Why is it that when ones opinion differs it amounts to that person being insulted other than the other party to come up with a more convincing reason/s as to why his/her idea is the best?

Few days ago Ojukwu's son was painted as a nobody and today his wife is being insulted like never before , yet some people are bold enough to claim that they're upholding his legacy/idealogy. Let us all be more civil in responding to issues of national interest.
