Greatihex:
aside the fact that hazard has not been himself this season, we all should know the qualities of a player we argue about. There are qualities hazard have over neymar and vice versa. If you actually know and watch both players, you should know their qualities, keeping sentiments apart.
Whoever does not know that hazard is a better dribbler to neymar, such person does not know the meaning of dribbling. Hazard keeps the possession better. When you pass to hazard, at least there is a 95 percent assurance that he will not lose possession. He also creates more chances than neymar; this is a fact. He has done that even in his worst season.
Hazard is a better dribbler than Neymar? Of course! That's because his dribbles results to nothing. Do you know that JJ did more than Ronaldinho ever did? But which of them was more productive with his dribbles? Did I hear you say Ronaldinho? Of course it's Ronaldinho. That's the same case with Hazard and Neymar. Why do you think most EPL fans and even your so-called Chelsea fans term Hazard's dribbles as school-boy dribbles? It's obvious and I need not elucidate more on that. On that note, since we are talking about productivity, Neymar is better. No?

Neymar is a far better passer than Hazard. Hazard doesn't have the vision Neymar possess. Certain aspects of his game are limited due to the presence of Messi. Now this is a fact, nothing less. Messi is the leader of the team and Neymar is his vice. Messi possesses the freewill to play wherever he chooses, as long as he is on the field of play. Neymar's case is different because as long as Messi is on the pitch, his movements are limited. Everything he does becomes limited from dribbles, creating chances and the rest. But when Messi is not on the field of play, then you see the real beast in Neymar.

His chance creation is only limited because Messi is the leader of the team and hence has the ultimate right to create chances at will. You need to know the hierarchical model of Barça to know this. And for the records, you just made a gaffe with your assertion that even this season Hazard has created more chances than Neymar. That's very wrong! Bring up the stats please and mess yourself up. And in order to prove to you beyond every shadow of doubt that Neymar's chances creation is limited because of Messi's presence in the team, it's no news Messi missed 2 months out and that gave Neymar the edge to top the chart for most chances created in La Liga. That will prove to you that what I said about Neymar being limited whenever god-Messi is around is true.

Neymar is a better shooter than Hazard anyday of the week. Hazard will need to be reborn to be able to have Neymar's shooting prowess. And for an attacker, you need to know how and when to shoot, something Hazard needs to learn. Note that I didn't talk about scoring here but just shooting.

Neymar kills Hazard when it comes to taking set pieces. Infact, this is not even an argument. Neymar annihilate him when it comes to taking corners and freekicks. As for PKs, Neymar just started being inconsistent recently, although not like Hazard doesn't miss himself. As for direct freekicks, Hazard is sure afraid of even attempting.

Neymar shows in the biggest stages of games both in club-side football and in international footie. Infact, Neymar thrives in big games more than the average games. It's not a coincidence he had shown in games like the Confederation Cup final (against the then World Champions), the Copa Libatodorres final and even the Champions League final. Not to talk of other stages of the aforementioned tournaments. So, Neymar kills him hands-down.

Neymar draws far fouls more than Hazard. That in itself is a great quality and a great asset to your team. Agreed he dives formally, but even a blind man wouldn't say that anymore. But he has the moves and the trickery to draw fouls from opponents and at dangerous positions too. Hazard does same too, but not at Neymar's level.

Neymar is far far better in making combinational plays with his teammates. He sure knows how to make those quick one-twos that leaves his opponents gapping for air while he or his teammate evades them and thereby bring about a goalscoring opportunity.

As much as he is not very good with his head, he is still better than Hazard when it comes to aerial balls. Hazard doesn't even attempt to make aerial duels because he just can't.

So, I have been able to prove to you that Neymar is head and shoulders above Hazard even without taking goals and assists into consideration. And just imagine the prospect of bringing those in the argument, and one would just render Hazard to be Munir-like. But then, no need to bring on those. Without goals or assists Neymar kills him anyway.

But of course since you guys enjoy merry-go-round(ing), I know you will not rest. But let's see you try.

I already unfollowed them. Me making posts still is because of the mentions I get, and as soon as I respond I make sure I uncheck the 'follow thread' checkbox.

If you noticed, none of them countered my arguments over the Neymar and Hazard ish, rather they started saying it wasn't about Hazard in the first place even though they were still the ones who couldn't help but include the Neymar-Hazard comparisons as a criteria. You just begin to imagine what is wrong with those guys.

I just dey laugh them. After bringing the Neymar and Hazard comparison, and I dealt with it leaving out goals or assists, them change the story say it was all about Iniesta. Just imagine!

