Car TalkRe: Help! Help!! My Eod Is Delays In Changing Gear by Dizzy9112(op): 7:51am On Feb 17, 2025

First, I hope you are using the original Honda DW-1 gear oil and not Abro or Visco 2000?

Before ruling out your gear box, first tell your mechanic to check the "gear selector switch". It located beside the gear box. If you always drive through flood this might be the culprit.

Also, does your "grin" light constantly blink on the dashboard?

See attached picture of the selector switch
Yes I use the Honda ATF..
The D light starts blinking after the hard shift of the gear.
I will try the selector Switch with my mechanic.

Thank you for your concern. Really appreciate

Hi Guys, please help me out. I use a 2004 Honda Accord (EOD). It’s automatic transmission. I noticed recently that the car delays in selecting gear or rather in changing from one gear to another and when it’s eventually changing gear, it jerks forward forcefully. For instance after starting the car and accelerating to a point where ordinarily it should change gear, the car will only be making huge noise and if it eventually selects the next gear, it comes with a forceful jerk and accelerating it wont move the car or else I use the number 2. This is very inconveniencing for me.
Because I reside in AYOBO, IPAJA LAGOS, I took this to an auto-diagnostics workshop. They checked the gear box and told me that there’s no problem with the gear box; that it is still okay. Furthermore, this is something that happens from time to time. And I’m being careful so I don’t fall into wrong hands. Please!!!!!
