soul burns again for the LORD! Remember: To know the Bible is good but to know its Author is better! Go back to BETHEL!

TOPIC: HE DOES NOT KNOW THE DATE OF HIS RETURN!

V s. 32 of today’s scripture says: “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” The passage has no more difficulty than that in Luke 2:52, where it is said that Jesus increased in wisdom and stature. HE INCREASED BECAUSE THAT WAS HIS HUMAN NATURE! HE HAD A HUMAN NATURE! He grew as a Man in knowledge. As a Man, His knowledge was finite (LIMITED), because the faculties of the human soul are not infinite. As a Man, He often spoke, reasoned, inquired, rested, felt, feared, read, learned, ate, drank, and walked.

These show that as a Man, He was not infinite (UNLIMITED)! Why are not these as difficult as the want of knowledge respecting the particular time of a future event; especially when that time must be made known by God, and when He chose that the Man, Christ Jesus, should grow and think, and speak as a Man? Wow! Do you know that whatever God shows Jesus, Jesus shows it to His body (His church and bride)? When the LORD gave Him a name, He gave that name to us. When the LORD gave Him a place to sit far above principalities, HE GAVE US THAT POSITION! Oh, what a love! If the LORD knows that date, He would leak it to us. Whether the DATE is known or not, ALWAYS BE READY! Live as if you will live forever; also live as if you will die tomorrow! Heaven is REAL! TOPIC: NO FRIEND LIKE HIM!

BASIC SCRIPTURES: ROMANS 8: 29 - 32; HEBREWS 2: 11 - 12

Two years after the arrest of the famous billionaire suspected fraudster, Hushpuppi, his best girlfriend/fiancée is pregnant and set to give birth for another man. Ray Hushpuppi was well known for his lavish lifestyle, and he was always seen with this model in front of his pink Rolls Royce!

However, during Ray Hushpuppi’s imprisonment in the USA, the German-born model, Amirah Dyme, recently shared a photo of her baby bump from pregnancy for another man on her verified Instagram account with over 3.8 million followers! Oh! Man! But what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is: TRUST NO MAN OR WOMAN! Many so-called friends or lovers will desert you in your crisis season! In prosperity, your friends know you! In adversity, you know your friends. You will be BETRAYED BIG TIME if you TRUST men or women. The only friend you can afford to HOLD TO IN THE STORMS of life is Jesus on your inside! He was Abraham’s friend! He spoke to Moses FACE TO FACE as a man speaketh to his friends! Indeed, there is not a friend like the lowly Jesus!

A rule I have had for years is to treat the Lord Jesus Christ as a personal friend. He is is not a creed, a mere doctrine, but He is MY FRIEND! This is why in all our services, I call the BLESSED TRINITY – “OUR 3 FRIENDS.” In Jesus Christ, God took on a human face and became our Friend and Brother (today’s 2nd scripture – Vs. 11). He is the real BIG BROTHER that you can call A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE! He has no voicemail in His heavenly telephone.

He picks your call and hears your cries always. He has no disappointment in His dictionary! He is called “FAITHFUL and TRUE” (Rev. 19:11)! Yea! Indeed – GREAT is HIS FAITHFULNESS (Lam 3: 23)! Wow! You can depend on Him when all others are gone! His delay is not His denial! His delay is His “WORK-INPROGRESS.” Trust Him, hold on to Him and hold out! Shame will never be your name! Amen! Behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee.” I DECREE that you are the next to testify in Jesus name!Your WEEPING and PAIN will dry up in UNUSUAL WAYS! Hold on, look up and hold out even as you praise the LORD now! EXPECT AN UNUSUAL MIRACLE! Amen!

TOPIC: LIVING WITHOUT DIRTY SECRETS (GUILT & FEAR)!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
JAMES 5: 13 - 20

A policewoman found herself having to decide whether to arrest her best friend’s son for a terrible crime. The mom was trying to love her son by keeping him out of juvenile detention, or prison. She was pleading with her friend not to effect the arrest! But if she had succeeded, I’m not convinced that the young man’s life would have gone well. He would have been harbouring the guilt of this dirty secret for ages. He would be constantly remembering what a terrible thing he did; he would be always afraid of someone finding out his secret, he would have to live in hiding not being able to truly confide in another or be fully transparent to friends, he would likely act out his guilt and shame through addiction, depression, or by fully giving in to evil. When we protect others or ourselves from consequences and we refuse to confront bad behavior, we often unintentionally curse them or our lives to never get resolution or growth from our actions. On the other hand, if the policewoman were to arrest the son and bring the son into juvenile detention, then there is no more secret.

