BRITISH IN NIGERIA 1860-1960
COLONIZATION Nigeria was under British colonization for 100 years after the ATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE.
Under colonization only 2% of Nigerians were LITERATE. This forced NIGERIANS to be hard labour to the British.

EUROPEANS IN NIGERIA
The first Europeans in Nigeria were PORTUGESE AND THEY SOLD SLAVES from LAGOS PORT. This trade started in the 1500s-1860s.
The British and French also joined the Portugese in Lagos Slave trade. While the SE Nigerian port was also involved in the slave trade as well.

You're dumb again between 1658 and 1790 the likes of Cape Town were small farms and there were wars between Africans, Khoisan who fought against Europeans. The British took over Cape Town by force in the 1st Anglo Boer war and that forced most boers(mixture of German,Swedes,Dutch,French and Belgians etc.) to move into inland of S.A these were small groups led by individuals. Some clashed with Africans and Khoisan while some intermarried with locals like Xhosas and Zulus in KZN and got pieces of land...In the second Anglo Boer British moved into inland of SA and took most the land that belonged to Africans after wars. Some boers resisted British invation and were punished and ater the war most Boers were POOR AND MULNUTRITIONED. Some died while some went to African chiefs and begged for land to farm for their small families.

In 1910-1948 The British started the UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA and controlled the whole S.A Out of sympathy for their fellow Europeans they gave boers pieces of land to start farming while British and their descendants controlled mines,economy and other businesses.

In 1948 Brits lost interest in S.A and were planning to moved of Africa in all their colonies including Ghana,Nigeria etc..they left west africa in 1957-1960s. In S.A they gave the power to boers while controlling them from LONDON. Industrialization in SA happened in 1960s-1970s under the BRITISH USING MONEY FROM MINING TO DEVELOP S.A.

Theres no Anglo-Dutch in S.A. The only people we have here are descendants of Anglo-Saxons/Germanic people (English,Scots,German,Dutch,Swedes,French etc..) most moved into S.A. between 1658 and 1820.

Let me give u a free class on boers theyr not Dutch as most people think. Most boers descend from GERMANS AND SWEDES, BELIGIANS AND FRENCH.
