An Indian bride has walked out of her wedding
after her bridegroom-to-be failed to solve a
simple maths problem, according to police in
Uttar Pradesh.


The bride asked the groom to add 15 and six.
When he replied 17, she called off the marriage.
Reports say the groom's family tried to convince
the bride to return, but she refused saying the
man was illiterate.

Local police said they mediated between the
families, and both sides returned all the gifts
given before the wedding.
Most marriages in India are arranged by the
families, and it is common for a bride and groom
to get married without spending time in each
other's company.

A police official of Rasoolabad village where the
incident happened told BBC Hindi that local
resident Mohar Singh had fixed his daughter
Lovely's wedding to a man called Ram Baran.
"But just before the marriage ceremony Lovely
came to know that Ram Baran is illiterate and
she refused to marry," he said.
Mohar Singh told the Associated Press news
agency that the "groom's family had kept us in
the dark about his poor education".
"Even a first grader can answer this [the maths
test]," he said.


Last month, another bride in Uttar Pradesh
married a guest at her wedding after her groom-
to-be had a seizure and collapsed.
Reports said the groom was epileptic and he had
kept the information from the bride and her
family.

Hmmmm, I've been part of the team that managed lassa in Ibadan,from my own point of view and observations, Lassa fever had been under diagnosed prior to incident of Ebola..
It was the ebola that increased our level of suspicion for viral hemorrhagic fever which lassa belong to.
Most people we diagnosed with sepsis with DIC might actually had lassa.

Lassa fever or Lassa hemorrhagic fever (LHF) is an acute viral hemorrhagic fever caused by the Lassa virus.
Its Similar to Ebola....It is usually acquired from
infected rats.

By the way, I get where you got it wrong, I only applied the term cells loosely here. I did not mean it in the strictest of terms.

Surprisingly I agree! But only because of the bad career politics the medical laboratory scientists are playing. Whoever is interested in having a career as a medical microbiologist should enrol for medical laboratory science.

U are qettinq me all wrong bro, when u say cell in microbiology, u'll qet it wronq......its orqanism....althouqh, orqanism are cells also, bt cells is nt d termnology in my microbiology, then, when u'll comes to biochemistry, u study structures, suqars, u kno, organic chemistry stuffs.....

FYI both courses study the cell (living organisms) from different perspectives.

Guy, we dont study cells in microbiology.....we deal wit d micro organisms such as bacteria, virus and fungus

seriously, sum1 also told me the same tin abt bch, daht microbiology is better n easier [as in nt easy lyk daht oo] bt i also wanna do bch in uni den study microbiology in masters dnt knw if it makes sense lyk daht bt pls wahts ur opinion

Bro, lemme tell u, if u are so much in love wit microbiology, go and do Medical laboratory science..... U'll take Microbiology as ur major......there u'll enjoy d course because it contains Bacteriology, virology, parasitoloy serology and mycology......

Switch to microbiology, it'll be easier to graduate with a good grade (for instance, a 1st class) in microbiology (if na bch no expect am o!). The two courses are 60%-70% similar in content but you'll be better off in mcb
