@ T4Tough. Just tell them the truth, you have a family at Maryland, but you'll prefer to use the texas hospital. That's if they ask oh! This guys are not so heartless and unreasonable.

Just relax and be honest. I wish you all the best.

Alot of MIHS mama's. Tried sending a private message to nefertitiram, freshface and dseriousbut it kept saying ''You have sent too many anonymous mails. Please wait.''

Anyway, initially i made up my mind for elpaso, but because they won't let me try VBAC, i have to consider MIHS.

Crossland Economy Studio is not a bad place, have had someone explain that the review online is from Oyibo's, it's not bad at all. Many naija ladies have stayed there and i haven't heard any complain yet.

The great thing for now is the fact that their is a bus route in Phoenix (correct me if i am wrong), you can use just $4 per day to get to anywhere u want to go.

Will be leaving naija second week of September. Planning to use BA (Hope there is no wahala with that?), as against Arik. Heard their wahala is too much irrespective of what is on their website.

Congrats to you Oawele. The truth is there is absolutely no reason to run away from Houston POE. Just be honest and you'll be let in. No matter the paparazi and gragra, if you have your cash and do not lie, you are entering sharp sharp.

Babe16: Hi all I have been a silent follower and I have finally taken in to d Glory of God. I want advice on how to go about d fact dat my dad is sponsoring d birthing process. Pls friends I would like to know if it's risky for my dad to sponsor me or there r other options. Thanks and awaiting ur reply.
My dear, who is sponsoring doesn't really matter, all they want to see is CASH. Just show proof that your dad can pay and that's all.

stepedie: Intown suit is closer to the hospital but you still have to get a cab to take you to the shopping mall anytime you need to shop from either locations although His Grace lodge offers one day grocery shopping to Walmart per week.
Am not sure Intown suite offers airport pick up but His Grace Lodge does.
Intown suite is $170 per week while His Grace Lodge is from $250 upwards.
Thanks a million. With this i can now make a choice. I am grateful.

Please i need clarification from Elpaso Mama's.

Intown suites and His grace lodge, which is closer to Del sol Hospital and has easy access (maybe walk able) to shopping malls?

Does Intown suite have free airport pickup as well?

Is this correct, Intown suites= $170 per week and His Grace Lodge = $275 per week.

Thanks

Yes oh! The arik thing, they have reviewed their policy, it's now 34 weeks. I saw it on their website and i called the office to confirm. You can travel from 30-34 weeks with your fit to fly (doctor's report). You can check it our your self: http://www.arikair.com/health-matters

Since it's on their website, you have a strong reason against them if they bounce you. For now, arik is the most affordable and they have a good POE, New york.

P0rtHarc0urtB0y: Hi, pls when r u leaving PH and what airline r u flying - lufthansa or airfrance? My wife's itineray and yours look almost d same.
Have a little change of plans. Will be going with Arik to New york. (Lufthansa and air france are on the high side). Then from New york to Elpaso.
Hope to leave on the 16th of September.

lizcom25: @dinawe, been trying to buy ticket to Dallas then to Elpaso but difficult except with BA and VA
What do you mean by difficult? Try using www.wakanow.com, it gives you all the options and different flight rate.
I will be travelling from PH to Philadelphia thru FRA, will spend a couple of days in phil before moving to el paso.

@ jaysmom: I had a similar case. Guess you called their office right? I wasn't able to buy my baby ticket online or via phone, i was told i could only get it the day i was travelling.

Believe me, it got better on that day, I wen't to the airport with $1,000 dollars but paid less than $150 at the end of the day (for a return ticket because she is a US citizen, you can't take her out of her country without a return ) and i also got a free feeding voucher worth $50 for myself. The return ticket was valid for a year so another trip made within that year was completely free for my daughter.

I was overwhelmed. Hope the same happens in your case but you can go to their office to verify, those chaps that answer their calls don't really know much.

Hope this helps.

lizcom25: @dinawe. Just wondering what you told them at the visa office since you are still trying to decide where you will be going. Just curious to know
i got my visa long before i got pregnant. I just renewed via drop box, didn't have to go back to the embassy. This is my second baby in the US. It was an amazing experience at the POE for my last baby.

Officer: Welcome, why are you in the US
ME: To have my baby
Officer: (Looking so shocked at my quick sincerity) He asked, do you know the sex of the baby
ME: Scan said a girl, but i only wish it's a boy cos i have a daughter already
Officer: No no no no! Girls are amazing. I have two myself and that's one of the best things that has happened to me.
ME: Really, how sweet.
Officer: Yeah! (Then he stamped my visa and did all other processing, before asking me how i will pay)
So, how do you plan to pay for your bills.
ME: From my account, and if what i have there is not enough, my husband will transfer more funds to me
Officer: Your husband, why isn't he with you.
ME: Work, work, work. I have to cope all by myself
Officer Congratulations and have a safe delivery
ME: Thank you!

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by dinawe: 5:26pm On Jul 12, 2014
@timtim12,
note to the mums planning CS- bring your 1st scan showing your EDD. MIHS wont do optional CS or induce you till 39 or 40 weeks. so if they r not sure if ur edd, u go tey reach like 41 weeks unless u go into labour earlier.

this part of your gist is scary oh, i wanted my CS at about 37 or 38 weeks. So is that not possible @ MIHS? And if i arrive at 36 weeks, will i still be accepted.

Thanks on the passport clarification, it helped perfectly.

This thread has been a blessing to me. Thanks to everyone that have contributed positively. I have few questions though.

I had my last baby at Dallas and i intend coming back for my third baby and i am trying to make a decision if to choose El paso or MIHS. I have done my research and visited their sites as well, but for those that have been there and back, especially MIHS.

How did you process your baby's passport seeing that Arizona does not have a US passport agency? Dallas had so i got my baby's passport in two days, was that possible in Arizona?

Any contact details of some one that helped you with your baby's Nigerian visa?

If you traveled unaccompanied and you had a C Section, how did you cope after delivery alone? Shopping? Passport and Visa Processing? etc

Please i need feedback from both Elpaso and MIHS people. (Abeg, i hope this will not bring about a fight oh, kinda scared now, but i need to make a decision, will be due in October).

God bless you all.
