Self-proclaimed living god Jehovah Wanyonyi is dead, a local leader has
confirmed, amid his followers’ prayers for his ‘resurrection’.
Wanyonyi, 98, died from malaria on July 18 on his way to Cherangany
Nursing Home in Kitale town, Kipsomba chief Daniel Busienei told the
Standard.
Busienei said the spiritual leader’s children sought a burial permit on July
19, adding that the hospital required it before releasing the body.
“I told my a$$istant chief to issue them with a permit to allow the
deceased family to lay him to rest,” he said.
a$$istant chief Paul Bett confirmed that he gave the family the burial
permit a day after Wanyonyi’s death.
On Sunday, Wanyonyi’s followers, the Lost Israelites of Kenya, prayed for
his return at his home in Nangili, Kakamega county.
Some of them said they have been fasting since they learnt that he had
gone missing.
“We believe in him and we want him back on the throne as soon as
possible,” follower Joyce Nakhanu said.
Wanyonyi has not been seen in public for more than six weeks and his
family is also anxiously waiting for him.
Family spokesman Eliab Masinde said he has been hospitalised in Nairobi,
where his sons are taking care of him.
Wanyonyi, who also has a following in Uganda, developed back problems
four years ago.
He had been confined to a wheelchair at the home, where his followers say
he has 70 wives, 500 children and more than 1,000 grandchildren.
Isnt life strange? How gullible can people get?
God or Allah have never fallen sick. They are supreme beings. They are
mighty. They are powerful. Jehovah Wanyonyi? A mere Kenyan who used
his jams to blindfold a few Kenyans to kneel and worship him.
A man who cannot perform a miracle. A man who was never satisfied with
the number of women in his life. A man wants to enrich himself by
siphoning everything from his myopic followers.
He even says that he brought HIV/AIDS to earth as a punishment to
humanity for defying his commandments.
In his words
“If the Kenyan Government does not give me 3 billion shillings ($3.8m) I
will bring a curse on Kenyans,” he warned few months before he gave in to
malaria

Whether lawyer or not, this story makes an interesting read,
On March 23, 1994 the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald Opus and
concluded that he died from a shotgun wound to the head.
Mr. Opus had jumped from the top of a ten-story building intending to commit
suicide. He left a note to the effect indicating his despondency.
As he fell past the ninth floor his life was interrupted by a shotgun blast passing
through a window, which killed him instantly.
Neither the shooter nor the deceased was aware that a safety net had been
installed just below the eighth floor level to protect some building workers and
that Ronald Opus would not have been able to complete his suicide the way he
had planned.
"Ordinarily," Dr Mills continued, "A person, who sets out to commit suicide and
ultimately succeeds, even though the mechanism might not be what he
intended, is still defined as committing suicide."
That Mr. Opus was shot on the way to certain death, but probably would not
have been successful because of the safety net, caused the medical examiner
to feel that he had a homicide on his hands.
In the room on the ninth floor, where the shotgun blast emanated, was occupied
by an elderly man and his wife. They were arguing vigorously and he was
threatening her with a shotgun.
The man was so upset that when he pulled the trigger he completely missed his
wife and the pellets went through the window striking Mr. Opus.
When one intends to kill subject "A" but kills subject "B" in the attempt, one is
guilty of the murder of subject "B".
When confronted with the murder charge the old man and his wife were both
adamant and both said that they thought the shotgun was unloaded.
The old man said it was a long-standing habit to threaten his wife with the
unloaded shotgun. He had no intention to murder her. Therefore the killing of
Mr. Opus appeared to be an accident; that is, if the gun had been accidentally
loaded.
The continuing investigation turned up a witness who saw the old couple's son
loading the shotgun about six weeks prior to the fatal accident.
It transpired that the old lady had cut off her son's financial support and the
son, knowing the propensity of his father to use the shotgun threateningly,
loaded the gun with the expectation that his father would shoot his mother.
Since the loader of the gun was aware of this, he was guilty of the murder even
though he didn't actually pull the trigger.
The case now becomes one of murder on the part of the son for the death of
Ronald Opus.
Now comes the exquisite twist.
Further investigation revealed that the son was, in fact, Ronald Opus.
He had become increasingly despondent over the failure of his attempt to
engineer his mother's murder. This led him to jump off the ten-story building on
March 23rd, only to be killed by a shotgun blast passing through the ninth
story window.

