Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking. in the words of Bryan Scudamore, Despite the documented benefits, of public speaking, 74% of people are terrified to get in front of an audience. But if you’ve got a business to run and a story to tell, it’s time to face that fear and embrace the power of public speaking. share your experiences , challenges, the effect on yor career or tell us how you've been able to overcome the fear of public speaking |

health clearance is a must for Uniben students. the rumour is you cannot apply for hostel accommodation without completing the health clearance. Thus, students have trooped to the health center in their numbers for this clearance before next semester when bed space allocation will begin. If you're a student here in Uniben you must already be accustomed to the long hours of queuing, pushing, shoving and quarrels that come with any form of clearance in the school. Uniben never seems to get it right when it comes to "clearance" or crowd control. 100level clearance used to be hell .It took a stampede and near loss of life for the school to come up with a better plan. well this time around , the poor organisation, that's not just the appalling part of this health clearance. The staff tells students they are out of stock of apparatus but that's a lie. the staff has hoarded the apparatus needed for the blood test which is part of one of the many energy sapping processes thereby putting a hold on the whole process indefinitely. They have now begun selling these apparatus to those who can afford it. collecting money from students struggling to survive in school for what ought to be available for free. I wish to draw the attention of the public and the government to this corruption and I hope proactive steps are taken to stop this nauseating act immediately. cc; Fynestboi , olawalebabs , Richiez |

*EDO STATE GOVERNMENT* versus *UNIBEN STUDENTS* Composed and presented by *THE STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT*, UNIVERSITY OF BENIN. *A CALL FOR JUSTICE* ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ In a society as vast and endowed like Nigeria, it is painful that we still struggle and agitate before we can get the dividends of democracy. A system of government by the people especially by the majority. A system of government were the Supreme power rest on the people. But what is the hope of the common man when the man with the mandate turns out to be the oppressor of the masses. WHAT HAVE UNIBEN STUDENTS DONE TO DESERVE THIS? It is indeed good to pay tax to any constituted authority but what is the way forward for university of Benin students when the much reverend tax and harmonised tax turns out to be an act of exploitation? On August 24th, 2017, the STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT had a meeting with the Deputy governor Rt hon Phillip Shaibu as regard the new harmonised levies and taxes pegged at 200 Naira daily which was expected to be paid to officials of Oredo local government council. The Deputy state governor declared publicly before pressmen and women that he will lead a protest along side the Students Union government should the shuttle bus drivers decide to increase their shuttle fare from Uniben to Ringroad and New benin as a result of the new levy(N200) which was N50 under the previous governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. (See Vanguard newspaper, 25th August 2017 as proof of this claim). The Students Union government executives left the state house reaching an agreement with the state government that the only levy to be paid, is N200 to Oredo local government and not Akhugbe Ventures. To our surprise, the state government as at today, October 7th 2017, increased the levy to N800 disrespecting our initial agreement and Egor local government now charge N200, Ovia North East N200 making everything N1,200 from the University shuttle buses. WHAT KIND OF EXPLOITATION IS THIS? WHERE IS THE DIVIDEND OF DEMOCRACY? WHO IS ROBBING WHO? WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR NIGERIA STUDENTS IN EDO STATE? This demonic levy made the University shuttle drivers to increase their fare from N50 to N70 today because they have families to feed. After putting a call across to the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, he told the Students Union government to go to hell that the University did not support his governorship ambition. JUST IMAGINE!!!!!! The students Union government as at this minute have exhaust all form of dialogue. We will not stand and watch our students suffer. Our civil servants parents have not been paid their salaries, pensioners now feed from hand to mouth and to make things worse, there have not been increase in the minimum wage and the government is increasing levies and they are not even concerned about the welfare and plight of the youths who they claim are the future leaders of Nigeria. In conclusion, the Students Union government, University of Benin call on UNIBEN STUDENTS, ACTIVISTS, COMRADES AND YOUTHS to be prepared for............ Since the state government have push us to the wall, it is now officially the EDO STATE GOVERNMENT versus UNIBEN STUDENTS. LET THE DANCE BEGIN. cc; Fynestboi , olawalebabs , Richiez 1 Like |

AlphaT1:I don't think it'd be hard for uniben to try this style. but of course it won't since most people are looking to make money from the process . It is commendable, the style that ABU has employed. For most UNIBEN students, that happens only in America . 1 Like |

Nma27:that's how it should be. But here they don't do that. So that they can manipulate. Most people who get spaces dont even need them. They just want to sell for money. |

Uzoraustin:that's even cheap unless it's not corner A or B most girls sell for between 50-60k . Another shocking revelation. lecturers and other staff get spaces for students in agreement that these students will sell these spaces and then give half of the profit to the lecturer/staff 3 Likes |

You'd think that a university as old as UNIBEN would have mastered its act and learnt from its past mistakes right? well that is not the case at all actually. the picture below shows students outside hall 2, a girls' hostel, throats dry from the sun kissing them right on the head as they waited to enter the hostel. I'll tell you why this has become a reoccurring event. UNIBEN doesn't start it's hostel application early enough. it waits until the start of a new session before starting its bed allocation process. It is thus forced to provide temporary accommodation for students. Girls are sent to hall 4(a Boys' hostel) and guys sent to hall 2(a girls'hostel) and then ask everyone out when it has finished allocating bed spaces. So girls move out for guys who were allocated spaces to occupy the hostel and vice versa. That's what's going on in the attached pictures. Now, coupled with the fact that it doesn't start its application early, the process is riddled with so much corruption. Only those who have connections in high places are sure of anything. Most times people end up stranded, without accommodation due to the transparency lacking in the process. More shocking, laughable actually, is the fact that this application is done online. But you don't get allocated a bed immediately after applying online. Why? then they wouldn't be able to manipulate the process now, would they? so you have to wait for a list to be pasted showing the names of those allocated bed spaces. Well, students were asked out of temporary accommodation after pasting just a few lists. did i mention this happens every year? UNIBEN! maybe age doesn't equal wisdom after all ![]() hmm it's been a long day. I must sleep now. 8 Likes 4 Shares

Francis95:wow. You are sick and you don't even know it. I don't know if to be alarmed at the fact that you just threatened to rape a girl or that you think it is ok to joke with a matter of such great sensitivity. We see you for who you truly are. A messed up psycho in dire need of help. Not 'kidding' about this one. 7 Likes |