There’s no more hiding. The Holy Ghost wants you to PRAYERFULLY CONFIDE in someone that DIRTY SECRET OF YOUR LIFE WHICH IS GIVING YOU GUILT AND PAIN (Do so only to someone you think will not turn it into mockery against you). Today’s scripture says Vs. 16 says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” In the sight of God, we are all forgiven sinners! Trouble is that some men consider themselves less sinful than others or holier than others. Hear Judah Smith: “Nowhere in the Bible, however, do we find God distinguishing between levels of sin. God doesn’t share our rating system. To him, all sin is equally evil, and all sinners are equally lovable.” Wow! So confess, forsake that sin and make peace secretly with God but if you must, then talk to someone!

TOPIC: MAKE YOUR NAME NOW!

BASIC SCRIPTURES: GENESIS 3: 1 - 3; MATTHEW 1: 6 - 11

I meet friends and I hear some talk to me about the need for MALE CHILDREN TO KEEP THE FAMILY NAME. Laughable! A successful FEMALE CHILD is better than a FAILED MALE CHILD! I have always emphasized and I emphasize today again: “Sons Don’t Keep Names.” Which of the children of MOSES kept his name alive? How about Solomon? Who were his children despite having 700 wives? Who are the sons of William Shakespeare? Who are the sons of Aristotle?

Please name the sons of Abraham Lincoln, etc. Another example is Spartacus who died in 71 BC. You know him and your children also know him. In 700 years, people will still read about him. His story has been told and acted on the big screen (cinemas) worldwide.

But, do you know his son? I bet you don’t. His son is not the one keeping his name alive. Spartacus kept his name alive by the way he lived and BY HIS WORKS. Please determine to do the same! Sons don’t keep names alive! The life you are living will determine if your name should be included positively in history or not. If you are still busy running around like a naked toddler, looking for a male child that will keep your name alive, I just want to tell you that you are not serious. In my African tradition, this mistake must be corrected! Your children – MALE OR FEMALE can keep your name alive IF THEY ARE SUCCESSFUL, but the greatest person who can keep your name is YOU! Genesis 12: 2 says: “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.”

Note: “I will… make thy name great.” IT IS GOD THAT MAKES NAMES GREAT BY THE IMPACT YOU MAKE IN HIS KINGDOM/ HUMANITY! It is not the sex of your children – male or female! You are alive! You still have the pen in your hands to write your own story. It’s All About You and God. Pray now!

TOPIC: WHEN IS YOUR INDEPENDENCE DAY?

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
1 SAMUEL 13: 16 - 23

Germany’s main chemical industry association, VCI, warned in late March that chemical plants in the country will likely close, possibly for months, if Russia required payment for natural gas in rubles. “The effect on downstream industries would be severe,” VCI said. VCI’s comments were in response to a Russian law, set to take effect on April 1st, that required payment for gas deliveries to be made in rubles (the Russian currency). Sanctions imposed on Russia prevent German companies from conducting business in rubles.

What the Holy Ghost is saying AGAIN to a user of today’s devotional is: DETERMINE TO GET TO A POINT OF YOUR PERSONAL INDEPENDENCE! BE SELF AND GOD-DEPENDENT! Name today as the beginning of your INDEPENDENCE DAY!YOU CANNOT CONTINUE TO DEPEND ON OTHERS FOREVER! They will fail you someday at short notice! There are believers that cannot pray or read their Bibles or hear from God alone! Somebody else must do it for them! Yes, we live in a world of INTERDEPENDENCE (interrelationship, interconnection, commonality, globalization, etc), but you must set a LIMIT. Now today’s scripture Verse 20 says that all the Israelites went down to the Philistines, to sharpen every man his weapon of war! RIDICULOUS! MAY YOU NOT DEPEND ON YOUR ENEMIES TO SURVIVE!See Vs. 22 – “So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan…” Oh, what a TRAP! The Jews had to take permission from their enemies on the day of battle! That shall not be your portion! Have your own SWORD because men can disappoint you! As you sometimes depend on them, always have a “PLAN B” – I call it “PLAN G” – (GOD)! May you not live your life at the mercy of others! Start your INDEPENDENCE DAY plan now!

TOPIC: HE GAVE HIM A PARTY INSTEAD OF A BEATING!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: 1 KINGS 19: 1 - 8

At a stage in Elijah’s ministry, he fainted and was to give up. In fact, he asked God to kill him. The year is in the third quarter already.

As you use this devotional today, you may be in the valley of your journey; you may be depressed and just confused about what this year or what life itself has in stock for you.

Rejoice however, that if Elijah received grace and strength to finish, then you will finish the 2nd half of the year in honour and not in condemnation/shame.