It is my hope that Tosin and Adam continue to work hard at the Nigerian Law
School, and make our great state proud as they move forward.

7. Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello , the daughter of Nigerian ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, was embroiled in a money laundering scandal worth N300 million. In 2008, EFCC charged her to court, but she urged the court to dismiss the charges on the grounds that that the money allegedly given to her by the ministry of health had been spent for a bribe given to the Senate Committee on Health members.

Zainab Dakingari, the daughter of former president Umaru Yar’ Adua and wife of former Kebbi state ex-Governor, Saidu Dakingari, was accused by EFCC of a fraud worth N 2 billion perpetrated during her husband’s tenure as governor of the state. EFCC wants her to explain the source of the steady stream of huge cash into her companies, while she held sway as ‘first lady’ of Kebbi state.

5. Toyin Saraki, wife of the Senate President and former governor of Kwara state, Bukola Saraki, was invited this summer by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to explain the strange inflow of funds into companies where she had interests when her husband was the governor of Kwara state. Reacting to the EFCC invitation, Toyin Saraki, said she will honour the invitation. However, her appearance at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Abuja with an unruly crowd of supporters caused commotion. The crowd forced their way into the offices of the EFCC’s Director of Operations, accusing the agency of bias. However, a senior agent at the EFCC said the agency had generated solid evidence of graft against the Senate president’s wife and so they were not bothered by her entourage.

4. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was accused of stealing $1 billion while serving as finance minister in Jonathan’s administration. President Muhammadu Buhari demanded three weeks ago to explain where $1.005 billion loan obtained from China in 2012 under President Goodluck Jonathan, disappeared. However, Okonjo-Iweala denied the accusations of misspending the money, as well as the allegations that her family was planning to open a multi-million dollar hospital in Abuja.

Marilyn Ogar, a former Department of State Security spokesman was also accused of collecting bribes shortly before the governorship elections in Osun state from the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC) to supply lorry-loads of dual purpose kerosene. Besides that she made a very strange politically charged statement, telling that the APC party offered two top SSS officials a combined bribe of N14m to influence the Osun State Guber election.

Stella Oduah, the former Nigerian Minister of Aviation in the administration of Goodluck Jonathan, was involved in the corruption scandal of buying two bulletproof BMW cars at an allegedly inflated rate of N255m. However, Justice Mohammed Yunusa restrained the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from arresting the former minister of aviation on September 3. The decision of a Federal High Court in Lagos also stopped the attorney general of the federation, the inspector general of police and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission from inviting Oduah for questioning. Besides that her Masters’ degree has been challenged by St Paul’s College, the United States school which supposedly awarded it.

Alison-Madueke is one of the most controversial members of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. She was accused of spending N10 billion of state funds to charter, operate and maintain a jet for her personal use. Besides that Alison-Madueke has been accused by the former CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi of embezzling cosmic sum of $ 20 billion. He insists that the former petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke is responsible for disappearance of $20 billion in oil revenues from the national treasury. The Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam accused Alison-Madueke of stealing at least $ 25 million from Indian businessmen in a shady oil deal. Alison-Madueke strongly denies all the accusations. Nevertheless, according to a report by Sahara Reporters, in order to receive immunity from prosecution Diezani Alison-Madueke has allegedly offered Muhammadu Buhari at least $250 million dollars. President Buhari, however, didn’t take the offer.

An offshore oil worker working with one of the oil companies in Delta state died unexpectedly after lodging with two women at Beji's court in Ugborikoko area of Warri in Delta state on September 5th. According to police report, the man arrived the hotel in company of two women but was later found unresponsive in his room by one of the hotel cleaners. The two ladies were no where in sight.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. His body was deposited at the Warri Central Hospital. Efforts are ongoing to trace the ladies while the state CIID Asaba is investigating the matter.

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC Ibe Kachiukwu today announced that the Port Harcourt refinery has resumed operations and produces 5 million liters of petrol per day. While addressing journalists in Port Harcourt Kachikwu said this recent development will help to stop the era of fuel shortage in the country. He says the plan is to ensure that all the refineries function optimally. He also revealed that there are plans to engage the services of the Nigerian Air force using drones for surveillance of the petroleum pipelines across the country. Kachikukwu also revealed that the Warri refinery will begin full operation before this week ends.