Also, none was able to answer my question as regards the fact that, if Lampard is not better than Zidane and/or Xavi albeit with far better stats than the pair, how come he is better than Iniesta because of the stats? So when it comes to Zidane and Xavi his stats won't count, but when it comes to Iniesta it will. Na wa ooooooo.

I just proved from the Neymar-Hazard whatever that stats doesn't matter. That is, although Neymar kills him statistically, it's other areas that worsen the case. Same cannot be said of Lampard. He kills Iniesta stats-wise, but is a learner where the Don is.

I could swear you were talking about Iniesta here rather than Hazard.

I mean someone told us his purpose on the pitch is to dribble 5 men, not to score or assist.
I could also swear the argument wasn't about Hazard vs Iniesta. Nohuh

You guys sure love this merry-go-round arguments. If his purpose on the pitch is to dribble 5 men and not to score or assist, how is Hazard an attacker any different?

Besides, before you guys shift the goalpost again in order to favour your lines of thoughts and arguments, know that the initial duel was mainly about Iniesta and Lampard. Now, of course you guys won't sleep well as usual because most of you have been screaming blue murder. Why? Because, like you lot said or have been saying, Hazard is allowed to be judged with stats and why not Iniesta too? The same people will say Lampard is not better than Zizou and Xavi albeit with a better goal and assist ratio. But when it comes to Iniesta's turn, then Lampard is better than him because he commands better stats. And like I said earlier on, no one should come preach how Zidane played in a 4-4-2 formation blah blah blah... All those ones na story for the gods.

Moreover, since you guys are always fond of bringing Neymar-Hazard feud into play, hence the previous analysis of both, keeping away goals and assists. And now, you guys rather than challenge me on my post, you are looking for ways to cut short the argument by saying it was about Iniesta. Was it about Hazard too? Why did you guys not leave the Hazard-Neymar ish aside?

Like I said, you guys sure love the merry-go-round.

You know I hardly get involved on issues like this. But, so many people have been misinformed by all these campaign of hatred and one has to remind them of some certain facts. Imagine someone saying I said Tores scored 38 goals in world cup? What a funny world with so many funny people grin grin grin
Bruv, you need not look further than the glaring fact that their club is at its lowest ebb for years now, hence the frustration and misinterpretation of facts.

Na siddon look I dey. The same people crying foul about hypocrisy are the chief hypocrites themselves. When it comes to Lampard vs Zidane or Xavi, then stats doesn't count. But it when it involves Iniesta, then stats come into play. And no one should tell me about formations blah blah blah because at the end of the day, when your stats are put up, no one will include the formation you played in alongside the stats. If they put up Messi's stats, no one would include how he played in a 4-3-3 formation.

Imagine someone saying Hazard is a better passer than Neymar. I mean, how is that person still alive? Some people should just be shot! Hazard with his schoolboy-inspired dribbles a better dribbler than Neymar. Hazard is like JJ Okocha and Neymar like the great Ronaldinho in terms of dribbling. And of course everyone knows what it means. It's not about making dribbles with no vision or end products. The aim is to make a dribble with a view to either scoring or assisting a teammate in scoring.

There is nothing Hazard does that Neymar doesn't do better. Then Neymar has tons of goals and assists to spice things up. And if someone wants us to lay those (goals+assists) aside, then that's fine. We will have to bring in trophies won. Both personal and team trophies won. If we have to include international football to it then it gets worse for Hazard. Or do we have to highlight their big-game performances? Especially in finals?

Abeg which criteria remain sef?

"I'm not obsessed with Messi, Iniesta is the danger. He's
fantastic. He makes the team work. The way he finds
passes, his movement and ability to create space is
incredible. He's so important for Barcelona."
And after the match, Waney Rooney quipped "Iniesta is the best player in the world"
And for the innocent ones who really don't know much about the don, just go to you tube and check Iniesta's performance in the latest el classico. Check his work rate, assist and goal and tell me the definition of vision and productivity. For Madrid fans to applaud a Barca player (their eternal enemy), there must be something special about him. Iniesta was the 1st player after Maradona in 1983 and Ronaldinho in 2005 to be applauded by Madrid fans after orchestrating their demolition.
Everyone has his favourites anytime any day. Down grading a player who has won it all all out of hatred is the height of hypocrisy.

I personally just get irritated when people bandy stats about without understanding what football is about.

