Food / The Nigerian Asun (roasted Goat Meat): How To Make Asun by Diningsatisfier: 1:29pm On Mar 20, 2017
His Excellency immediate former governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Mimiko in his send forth thanksgiving speech said he can’t wait to go back to his town Ondo and enjoy asun. One will assume that while he was busy serving his state for 8 years he must have really missed his normal life of having asun with a cold bottle of drink socializing at his favorite spot. I wonder how Nigerians in diaspora with so much love for asun are coping.

Asun is a roasted goat meat that is richly peppered, I mean well peppered. It is indigenous to the ondo and Ile Oluji people but now consumed in almost all parts of the south west in Nigeria.

Asun is a Nigerian delicacy that party guests look forward to having. It perfectly complements all kinds of cold drinks but the ‘beer gangs’ crave for it more. Nigerian Caterers has taken asun to the next level, gone way beyond just roasted and peppered goat meat. You now see whole ram, pig and cow asun, roasted on the spot and served straight from the grill stand. At the sight of the whole cow asun stand at a party then you know it’s going to be a tight ‘owambe’. Continue reading here
