RomanceAll For A Phone Number by Dioxidane(op):
I was at the bus stop with my cousin. It's been awhile since we saw, so we were catching up on old times. We were supposed to go to his place in my car but could not because my car broke down the previous day, hence we found ourselves at the bus-stop waiting for a cab.

The traffic was congested, there was slow movement of vehicles but we didn't seem to mind because we were so engrossed in our conversation.

Standing beside us was a very pretty lady on a phone call. She was saying, '... no, I thought you guys were still at Flamingo hotel... Yeah, there are cops everywhere and it's like they are searching bags... No I deactivated the other one, call me on this line, 0-7-0-3-0-x-x-8-6-5-4... Did you get it?... Ok, just give me about 10minutes... Yeah, same here.'

Before I knew what was happening, my cousin was saying to the lady, 'Babe, I didn't get the last two digits of your number. Is it 45 or 54?' The lady just looked at him from head to toe, hissed and walked away.

I turned to my cousin and was like 'Dude, seriouslyhuh What was that for? Even if you wanted to get her digits, was that how you were supposed to go about it? You know what, let me show you how the big boys do it.' And so I went off after the lady.

Meanwhile she had walked a few feet from us. As I was almost getting to where she was, I stumbled in a pothole on the road and almost fell. I was like, 'oh, c'mon, what kind of embarrassment is thishuh' I decided this was not going to deter me.

As I struggled to steady myself from falling, I bumped into a young girl selling groundnuts and her tray fell on the ground. While passersby were screaming and trying to hold me down, I quickly pulled out 2 N1000 notes from my wallet and gave it to the girl. Her eyes widened, and as she started thanking me profusely, I continued on my way.

I had the pretty lady in sights now, I was almost close to her, but before I could say 'Dioxidane', she went through an intersection.

As I was trying to maneuver my way around the intersection, I mistakenly hit my leg hard on a pavement. And that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

The pain was so acute that I screamed, 'Fuvk!!!'. And that was when I decided to stop chasing the pretty lady.

While limping back to meet my cousin, I started analyzing all the mishaps that led to the excruciating pain I felt on my leg. I turned my head towards the direction the pretty lady was walking and couldn't find her in my sights anymore. I concluded she was a bad omen and continued limping to meet my cousin.

As my cousin saw me limping, he started laughing at me and he was like, 'How far, how did it go? Did you get the number eventually?'. I couldn't utter any words. I just shook my head in disgust.

At that very moment, we heard what sounded like an explosion from the direction I just came from. Within a few minutes, the whole area was crowded with cops and some military personnel.

We tried finding our way towards the area of the blast but it was cordoned off by the cops. I overhead someone say that only the suicide bomber was killed, 3 persons suffered severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital, while 8 other persons suffered minor injuries and were being treated somewhere around.

I heard one of the bomb squad officer say to his superior that the bomb was 'mis-rigged' and when it detonated, only people within 10 feet of her were affected. '10 feet of her?', I thought. That means the suicide bomber was a femalehuh

As we tried to wade through the crowd, I saw an eyewitness being interviewed by a news reporter. He was saying, '... yes she was a very pretty lady carrying a brown bag. No one would have expected her to be a suicide bomber...'. I froze on the spot. 'OMG!!! That was the same girl I was lusting after.'

My leg was in pain, but I was so grateful to God for not making me continue with the pursuit of the lady. I would have died that day, all for the phone number of a pretty lady.

I definitely learnt my lessons!

RomanceAppreciate What You Have - Before You Lose It by Dioxidane(op): 5:37pm On Mar 24, 2015
“You don't appreciate what you have till you lose it” is a cliché most people in relationships do not initially believe, till they indeed lose that precious relationship. Most times, because of what the guy or girl may be getting from the relationship without 'stress', he/she may begin to take advantage and under-value the other partner. The truth is: No lady is cheap and dudes are not fools. The lady you've been chasing for over 12 months may have been in bed with a guy just three days after they met. The lady you've had in your bed in less than a week, may have still been chased by another guy for over 18 months. If she sees a quality in you and falls for you, never stand anywhere and say she is CHEAP. And to the ladies: The guy who just bought you an iPhone may have never bought even a bracelet for his ex. If you are lucky he's so much in love with you, don't think he's a fool. Don't take him for GRANTED. Guys should stop treating girls like they were cheap and ladies should stop treating guys like 'Magas' or fools. We should learn to start (if we've not already been doing so) appreciating our partners before we lose them.