Barca don't throw through balls about upandan. They are very patient with the ball. Often times, the ball goes through a long sequence of passes before it finds its way into the net. There's no rush to 'create chances'. The chances will come

What Iniesta and Xavi do..is control the tempo.

I'm sure many of you here will remember how Ibime was shouting how wanted Schweinsteiger back in the day...that's a man who used to average 4 league assists per season.

Will Ibime say he was vociferously advocating for an 'unproductive nigga'?

I mean come on...between 2010 and 2015 Pirlo registered 13 league assists on one occasion...the rest of the time he was averaging 4-5 assists per season

Of course, they will tell you that it was a deep position blah blah...but the fact of the matter is...most of the time players like Iniesta and co are not the ones that release the final ball.

They control the game and assist the assister.

I find it extremely idiotic that anybody will look at the highly decorated captain of the greatest club football team ever...and say he is unproductive

The only people allowed to say that are lobotomised zombies or people who don't understand football.
I'm glad sane people still support Chelsea. You are one. Kudos!

The argument on Iniesta being vision less, indecisive and unproductive has been over-flogged and kudos to the guys-nihilist, raumdeuter, ibime, airmak and co for their input either in support or against the topic.
But, for the sake of those that might have been misled and misinformed based on the stats that have been put up, I decided to add my view.
Based on statistics
CR7 scored a total of 61 goals last season compared to Suarez 25 goals. Stats would tell us CR7 was more productive, but those that really saw Suarez play would agree his 25 goals won treble for the club.
Waney Rooney is the highest goal scorer for England with 50 goals while Tores only has 38 goals for spain. While stats would have proved Rooney as more productive, those that really followed the game would agree Tores' 38 goals have a world cup and European medals to show for it. So much for productivity.
Lampard, has more goals and assists than Xavi and Zidane combined, and one would have assumed he's the greatest midfielder based on stats, but we still have some on this forum that rate Xavi, Zidane and co ahead of Lampard.
Lampard scored 29 goals for England(including penalties and free-kicks), went to Euro 2004, scored 3 goals while England were eliminated by Portugal. He won the MOTM in a match against Paraguay without scoring at 2006 world cup and got eliminated by Portugal where he missed a crucial penalty.
He was also part of the team that got eliminated by Germany in the round of 16 at th 2010 world cup where he had a record of 37 shots on goal without scoring in a world cup tournament more than any other player since 1966 what is productivity?
Iniesta only has 13 goals for Spain in which he won back to back European cup while one of the goals won the world cup for Spain in their entire rich history. For a player that scores and assists less, there must be something special about him that got him applauds from all over.
Why couldn't any of Lamps 29 goals even take England to the final in any of the tournaments he played let alone wining any?
This is part of the post of Ibime on page 1829

In 1998, Zidane won WPOTY solely for his World Cup performance. How many goals he scored for Juve is irrelevant. The World Cup made him. Ronaldo De Lima and Alex Del Piero were BY FAR the best club players that season. Ronaldo was Serie A Player of the year for reference.

In 2000, Luis Figo was BY FAR the best club player in the World. Zinedine Zidane snatched the WPOTY based solely on the Euros. It was like a monumental disgrace when Figo did not win that year. Figo made so much noise about it, they had to feel sorry for Figo and give it to him the following year. You cannot remember that. How much he produced for his club is irrelevant. On club performance alone, he could not smell top 10 in WPOTY that year. Totti was Serie A Player of the Year for reference.

The world cup made Zidane as he won the tournament for France. He's praised and idolised for that. But Iniesta should be crucified for winning same world cup for his country. Zidane became famous for what he did for country more than club but Iniesta should be ridiculed for doing same for both club and country.
It's easy for someone who only relies on stats that can be gotten on the Internet to castigate Iniesta, but those that really watch him play regularly would never subscribe to that.
Lampard in Barca jersey would never have scored that much as you had claimed. He would never be the penalty and free-kick taker, he would never be able to shoot at sight regularly because of the style of play as emphasis are more on passing than shooting. Iniesta may not be as scoring or assisting as his counterparts, but what he brings to the field of play is what distinguishes him from the rest. 98% of the world tha have rated him so high couldn't have been blind to what you guys believe and I can say that even Lampard would give up everything he has including his wife to win half of what the maestro has won in his career.
There's no crime in hating someone as long as you don't bring such person down with your hatred. How some would hail Zidane, xavi and co and would pull down Iniesta is baffling. I don't like Drogba for anything, but that would not stop me from admiring his greatness and exploits as one of the best players Africa ever produced.
El illusionista is the don, hate him or like him, he has made his mark!
