Manuel Fernandes has left Benfica for Valencia despite assuring Everton boss David Moyes on Thursday that he would move to Goodison Park in "24 hours". Fernandes, who was on loan at Everton last season, arrived in England on Thursday to sort out his transfer. He was a guest of Everton for their home game with Blackburn on Saturday after passing a medical at the club. But the midfielder on Monday signed a six-year deal at Spanish side Valencia for a total fee of £12m. Moyes now has until the transfer deadline closes on Friday to find another midfielder. Fernandes's move to Everton had been complicated because he is part-owned by a third party, the Global Sports Agency. He had already successfully completed a medical at Goodison Park, and the contracts - which included issues of third-party ownership - were being studied by Premier League officials. Under Premier League rules, England's top clubs are not allowed to field a player owned by a third party who would have the "ability materially to influence its policies or the performance of its teams". Everton, it is believed, were initially only buying 50% of the player from Benfica for £6m, with third-party companies owning the rest, though as part of the deal the Premier League club would retain an option to buy out the rest of the player after a fixed period. That initially caused problems for the Premier League, which is clamping down on all third-party transfers in the wake of the Carlos Tevez affair, and Everton then moved to buy out the other 50% from the owners. But third-party contracts are not an issue in Spain and Valencia are thought to have paid £6m to Benfica and the same amount to Global Sports Agency. BBC Sport

Everton's bid to sign Middlesbrough's Nigerian striker Yakubu for £11.25m has encountered a hitch after the 24-year-old was refused a work permit. He opted out of playing for Nigeria in 2006, so fails to meet the Home Office requirement of playing in 75% of his country's games in the last two years. Everton have appealed against the home office decision and will hear the result on Wednesday. The Toffees agreed the fee with Boro to sign Yakubu earlier in the week. Yakubu is second only to Thierry Henry in the Premier League goals over the last four years. Portsmouth were also said to be interested in re-signing Yakubu, who they bought from Maccabi Haifa in 2003, before two years later selling him to Boro, where he clocked up 29 goals in 65 Premier League games. Yakubu featured in Boro's opening two Premier League games of the season but the missed the next two games against Fulham and Newcastle. BBC Sport

thats because horacio isn't good looking innit , he's macho stuff doesn't joke around. Then I guess you didn't like NYPD blue either. What of Gilmore girls do you follow that, I think its over too. So is crossing jordan, watched season 1 and 2 of that. I watched the first 12 episodes of shield, I liked it then but stopped watching because the other episodes were no where to be found, i rented tapes back in those days. It will be hard watching it now, since its in the sixth season or something. hey I forgot to mention Everybody hates chris, funny stuff. I don't watch how met your mum, since you've mentioned it I might give it a try. |

whats it about chics and Mark Hammon . Yeah supernatural was among, I like the show. I watched a bit of season 2 especially towards the end. I find it very hard to follow all these shows sometimes I lose track and mix them up. Thats why I've just decided to concentrate on some, Heroes, lost, 24, prison break, NCIS ( i don't know why, I just like it ), Jericho, Two and a half men (very funny). I tried watching the Unit but didn't seem to be interested in army officers and their wives. There are also some I followed b4 like monk, the OC, i think it has finished now, then one tree hill. I was so hooked to Angel those days, too bad they had to wrap it all up. Watched season 1 and 2 of Alias but due to some reasons didn't watch the last 3. Just started watching season 3 a few weeks back though at a slow pace, still in episode 10. The CSIs I watch but get tired of them at times especially NY. Its the stuff though. |
mukina2:I no send, so far we get the results. I don't think Gilberto is feeling too bad about it. That Schmeichel guy is looking everybit like his father. I thought the save Almunai made was good, he had a good game no blunders. |
I was surprised too, but I guess now its Gallas, Toure then Gilberto. I was so pissed when van persie missed the penalty. We seem nowadays to play stronger as the end of the game draws nearer. |
lets be realistic here there is no way Manu will be 12th after ten games, though it will be wonderful to see that happening . |
mukina you get time watch chelsea, I was glued on our match. I was able to see ashley's last minute clearance. |
