Storm water management system is the major key to prevent flood to a great extent. Using this three fold solution to flood problem.

1. De-silt the current drainage channels, expand flood channel system to accommodate the current & projected populations and Install our Trash Trap Systems.

2. Map out a proper drainage plan for the city, draining water from the high grounds toward the low areas. Builders dig gutters to lead water away from their properties but these efforts are largely un-coordinated and unmapped resulting in pools of rain water around our cities.

3. Design and build a storm water management system following this mapped out plan. Using permeable paving, retention basin, dry pond, rain water harvesting systems, eco roof and landscaping among others.

This would require our collective efforts and if we are willing to do the work, we can make our environment a better and safer place.
