Politics › Re: Enugu Signs Deal To Build Industrial Hub, Targets $30 Billion GDP Growth by Djyucee1(m): 6:00pm On Apr 24, 2025 |
IGBOPROMISE1: That south-east has to first grovel and beg for gas pipelines to service industrial estates in a region awash with gas, while we woke up one morning and heard Buhari had kickstarted a multi-billion dollar (loan funded) AKK gas pipeline to suck gas from the south to power industrial estates in the north….and while Ogun state has been enjoying the benefit of a gas pipeline, courtesy of OBJ, for decades now, i find this to be so gratingly annoying and typical of how Nigeria is cheating and holding down Ndigbo/south-east! Yet some smug
bigots still wonder why Ndigbo are not joining them to wax lyrical about ‘one Nigeria’! You find this brazen injustice and cheating replicated in virtually all aspects of national infrastructure: railway (stations, tracks and trains); aviation (int’l airports and int’l terminals); roads; refineries; etc-etc-etc! God bless you for this. I work in the gas sector and I see how Ogun state is enjoying the gas infrastructure there. Lots of companies spring forth daily . |

I wish south east governors can solicit for gas pipelines to run across south east states . This ll help boost economic development and industrialization in the region. There can’t be development in the absence of energy |

Politics › Re: National Grid Old, Dilapidated – Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu by Djyucee1(m): 6:22pm On Jan 16, 2025 |
dettolgel: Thanks for the explanation. So if I understand you correctly at the moment there are zones that can fulfill their electricity need without depending on the national grid. If that is correct then your idea made a lot of sense. Those that can supply their needs should do so whatever is left can be fed into the national grid at a price and then the national grid can then supply those zones that are yet to meet their energy needs, right? Exactly. Yesterday while at work, a power station was instructed to shutdown so that the load on the line won’t be much to avoid trip. |
Politics › Re: National Grid Old, Dilapidated – Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu by Djyucee1(m): 10:59pm On Jan 15, 2025 |
dettolgel: Decentralisation makes sense. The only thing I forsee is that it removes power from the centre. How can the FG wield absolute power in determining the fate of any region if such power is stripped from the centre?
Sorry I am not conversant with the workings of the power station. Hence the following questions: at the moment are there grids in each zones that can supply the zones? How exactly are the power infrastructures spread at the moment? The existing ones with a state that has a power plant can be isolated and there are substations to distribute power as well. For instance aedc ie Abuja has a substation likewise other states, so when a state generates, all the need to do is feed the substation for distribution. We have power infrastructure all over Nigeria but for those using gas, they are all in the south eg aba, portharcourt, delta , ogun state and Lagos state. The only one in the north is in Kogi. They remaining in the north are hydro (water)powered (dams) |

dettolgel: So which means he didn't lie but incompetent and the present government is also incompetent because they have been in power for more than a year? They are just playing politics with Nigerians. They know what to do but they are not ready to do it because they are just there to embezzle funds. Goodluck when in power already started the upgrade of the national grid but President bubu stopped the work. The first thing that must be done for steady power supply is to upgrade the national grid, secondly states in east, south and west can be independent from national grid because most gas power turbines are situated in these regions because of gas lines available. |

dettolgel: Fashola told us that it requires only 6 months to fix the power problem in Nigeria.
Are you saying that Fashola lied or that this Tinubu government is incompetent? Fashola is not an engineer. This is a sector I work with. It can’t take even 1 year. The fastest way like i said is to make states stay independent from the national grid if they can’t upgrade the national grid to accommodate the 25k megawatts our power plants can generate |
Politics › Re: National Grid Old, Dilapidated – Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu by Djyucee1(m): 7:28am On Jan 14, 2025 |
Validated: Olodo government of excuses. He is saying the truth. The national grid needs an upgrade. It can’t carry the power generated. The power stations in Nigeria can generate 25,000 MW but our national grid can only carry 5000 MW, so we need an upgrade or make states stay independent from the national grid which is far better but since it’s a means the federal government generates money, they might not welcome it |