OH! NOTE THIS: GOD DID NOT REBUKE ELIJAH FOR BEING REAL WITH HIM. HE DID NOT REBUKE HIM FOR HIS FEAR AND ERRORS! HE GAVE HIM A PARTY! WOW! What a God! Elijah had that supernatural cake, drank that cruse of water, and was strengthened to go for 40 days in the strength of the Lord.
Just when he was about to give up, a “divine party” was organized for him and strength came. He received power to continue. No matter how 2022 has been, it is time to arise and eat again. It is time to renew your strength for the journey ahead by waiting on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31) often in this 2nd half of the year!

As I always admonish, you can also learn to take Holy Communion (breaking of bread) personally and with your family from time to time. “Arise and eat again.”

TOPIC: PREGNANCIES FOR SALE! THE SIEGE IS OVER!

BASIC SCRIPTURES:
2 KINGS 6: 24 - 33;
7:1; 18 - 20

Many young girls are being impregnated by their boyfriends in my country, but because they don’t want their families to know about their pregnancies, they meet baby sellers who hide them until they give birth.

Their babies are then sold by these baby sellers who only give them a token of maybe 50,000 naira (about £100)!

There was a case where a police officer that pretended to be a baby buyer, took the man and the child into his private vehicle on pretext of going to pay the man, but instead drove them to a police station.

A similar experience of child eating due to a great famine (poverty) was also recorded in today’s 1st scripture (2 Kings 6:2829). What do you sell in order to get money? Some sell their quality time with God!

The fear of poverty can make you sacrifice your private fellowship with God, by rushing your prayer and Bible study times. So many ‘believers’ are now selling their consciences, while many others are now selling their bodies because of the siege of poverty.

Insist that your case is different. Poverty and the fear of poverty (by the rich), are two evils that must never be allowed a stay in your life, family and ministry! Was the siege of poverty over Samaria not broken? That same God is your God!

Trust Him! Psalm 23:1 declares, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Job 36:11 says, “If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasures.” That is your portion! Philippians 4:19 says: “And my God shall liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Amplified Bible).

That is your portion! Kill anxiety and trust God! Note that money is a good master but a poor servant! Refuse to be chained by it. Life is not designed for struggles! It is designed for fulfillment. Things become light when you refuse to tithe your blessings! As you obey God, your provisions will come!

Even if things get worse, you must not live for gold or you will miss God; when you miss God, you live with lack! Just believe that the Almighty that manages the whole universe cannot mismanage your little life! The siege is over! IT TAKES A YEAR TO PREPARE FOR THE JANUARY WORLD ANOINTING NIGHT .

The LORD is saying that there are 21,397 ODM users who have been deceived and who will be deceived or made to DEPEND ON VISIONERS or PROPHETESSES! Remember that SAMUEL ran to ELI to hear God’s voice! But the LORD is WARNING: “HEAR MY VOICE! Discipline yourself to stay quiet in My presence! I shall show you deep mysteries and direct your steps by dropping My quiet voice in you! Don’t seek to hear from me via others! I shall guide you and lead you.

I can only use others to confirm that which I have spoken to you.” Oh halleluiah! Do you know that many Islamic and occultic leaders operate in DIVINATION better than so many church leaders or prophets? Even some “pastors” run to them for directions! Oh, God have mercy! So train your spirit to hear from God on any matter! Test every spirit! There are 3 voices in the world: 1. The voice of GOD. 2. The voice of the devil. 3. The voice of your flesh! So, how do you TRAIN YOUR SPIRIT to know the difference? Use these three points – 1. By regularly having your DAILY QUIET TIME with THE WORD OF GOD /PRAYERS. Start with 15 to 30 minutes! Use your ODM and FINISHING-THE-BIBLE-PLAN AT THE BACK OF THIS BOOKLET. 2. Forgive others even when deeply hurt by them. 3. Follow your heart always after you pray about any matter! 4. PEACE is a sign that God is speaking YES concerning that decision! A disturbed heart shows God is saying ‘WAIT’ or ‘NO!’ So, in all you do in these end times, TEST EVERY SPIRIT!

What I am starting to notice more and more, is that great things almost always start small. Most of us know that Richard Branson started the Virgin brand with a student magazine, but Virgin is just one of many examples which show that the reality is counterintuitive: actually, the best things we know and love started as tiny things. I’ve found that if I look into my own life, I find similarly that some of the most important achievements I’ve made started as little thoughts from the LORD! This ODM booklet started as a 2-page pamphlet which was given to the public for free, then for just 5 NAIRA! Oh! Wow! Incredible God! That was over 25 years ago! But today, this booklet has gone to NATIONS I have not reached physically! IT IS NOW BIGGER THAN ME! Determine that you will not HURRY into SORRY! Stop planning to start BIG! TOPIC: HUDSON TAYLOR: WHEN NOTHING SEEMS TO BE WORKING!

