Folarin is the eighth mixtape by American rapper Wale, it was released on December 24, 2012. The mixtape features guest appearances from Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Tiara Thomas, Scarface, Nipsey Hussle, French Montana, Chinx Drugz, Jhené Aiko, Travis Porter, Trinidad James, Hit-Boy, and Chrisette Michele among others.

That doesn't necessarily mean Wale has completely exorcised his inclination to be a humongous cornball-- the Tiara Thomas-featuring "Bad" features some more of that cringe-worthy "Diced Pineapples"-style poetry-- but Folarin, in its way,approximates something close to being Wale's version of Rich Forever.

He's still the Wale you love or revile, a rapper who almost always lyrically overcooks it ("We out Garfield, we goin' Odie / With rap performance of Forbes got me catchin' up Oprah", but it sounds like he's letting himself off the hook a little bit for his major label false start.

So, in a sense it's exciting to herald Wale's new mixtape, Folarin (his surname), as his best release since the initial hype-generator The Mixtape About Nothing.

Attention Deficit was such an overreach that most folks wrote Wale off; not even a realignment with one of modern rap's biggest stars could fully invigorate the reputation of the one-time Next Big Thing.

Unorthodox Jukebox is the second studio album by American singer and songwriter Bruno Mars. It was released on December 7, 2012, by Atlantic Records. It serves as the follow-up to Mars' debut record Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010). The album was initially planned to be more "energetic" than his previous work, but ended presenting a wide range of styles such as reggae rock, disco, and soul music.

"Locked Out of Heaven" was serviced to mainstream radio stations and was digitally released was on October 1, 2012 as the album's lead single. It received positive commentary from music critics, who praised its reggae, rock and funky beat, but also its lyrics for talking about passion in a "tidy and impeccable" way.

"When I Was Your Man" was released on January 15, 2013 as the album's second single.It had previously been premiered as the album's third and final promotional single one month and a half prior to its stand-alone release. The track was critically acclaimed, receiving praising for being an "emotional ballad"and for featuring a "minimal musical accompaniment".

"Young Girls" was released as the fifth and final single from the album in selected countries, including Australia, North America and United Kingdom. Mars announced its availability during an interview with Nova 96.9, an Australian radio station, on November 26, 2013.

"Angels" opens Coexist with a restrained style and soft-spoken verses about the idea of being in love.Croft's lyrics compare the premature end of a relationship to "dreaming of angels, and leaving without them", and touch on the private knowledge that is acquired through intimacy. "Chained" experiments with musical buildup and subtle flourishes, and muffled 2-step beats. Its lyrics lament a couple's distance from each other.

Coexist is the second studio album by English indie pop band the xx. It was released 5 September 2012 by the Young Turks record label.

After a break from touring for their 2009 self-titled first album, the xx's band members began to write songs individually before they recorded Coexist from November 2011 to May 2012. For the album, the group drew on personal experiences for their songwriting, while their music was influenced by the electronic dance scene that occurred when they had been away on tour. It was produced by the band's Jamie Smith, who had pursued electronic dance on other projects and developed as a DJ prior to the album.

The best beats here-- the ones that act as the backbone of the album-- are appropriately sinister, and actually improve on the Luger template that has dominated street rap for the past 18 months. There's the grinding churn of "MMG Untouchable", the haunted house bombast of "King of Diamonds", and the appropriately glistening keys of "Yella Diamonds", beats so good they render Luger's lone actual production ("Off the Boat" totally unnecessary.
