Excerpt: To My Gardener Wife. Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD - Proverbs 18:22 . Each time the thought of this flashes through my mind I am totally overwhelmed with inestimable joy not because: I won a scholarship neither am I filled with happiness because I have been given the opportunity to explore any country of my choice; maybe to wine and dine with world power or for vacation. . I am happy because the road to "I DO" draws near. It can only be a lasting one when the 'DREAM WOMAN' reciprocate on the altar. . BEAUTY - Her face is the colour of honey, it is oval, flawless, and when she smiles; her lips curve and wet, her chin bone, rise, and her mouth - the shape of half moon. . At the mention of a beautiful woman on any medium of communication, I often say, in contrary, well, you have not seen my 'DREAM WOMAN'. . My woman is perfect in shape, epitome of beauty and with exemplary character. I am not perfect in character but her love for me will carpet all controversies and we shall become the envy of all. . QUALITIES - She must be a GARDENER kind of wife who sees potential and recognises what her GARDEN (Husband) can become when she exposes him to the World of possibilities. She neither takes pride in the quality of her tools, the cost or probably how she creatively manoeuvre them while working on her garden. Her credence is found in her garden (husband), how she plants, wets and nurture her garden to be her DREAM MAN too. . She is sought by all but I am sorry to disappoint you that her heart belongs to a man (me). Her smile will transfixed me, she must be the source of strength, pillar that's vibrant and the power house of Creative Thinking! So togetherly, we brightens the world and make the cosmos an utopia. . PROFESSION - Most importantly, she must be brilliant and a Medical Doctor by profession. Each time I mention this profession, there is this inexplicable joy within me that knew no bounds. I am in love with this profession and my enthusiasm for it, I can't stop to express. . SPIRITUALLY - She must be Godly and spiritually, sound. With her, there won't be anything like impossibility in my deeds. Her prayers keeps me going. I can move mountains with her. She will declare each wonderful day open with: God bless you my WORLD and MEANING. . SKILL - she must be an asset kind of wife and not a liability wife. Her industrious ability to turn unit into tens, tens into hundred, hundred into thousand, thousand into million and so on. . COOKING - I hardly eat a prepared food outside. Un knowing to me that I was preparing myself to be held captive by her cooking. Her name might be found wanting on World best cook records but through her cooking she will win my heart. She must understand the fact that beyond other factors the way to win a man's heart is through sumptuous meal. . FINALLY - I have not seen you in person, but I trust God to witness that memorable day when I will tie the knot and finally shut the door of your heart against other man. . God bless you my GARDENER WIFE |
Damn You Compromise!!! In the decisions of life, what should rule? Passion, or reason? Is the smartest way always the best way? Does not our happiness depend on self expression and doing what we love? It is a known fact that through-out life compromises must be made. But when does the compromising go too far? When you sacrifice friends for family? Excitement for security? How many flaws will one overlook for the one he loves? When does compromising become settling? At what point do you realize you've sacrificed too much? Why do we find that we are the ones compromising the most? Why do we consider it the norm? We convince ourselves that no one is perfect and that we are not the exception to the rule. Then we are left with the endless emptiness, knowing ( deep down) that we want to be the exception. We want to find that person which suits us in almost every way, but we are socially obligated to settle. To demand the best in a life partner is selfish and unrealistic. I wish I knew why. Why can't we find that perfect person? Why must we compromise? We are both passion and reason. Why must we suffer this intolerable emptiness and constant pressure of self-doubt? We can't live life as we are? A fusion of heart, mind, body and soul. Damn these cross- roads! Damn these decisions!! Damn you compromise!!! |

It is no longer news that President Muhammad Buhari has been sworn in to pilot the affairs of the country - Nigeria. His name was appended in the book of history following his land slide victory against the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan (Immediate Past President) of the Peoples Democratic Party in the March 28 presidential election. Following his emergence as the President elect in the most keenly contested election, the Daura born was persistent in the long coveted post after attempting consecutively in 2003, 2007,2011 and 2015 respectively. The post Nigeria - PDP dynasty will mark the beginning of a new Nigeria - APC. The sixteen years of the PDP rule were plagued by a home grown enemy; the political ineptitude, mediocrity, gross in discipline, ethnic bigotry and corruption of the ruling class. However, it becomes crystal clear that we needed to build a new. Nigeria with everything at our disposal. Most important, Nigerians needed to identify the right leader with the right kind of character, education, background and antecedents. Someone who would understand what was at stake - where Nigeria had been, and where it needed to go. For the second time in our short history we had to face the disturbing fact that Nigeria needed to liberate. Itself a new, this time not from a foreign power but from our own corrupt, inept religious, ethnic, political and economic decadence. Nigeria sojourn in change of government was informed by disappointment, frustration and the realization that despite the fact that the country is richly blesses with natural deposition, most especially, the human resources it has failed to reflect in the live of an average Nigerian. PDP rule was characterized by corruption, economic shutdown, unemployment, security challenges amongst others. Corruption under its watch has passed the alarming stage and navigate to the fatal stage, Nigeria will shut down if the new government pretend that it has not crept into our daily activities. The world bank recently released numbers indicating that about $400 billions has been pilfered from Nigeria's treasury since independence. One needs to stop for a moment and question that incredible figure. Corruption in Nigeria has grown because it is highly condoned. "Nigerians are corrupt because the system they live under today makes corruption easy and profitable. The will cease to be corrupt when corruption is made difficult and unattractive". If Buhari just justify his antecedents, the followings needed to be given apt attention: Security If we must not shy away from the fact Nigeria is faced with security challenges right from independence till date. Conflicts ranging from political, economic, religious and ethnic crises. If Nigeria must grow in all her endeavors security issue should be tackled. This will enable protection of lives and property and variably attract foreign investors to come and invest heavily in one of the fastest growing economy in the world. Power power outage is one of fundamental problem of Nigeria. Nigerian government has failed woefully in this regard. Billions of naira has been spent in revamping power supply but no result to show for it. Policies such as privatization s adopted but situation gets aggravated. If power supply is improved upon: it will provide jobs as small scale business will be able to run without generating set, improve security and others. Corruption When you mention Nigeria in international community, corruption is the first thing that will flash through their minds. Corruption in Nigeria have become stock in trade. Billion of dollars has pilfered from national coffer dew to the act of corruption. The fight against Corruption should be encouraged by all, there should be no spared cows in this course. Anti graft agencies should be empowered to punish defaulter. Economy The state of Nigeria economy is very appalling. However, it has not get out of hand to be fixed. Technocrat should be appointed to assume any vacancy in this sector as it is the live wire of the country. Policies to be formulated should take this sector into consideration. As the new government takes the turn in repositioning the country from being ruined by over ambitious leaders, much is required from Nigerians at home and abroad. Building a country of ours is a gradual process, it is not a spontaneous change. Four years is never enough to correct historical flaws. As the new government days in office starts counting, Nigerians can't wait to see the manifestation of her campaign promises changing to reality. |