BASIC SCRIPTURES: LAMENTATIONS 3: 22 - 24;
GALATIANS 6: 5 – 9

Hudson Taylor was a missionary in the late 19th Century to China. He worked and poured his life into bringing the gospel to China and spreading God’s kingdom there, but he saw little blessings for a long time. He persevered for 50 years, through illness, loss of his wife, opposition from other church leaders and all manner of difficulties. When he died in 1905, there were over 800 missionaries in China and 125,000 Christians. It has only been in recent times that Christianity has exploded in China, as a result of the groundwork that Hudson Taylor did over a century ago. Waited for OVER A CENTURY! Wow! It took Jesus 30 years on earth before He started His ministry. You would think that God might have used a quicker method of delivering His message, but He doesn’t work like that, as we’ve seen.

No wonder Leo Tolstoy said: “The two most powerful warriors are PATIENCE and TIME!” Mahatma Ghandi said: “To lose PATIENCE, is to lose the WAR!” Plautus said: “PATIENCE is the best REMEDY for every trouble.” If you are waiting for the fulfilment of something you prayed about, an expectation, etc, refuse to GIVE UP NOW! KEEP WAITING because I see you testifying! God doesn’t operate on our timescale and so often through the Bible, He makes people to wait and instructs us to “be patient and wait on Him”. Yes! It’s not easy, but always remember that GOD IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL and DELAY is not DENIAL! Remember Hudson Taylor! I see multitude CONGRATULATIONS ON YOU! Hold on and hold out!

If you failed to achieve your dreams immediately, stop getting discouraged; change your ways, not your Creator. Remember, trees change their leaves, not their roots.

You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks at you. That means there are times you IGNORE some battles, no matter how painful they are. TOPIC: WHEN EUROPE “FEARED” RUSSIA!

Just before Russia invaded Ukraine, the European Union had imagined what would happen in such a scenario! The question on the lips of many European governments was: “What happens if Vladimir Putin invades Ukraine again?” The West hit Russia with sanctions, and Mr Putin retaliated by shutting down all the pipelines carrying Russian gas to the West! The conventional wisdom used to be that a complete shutdown of piped gas from Russia, which makes up roughly a third of the gas/energy and electricity (light) burned in Europe, was unthinkable. Oh, I am not a politician but what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is that as a child of God, you have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness and you have ALL THE DIVINE GAS and POWER/LIGHT/ ENERGY needed to prevail on planet earth!

Light has come into your life and whatever is the work or a trace of the works of darkness around your life must not be tolerated or allowed to stay beyond this devotional hour! Know and enjoy your rights! STOP RUNNING AROUND LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO SEE VISION OR PRAY FOR YOU! It’s not a sin to depend on others for help, but what happens in the season of war? Never allow the enemy to withdraw your GAS SUPPLY! This is your season to rejoice, no matter the trials. Reject frustration, sinful habits, stagnation, sickness, hopelessness, poverty, depression, confusion, prayerlessness, etc. They do not belong to you at all. You must rejoice again and build up your spiritual gas/growth daily! God wants you to be a POWER HOUSE and never to fear a “spiritual Russia.” As you build your spiritual gas and power supply, hear this: You will laugh again – Psalm 126:2. Yes, you will celebrate again! Your stolen joy is being restored now! There was shock at the naming ceremony of a child in Zimbabwe recently when the father of the child named the baby after the most “controversial” and “hated” man on earth today – Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin! He is the CURRENT president of Russia, a position he has filled since 2012, and previously from 2000 until 2008. Guests at the ceremony expressed deep shock when the name of the child was mentioned. Initially they thought he was joking, but to their surprise, he brought out souvenirs and stickers with the name already printed on them. Afraid of being labeled as, “heartless, wicked and crazy,” most of the guests immediately left the party.

The father of the child said, that to him, Mr Putin, despite his bloody/cruel invasion of UKRAINE, stood for fairness against the WEST and he decided to name his child after him. Wow! I sincerely pray that we would not start seeing an invasion of African countries and airplanes being used as bombs against innocent civilians/children! However, the crucial questions as you go through life are: Who is your hero or antihero? An antihero or antiheroine is a main character in a story who lacks conventional heroic qualities and attributes, such as idealism, courage, and morality. Who are the people you love and hope to copy if necessary? Hebrews 12:2a (Amplified Bible): “Looking away from all that will distract to Jesus, who is the leader and the source of your faith (giving the first incentive for our belief) and is also its finisher (bringing it to maturity and perfection).”

Halleluiah! Jesus said, “Follow me and I will make you…(Mark 1:17). God wants you to make Jesus your hero! Make Him your EXAMPLE! Paul said, “We have not power, but to make ourselves an example unto you to follow” ( 2 Thess. 3:9).

