THE DOUBLE STANDARD OF IJAW POLITICIANS
Isoko make up one of the major population of sagbama LGA of bayelsa state with a full fledged government recognized Kingdom know as okugbe isoko Kingdom, in bayelsa state with other autonomous isoko Communities. My question is what political seat have ijaws ever relinquish to Isoko of bayelsa state to warrant them asking of our support? Instead the ijaw man will tell you that bayelsa is an ijaw state thereby relegating the indigenous isoko people of bayelsa state to a state of non existence. Few years ago, the ijaw national Congress visited an ISOKO community In bayelsa state called kanaan-irri, the reason for this visit was for kanaan-irri to alter their history and start claiming ijaw as the only conditions for the community to develop and few members of the community bought this devilish and wicked idea from ijaw national Congress. Thank goodness the Isoko Development Union ably led by Idu Amaidhe rose up to the occasion and the kanaan-irri people made it clear that they have no pact with the ijaws, that they are isoko people and that they shall remain, development or no development. As we type, the community has been relegated to the background even with her rich oil production quantum. Instead of developing the Isoko Communities in Bayelsa state, the oil companies in connive with ijaw national Congress rather tag innocent protesting isoko youths as militants.
The only thing isoko of bayelsa state as a recognized ethnic group in bayelsa state is ISOKO REQUEST TIME ON GLORY FM BAYELSA STATE RADIO,where isoko is aired for about an hour, no government presence in our communities. In delta State James manager an ijaw man has held on to the senatorial seat for the past 20 years and has refused to let the Isoko man to occupy same even though an isoko person Stella omu handed over to him. How many people even know that there are indigenous isoko Communities in patani LGA whose voice has been silence by ijaws. All of this show that the ijaw politicians are greedy with power and will never shared power if they have the upper hand. If the ijaws have conscience they will team up and support an isoko man and not them contesting as even as deputy governor.

First and foremost.
Sagbama LGA have 38 communities and Isoko have 4 small camp like communities at the border with the Isoko of Delta.
Patani does not have any Isoko.
Oduophori and Odorubu even Ofoni of Bayelsa are all of the Tarakiri clan in Ijaw land.

They are IJaw people.
This is why they are under all Ijaw sociocultural organizations.

And thirdly INC never asked any such as kings.

Fourthly those camp like community at the Isoko of Delta border that cut into Bayelsa have no crude oil.

Bayelsa state have 550 villages and settlements in it and Isoko have 4 that cut into Bayelsa from the Isoko of Delta border.
The rest 546 are all Ijaws under all Ijaw sociocultural organizations.
