Good day all.
Has the VFS global system improved the German visa appointment process by a lot because it seems like it’s impossible to join the waitlist without an admission letter or opting for an incompatible Visa category.
You can't join waiting list without an admission letter

Based on your advice, can I go ahead and book now or wait till April? I haven't gotten an admission letter yet. I've just recently started my school application.
If you have an admission letter you can book but it takes 2 years. Without admission letter you can't book an appointment. But here is the twist there, if you eventually get the appointment for a visa after 2 years long wait and arrive Germany for your masters, you must graduate in the next 2 years otherwise you will
have problem changing your visa to post study and automatically might be exmatriculated if you fail to graduate or even face deportation because as a master's student you have a maximum of 8 semesters but unfortunately a lot of us has already used 4 in search for an appointments date.

Hi guys, I am new here. I want to apply for the germany study visa, and in the first form? I was asked if I already have an admission to a school in germany, which I don't. My question is, do I say yes to having an admission, and proceed with the visa application (this is because I hear that the application can take up to 2 years), or is the right step to seek an admission first?
If you say yes then they ask for confirmation of an admission letter, God help you if you put anything fake!! Just know it's total ban and yes it's 2 years to get an appointment to study in Germany.

Does Spain accept third class for Masters? I have over 10years study gap. Those who are there already, kindly advice. Thank you
Yes, Spain accepts 10year study gaps and even 3rd class pending on the school. Just try to justify it with a motivational letter explaining what you have been doing over the years and you would be fine.

The whole point of the visa is to search for a job in germany and the german government really doesnt care if you get a job or not as long as youre giving the country your money its a win for them.

Its then up to you the person whos applying to do all the research before you go there.
1. Is the job market for my profession good? Eg is it in ( Tech, medicine) which are good or is it in ( law, business, psychology etc) which are generally bad

2. How big of a deal is knowing german in my profession? Is there alot of international companies that dont prioritize german? For example medicine, nursing, etc require high german knowledge.

3. What city is the best for me? Based on my budget and job market there? What city makes the perfect correlation for that? I see most people picking berlin, which in reality theres too much competition there.

4. How long can i survive in the country with my own money without completely draining my bank account? So ideally you would want to stay minimum 6months to have a chance of getting a job. Can you do that? Would it be better to stay in nigeria for awhile while searching for a job then go to germany if i am getting interviews? Maybe?

5. For the part time 20hrs per week that youre eligible for with the opportunity card. What type of job are you willing to do? This is where i know nigerians have big ego even though theyre struggling lol, are you willing to wash plates? Work in a farm? Clean houses? Etc

These are just some examples i am giving you guys, theres much more that i cant list all of them, i have been to germany for internship and i have been in europe for 6 years, its not easy you have to work hard and plan ahead, germany is also known to be hard to find housing there unless youre willing to pay alot. Anyways guys goodluck, try to think and plan ahead very well because how well you plan on this could be the decider if its a trap or not.
You gave a perfect analysis to this. I love the fact that you stated it exactly how it is so people would be guided and know what to expect as opposed to those that sell dreams that don't exist because they either wants traffic on their pages or do business.

I'm also in Germany and see a lot of people stranded on an opportunity card because they can't get a job and most companies like Amazon, Tesla and co, won't allow them take up menial jobs because they feel the visa is not meant for that purpose (Even if it was stated clearly that people on opportunity card can do Menial part-time jobs)

Worse part it's just one year but I heard renewable with another block account. *DISCLAIMER* Please this is not to discourage anyone from coming but just make you guys know what to expect when you enter Germany.
Goodluck to everyone!!
TravelRe: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by digilexsolution:
I would advise anyone coming on opportunity card to get a job or get as many interview calls as possible before coming on an opportunity card. It's no joke! Dudes here can't even do menial jobs to survive because they said they don't understand the clause on their visa.. Except say you get other plans..

I don't think so,Embassy is still in 2023 October/November
So someone who applied 2024 he should look at entering Germany 2026 or even longer if the backlog persist.

Write to the embassy, explain your situation to them and ask for a rescheduled date. They are likely going to schedule a new date for you.

My situation was similar, earlier this year (January 2025) I received my email for the scheduled appointment date, I had to explain to them my situation that I have not gotten admission yet and that I have waited since January 2023. They rescheduled my date from February 2025 to September 2025. Now I have been admitted and waiting to go for my appointment on the new date.
I won't even advise you to come with their so called opportunity card. It's a waste of effort.

For the first class graduates, I’m suggesting that sending a mail to the embassy to call their attention to the inability to apply on category A (Study specific option) might bring an adjustment.
Even, submitting as a scholarship student has been putting people on more than one year waiting list as of March, until this month when it changed to 2-8 weeks.
No more category A . It's been scrapped!
Everyone are now in thesame bucket...

@Hannania Good Morning. I booked July 2024. I have summer 2025 admission and want to defer. The school asked me why,I told them its the waiting time at the Embassy that it will only be faster if i had a scholarship. They said to process the scholarship will take time and i wont be able to meet up with the resumption date of 17th March. The school just notified me that they've send a message to the Embassy trying to see if they can give me an appointment date (I did not send them 😔🤦‍♂️). I hope this will not affect my future applications or give me a bad record at the Embassy?? Make this school no put me for wahala oo abeg 🤲
You should even be happy for your school to make that sacrifice because typically schools don't interfere with embassy matters..

Thank you. I can't imagine waiting over one year for an appointment.

Can someone even call the Lagos embassy to ask these things. One year is a very long time.
What about student visa that takes about 2 and a half years. They know about it. For me is a deliberate way to cut down numbers of applicants from some particular countries. But again waiting that long with dwindling exchange rate is very risky.

I'm sorry to bother you guys since this is for student visa but I'm urgently in need of advice about the opportunity card.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get appointment for opportunity Card/Chancekarte? I have someone that needs to leave the country as soon as possible. Before we go ahead with the blocked account, we would like to know if the person can get an appointment and travel in 3-4 months.

The person finished a masters in Germany if that changes anything.
Ah, error. He wouldn't have comeback.
Appointments for any category of visa is hard from Nigeria. Is as though the German embassy isn't functioning in Nigeria.

Waiting for a visa more than 3 months is an indication that it wasn't approved.

What I said is nothing but the truth, why give someone fake hope. Smell the curfew and don't live in denial. They have completely blacklisted Nigerians and Cameroon and hence appointment date would even get longer. And if care is not taken dem go soon touch light Ghana where most of our people dey run go because they are aware. Applying from Nigeria is a waste.
Currently in Germany so I know what I'm saying.
If you can wait then wait don't make it look as if anybody is discouraging anybody because the truth is been spilled out..

Hello house, I have a simple straight question and I need an answer

With the sum of 10million naira , do I have a chance to relocate to Germany by any route?
You should not even consider any route because probably you are desperate to enter Germany. Study of any sort or work is still the best. If you use 10M do tourist for a country like Germany then truth be say you go suffer... Because they don't grant asylum and they deport a lot.

Do German universities still accept second class lower bachelor for masters? If yes
Which universities accept this second class lower easily?
You can even get a direct master's with third class here in Germany. It depends on the school, how good your profile and motivational letter is.