As you follow Jesus, may someone desire to make you his or her hero/heroine! You must constantly ask yourself these questions. “Who am I around? What are they doing for me? What have they got me reading? What have they got me saying? Where do they have me going? What do they have me thinking? And most importantly, what do they have me becoming?” Then ask yourself this question: Is that okay?”

TOPIC: PRETEND TO BE HAPPY

PHILIPPIANS 4: 1 - 8

You noticed from yesterday’s scripture, that laughter is medicine. However, there are times it is not just there. So you may by faith, mimic or pretend that it is there based on God’s Word (Philippians 4:4). This is faith. Notice that Abraham and Sarah laughed surprisingly,or pretended to be rejoicing, when they heard the announcement concerning the birth of Isaac (Genesis 17:17).

The Bible says,”Rejoice always” (Verse 4), even though you are not always problem-free. This is where most people are in a dilemma. The way out is just simple: Pretend and behave to be happy always.When people pretend or feign happiness, they often start feeling better. Positive thoughts and behaviour have a positive impact on the biochemistry of the brain, raising levels of Serotonin [the neurotransmitter linked with feelings of happiness].

All happy people are optimists (believe for the best) and optimism is a skill or behavior you must learn or practice. Nobody was born with it. Pessimists (people who are always expecting the worst), tend to complain. Optimists tend to solve problems. Meet your pastor or serious friends, if need be. Pessimists always use the word “try”. Optimists use the word “do.” Optimists just believe God and they assume/believe that no matter what is happening now, they will succeed. Join that club.

TOPIC: THE VIETNAMESE TEACHER: SMILE!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
1 SAMUEL 30: 1 - 8

A popular Vietnamese teacher and author, suggested that you smile each morning, upon waking up. There is a science behind this recommendation: emotions are combinations of internal feelings and physical response that provide feedback to the brain. If you initiate a smile with your facial muscle, your brain will be “fooled” into responding with the relevant feelings. Despite all that you go through, you can smile every morning! Determine that SATAN WILL NOT SEE YOUR TEARS AGAIN!

The key verse in today’s Basic Scripture is Verse 6: “but David encouraged himself, in the Lord his God.” Behind the pretence which most people put on, a great majority are unhappy (depressed) due to the battles of life, family and ministry. Indeed, life is full of many challenges – unfaithful spouses, wobbling jobs/business, kids that just won’t stay out of trouble or crime, delay to answered prayers, household enemies, unfriendly friends, betrayals, deaths, losses, rise and fall syndromes, stagnation, envy, e.t.c. David cried, but encouraged himself in the Lord. But it has been said before, that after the rain comes the sunshine.

Hear this: WHERE YOU ARE NOW IS NOT THE LAST CHAPTER OF YOUR LIFE AND MINISTRY! Your tomorrow can cause a new chapter in your life, family and ministry. Luke 1:37 says, “With God all things are possible.” So smile always! Smile and encourage yourself like David. David encouraged himself in the Lord. Learn the art of encouraging yourself even when your pastor or nobody is around. Smile and wait on the Lord in HOPE! The advanced learners dictionary defines the word, “SMILE” as “an expression in the face in which the mouth turns up showing happiness, amusement and pleasure.” I see these 3 qualities surfacing in your life, family and ministry in Jesus name! Smile or cry -The choice is yours. Oh! SMILE NOW!

TOPIC: EXTRA STEP! EXTRA SONG!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
GENESIS 26: 9 - 16

There was an anonymous quote I got years ago, that has helped my life till date. It says,“Things may come to those who wait, but the only thing left by those who hustle.” I will quickly add also, “hustle with wisdom.” Proverbs 10: 4 says, “the hand of the diligent makes rich.” Proverbs 12:24 says,”the hand of the diligent shall bear rule.” Proverbs 13:4 says,”the soul of the diligent shall be made fat” (prosperous). Diligence means hard work. Any extra touch on the job, school, ministry, and home for example, will always make a difference.

Determine to work a little bit harder (without affecting your health or spiritual development), than others do. Some are lazy in Bible studies and prayers! DO MORE THAN WHAT OTHERS ARE DOING! The word “laziness” is replaced by the word “slothfulness” in the Bible sometimes. And Proverbs 18:9 declares that, “he that is slothful (lazy) in his work is a great waster.” May you not waste your appointed years on earth. Those 4 words, “Not Slothful In Business” in Romans 12:11, have been propelling my lifé, family and ministry! If Isaac (Genesis 26:12), whose father was very rich, could sow by tilling the hard ground in a desert, despite all the promises of prosperity God gave to his family (God gave him a 100-fold increase), then we have no excuse. Reject slothfulness, friends and things that waste your destiny. The right choice and success is not always by luck. Hard work is always involved! Till your ground extra more!

TOPIC: THE MARSHALL WHITE TRAGEDY!

Sometime ago, a man called Marshall Applewhite, founded what he called Heaven’s Gate. He told people to follow him; and he promised his followers that he would teach them how to move to a higher level of life. He also promised to lift them from this terrestrial bondage into an exalted state of being. In 1977, he persuaded those who heeded his call to take their lives. And so it happened: they all died with Marshall Applewhite.

In today’s world, many wrong groups and so-called churches are springing up with all kinds of doctrines, teachings and injunctions. But Apostle Paul warned that, “Though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed”(Galatians 1:. Do not be carried away by the fast-talkers and those with swift, sweet and gullible words.Test the spirits whether they are of God (1 John 4:1). Remember this, that “other foundation can no man lay, than is laid,which is Christ Jesus”(1 Cor. 3:11). Rev. Oswald Chambers many years ago, said:

If you are devoted to the cause of humanity, you will soon be exhausted, and have your heart broken,by ingratitude. But if the main spring of your service is love for Jesus, you can serve men, although, they treat you as doormat. Never look for Justice in this world, but never cease to give it.

From today’s scripture, determine to LIVE LIKE THE BEREAN CHRISTIANS! These believers lived in a place (city) called Berea and they possessed a remarkable character that each and every child of God today must have.

Vs. 11 says: “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Wow! Unlike other Jews, the Bereans were quick to receive the message that Paul and Silas brought to them, but they weren’t NAIVE – they didn’t take Paul’s word for it, but “searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” Learn to search the scriptures for yourself NO MATTER WHO HAS PREACHED OR WHAT THEY PREACHED! Don’t be naive and lazy!

TOPIC: WHY BRONZE MEDALISTS ARE HAPPIER!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
EXODUS 4: 1 - 9

Have you noticed that a Bronze medalist is always happier than a Silver medalist at the end of the game? Studies have shown that the silver medalist should be happier, but it is not so, from experience! Yes! It is not an incidental finding, but a proven fact in many research studies after studying the reactions of Silver medalists and Bronze medalists. During the last AFCON (African Cup Of Nations football tournament), Cameroon won the third place (bronze) on penalties and they were jubilating. But Egypt lost the final on penalties to Senegal and they were crying. Ideally, a Silver medalist should be happier than a Bronze medalist, but the human mind doesn’t work like mathematics. This happens because of the phenomenon known as COUNTERFACTUAL THINKING. The Silver medalist thinks, “Oh, I couldn’t win the Gold medal. Why couldn’t I win the Gold medal?” The Bronze medalist thinks, “At least I got a medal!” Silver medal is won after losing, but Bronze medal is won after winning!

This also happens in our lives. We don’t appreciate what we have, but feel depressed over what we don’t have. Let us be grateful for our blessings! Learn to always count your blessings to stay positive and motivated! The HOLY GHOST IS SAYING: “STOP LOOKING AT WHAT YOU LOST! START LOOKING AT WHAT YOU HAVE LEFT! I WILL DO NEW and GREAT THINGS FROM WHAT IS LEFT – THE ROD – IN YOUR HANDS! Ask Moses – Vs. 2: “And the LORD said unto him, ‘What is that in thine hand?’ And he said, ‘A rod.” Though he lost his Egyptian throne, that ROD in his hand was enough! Look at what you have left! TOPIC: THE DANGEROUS PILOT!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
PSALM 105: 8 - 15

A pilot who lied about his flying experience to secure a job at British Airways was said to have been caught when he pressed a button ‘no qualified pilot would.’ The pilot was employed by BA CityFlyer and Stobart Air. Leon, a former British Airways pilot, was jailed for fraud after admitting that he falsified his flying experience. A source told The Times that suspicions arose after he pressed a button “no qualified pilot would.”

The former pilot faked training certificates and falsely claimed to have flown 1,610 hours as a captain. The former British Airways pilot was sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty to falsifying his flying experience. The Holy Ghost is asking a user of today’s devotional to decree that God will EXPOSE EVERY LIE AND WICKEDNESS around your life, family and ministry! The LORD will EXPOSE every UNFRIENDLY FRIEND AND scatter their plans!

Can you imagine a pilot lying? What if he had crashed the plane and killed hundreds of people? I make a decree: Those who are not supposed to be around your life, family and ministry will PRESS THE WRONG BUTTON and THEY WILL BE EXPOSED/FLUSHED OUT! Any man or woman planning evil against you will end in DISGRACE because Psalm 105:15 will CONTEND with them – “Touch not Mine anointed, and do My prophets no harm.” Yea! Yesterday’s devotional, the popular actor Smith, after resigning for slapping the comedian Mr. Chris Rock on stage during the last OSCAR AWARD CEREMONY, concluded that, “Change takes time and I am committed to doing the work to ensure that I never again allow violence to overtake reason.” So pathetic! The word “REGRETS” and “NEVER AGAIN” which he used are twins! Indiscipline and lack of control of certain crucial areas of your life, family and ministry, always ends with “HAD-I KNOWN” or “LORD, GIVE ME ONE MORE CHANCE” (Samson) or “NEVER AGAIN.” Use today’s devotional to check up any area of your life, family and ministry that needs DISCIPLINE! Hear this: “MOTIVATION KEEPS YOU GOING! DISCIPLINE KEEPS YOU GROWING! Jim Rohn said: “DISCIPLINE IS THE BRIDGE between goals and accomplishments!” Very true! But I know that it is as impossible to find a perfect man as it is to find 100 percent pure gold! So train yourself in small things to be disciplined! Are you disciplined in Telephone and Social media time management? Can you control yourself when provoked? Do you beat your wife or are you a toxic wife (disobedient and argumentative) to your husband? It is discipline that will help you follow through on the commitment you made on your wedding day. Always declare that you can do all things through Christ (Phil 4: 13). Discipline is doing something no matter your emotional state! Close with this: “One-half of life is luck; the other half is discipline – and that’s the important half, for without discipline you wouldn’t know what to do with luck” (Carl Zuckmayer). Learn from the mistake of Mr. Smith!

TOPIC: THE OSCAR SLAP! HE RESIGNED – 1

NUMBERS 20: 3 - 13

It was George Bernard Shaw who penned: “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” US actor, Will Smith, has resigned from the Oscars Academy after slapping comedian Chris Rock on stage during the 2022 OSCAR AWARD CEREMONY in which he won the best actor of the year!

So his day of glory became his day of shame! He said: “I am resigning from membership of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. I am heartbroken and would accept any further consequences the Board deems appropriate.

My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable.” Recollect that Smith slapped the comedian after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, a result of the hair-loss condition alopecia. Wow! But the Holy Ghost wants you to know that without self-discipline, shame and regret will be your last bus-stop!

Things you cannot control will create your pathway to stagnation, demotion and REGRETS! Can you control your temper, your appetite for food, sex, fashion, unwise spending of money, gossip, praying in the day or night, study of the Word, etc? Hear Jackson Brown, Jr.: “Talent without discipline is like an octopus on roller skates. There’s plenty of movement, but you never know if it’s going to be forward, backwards, or sideways.”

Solomon could not control his sexual urge/love of women! Moses could not control his temper! Judas and Gehazi could not control their love of money! TOPIC: COWS DON’T GIVE MILK

A father used to say to his children when they were young: “When you all reach the age of 12, I will tell you the secret of life.” One day when the oldest child turned 12, he anxiously asked his father what was the secret of life. The father replied that he was going to tell him, but that he should not reveal it to his brothers. The father told him: “The secret of life is this: The cow does not give milk.” “What are you saying?” asked the boy shockingly! “As you hear it, son: The cow does not give milk, you have to milk it.

You have to get up at 4 in the morning, go to the field, walk through the corral full of manure, tie the tail, hobble the legs of the cow, sit on the stool, place the bucket and do the work yourself.” That is the secret of life; the cow does not give milk. You milk her or you don’t get milk. There is this generation that thinks that cows GIVE milk, that things are automatic and free; their mentality is “I wish, I ask, I claim it now and I obtain now.” They have been accustomed to getting whatever they want the easy way…But no, life is not a matter of wishing, asking and obtaining. The things that one receives are the effort of what one does. Happiness is the result of effort. Lack of effort creates frustration. Never go through life with the mentality that the government, parents, friends, your pastor, etc, is going to give your family, business, or ministry everything they need in life. “Cows don’t give milk; you have to work for it.”

No wonder Colin Powell opined: “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” Gordon B. Hinckley penned: “Without hard work, nothing grows but weeds.” God forbid! Determine to double your work rate even when you DO NOT FEEL LIKE IT! You shall eat the fruit of your labour and your “cow milk” shall NEVER end in Jesus name.

TOPIC: THE WORD AND THE SOCIAL MEDIA TRAP!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
PSALM 119: 57 - 80

Social Media can be a place where sin can run unchecked. From a disconnected mindset of privacy, the internet can be used to manifest evil things; to show evil things and make friendships that can lead to a life filled with sin.

THE INTERNET IS ALSO A BLESSING IF WELL USED! A Christian must be on guard and regulate those things that you participate in when NOBODY IS WATCHING YOU! What do you watch or read WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING? For example, if you continually view angry posts, it can motivate you to become hot-tempered! Remember that as a man thinketh, so is he!

THE mind IS THE MAN! You must remember your testimony (LIFESTYLE) as a child of God, when using social media! IT CAN BE A TRAP TO DRY UP YOUR OIL! If you have people on your friends list that are posting inappropriate pictures, comments or posts to include nudity, perversion and profanity, it is YOUR responsibility to unlike, unfollow and not to participate with those people.

BE A LIGHT TO THE WORLD; RUN FROM EVIL POSTS! 1 Peter 2:12 (KJV) says: “Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” The Bible on-line or in-app may be more convenient to read, especially if you are ON THE GO or if you remember a verse but not where the verse is.

Using the Bible app in church may be distracting to others. The Bible on paper may be more convenient when reading longer sections of the Bible, and it’s much easier to highlight or annotate. In fact, Pope Francis made a statement I have always cherished: “Carry and read your Bible with as much dedication as you do to your mobile phones.” Wow! Dear child of God, there is no excuse whatsoever anymore, why your knowledge base of the Word of God should not grow. David said “… give me understanding that I may learn Thy commandments” (Psalm 119:73). It’s time to learn afresh His commandments (THE WORD).

In this age of Internet, conquer laziness and FINISH YOUR BIBLE! You could do a study on a topic you don’t understand, for example, the Blood of Jesus, power, holiness, or just read the books till you finish your Bible. Many books can inform! Only the Bible can transform! Fall in love with the Bible again. Use technology positively!

TOPIC: TEACHERS REWARDS! THE PAYMASTER

BASIC SCRIPTURE: HEBREWS 11:1 - 6

Every employee gets paid at the end of an agreed period of time after satisfactory performance of such duties. God became your employer the day you got Born Again. From that day, whatever you do for God thereafter, is adequately rewarded. Verse 6b of today’s scripture says, “He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” The Holy Ghost is speaking to 23,190 users of today’s devotional: “Refuse to listen to the voice of the father of all liars! Your Labour of love in the Kingdom shall not be in vain.” In this 2nd half of 2022 and beyond, whatever your hands find to do for Him, do it extremely well, because your reward starts here and not in heaven. As in today’s devotional heading, there is a popular saying in Africa that, “a teacher’s reward is in heaven.” But it is not so when it comes to God. Read and listen to Jesus in Mark 10:29-30: “Verily, I say unto you, there is no man that hath left house, brethren or sisters or father, or mother or wife or lands e.t.c, for My sake and the gospel’s, but he shall receive an hundred fold now in this time (this present life) and… in the world to come (the life after).” Hallelujah! David said,”I have been young and now am old, yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread” (Psalm 37:25). In the same Psalm (Verses 18-19), he said, “The Lord knoweth the days of the upright and their inheritance(reward) shall be forever (now and then), they shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine, they shall be satisfied”. There was a sister who had a hunched back. She swept her local church faithfully and regularly before and after each service. One day, as she was again working (sweeping) for God, the hunch back disappeared. God swept it away. That shall be your portion because, God is a rewarder and a wonderful paymaster.

TOPIC: COMRADES IN IGNORANCE

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
PROVERBS 4: 1 - 9

Six-year-old Junior had gone to bed with his mum’s classroom ruler tucked into the sheets. His mum, who was a teacher, was surprised when she woke him up the following morning. “What are you doing with my ruler by your side?” she asked, as she hit her boy with a pillow. When he managed to get up, he said, “I just wanted to know for how long l have slept.” 1 am sure you must be laughing over this exchange of a clock for a ruler. But it will surprise you that many adults are much more ignorant concerning how to deal with the basic problems of life. They are comrades in ignorance with this little lad. Proverbs 11:9 says that “through knowledge shall the just be delivered.” Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” In today’s scripture, Verse 7 says, “Wisdom and understanding (knowledge) is the principal (major) thing.” God’s Word is the major source of knowledge and contains the key to victory in life. Proverbs 8:34 says: “Blessed is the man that heareth, watching daily at my gate.”

Thank God for a manual like ODM to help you. Verse 36 of Proverbs 8 says, “All they that hate me(knowledge)love death.” The key over sickness, discouragement, fear of death, failure, lack of progress, etc, is in the WORD. For additional reading, see Proverbs 8: 1-21. Don’t allow sleep, laziness or procrastination to rob you of your heritage. Get knowledge! It is commonly said, that ignorance is a disease and if you think education is expensive, try ignorance. It’s double the price you pay for getting knowledge. In this 2nd half of 2022, determine that you will finish your Bible and you will invest in spiritual maerials like ODM copies, other books, etc. Investing in music is good but not enough! I see you shouting, “VICTORY AT LAST.”
