I think they were trying to conserve their energies. I agree with that line. They knew it would be Valencia in midweek and a congested Feb and March fixtures.
Exactly!

Forget el classico. We just need to stay on top with min of 4 points prior to it. We only need a draw and we are good to go .
Forget El Clasico? Never!

There is no way one can write Madrid off. Besides, I highlighted the fact that the games leading to El Clasico would be tough, and not necessarily referring to the game against Madrid.

Shame I cannot see this game. In fact i haven't been able to see any of our cup games. I wish i were able to see how we would put them to the sword. I wasn't convinced with our last game against a 9-man Athleti. undecided
I understand your worries bruv. I was a bit concerned too, but I thought within me that the players are doing all they could to salvage some rest at every opportunity.

I was able to download BeiN Sport's post match analysis of the match, and not being able to kill the game off was one of the talking points. Their reps in Camp Nuo made it clear it was the intention of the team not to burn steam since it seemed they were already winners especially with Atletico being 2 men down. Although they would have equalized, but that I think is part of the game.

The fans weren't satisfied too and that was why the BeiN reporter noted that at a point Mascherano had to cool the Camp Nuo down, that the game was in control and that there ain't any need of burning extra energies.

I would say we give them the benefits of the doubt and see how things pan out henceforth. I think that as an excuse is understandable. But subsequent games would prove if it was really a case of not wanting to burn energies or...maybe fatigue.

Every team becomes a force when it's us,Take Espanyol for example angry...Yes they might give us trouble at a point in tonight's game, but there is no way we ain't winning,Only question is,by how many goals? grin grin
In as much as I subscribe to what JP said about taking things one game at a time, and also not counting our eggs before they are hatched, I still believe we are winning tonight. In fact, I envision us winning the tie tonight, thereby making the reverse fixture a mere formality.

@ibime
I must give it to you on your description of Xavi, I admire your incisive submission on the subject. Your listed qualities and attributes are part of what made me call him my greatest CM of all time. I am aware of the fact that the word midfield is made up of AM, CM and DM, hence the word 'greatest CM' because there would definitely be varying opinions when it comes to naming the greatest midfielder. While there are many that can generate lots of debate on who is, I still don't think there's anyone that could match Xavi when it comes to CM.
The debate on Iniesta vs Xavi, it's safe to say these two are legends of the club with so many things in common albeit in a distinctive way. Both combined together with the brilliance of Busquest to define an era(in midfield) where Xavi was the dictator, commander and the conductor while Iniesta was the protagonist.
Xavi is the master of both long and short range passes, who could send a pass pass 3-4 defenders to set his target free on goal, while Iniesta is the master of tricks and magical skills, who could dribble pass 3-4 players to set his target free on goal.
Xavi creates spaces for himself to put his players in good position to operate while Iniesta drags players out of position to give his players spaces to operate.
They are both solid in holding the ball, keeping possession thick to wear down the opposition. They both show up in the biggest occasions where it matters most. Stats and assists alone can't describe their greatness as one needs to see them display their mastery on the field. They complimented each other perfectly and formed arguably the best 'duo partnership' in football. They both mean a lot to the fans.
All in all, while Iniesta would have many to contest with as AM, I doubt if there's a player that could match Xavi as a CM.
But, when it comes to picking who is greater of the two, individual preference will surely come to play as we are all idiosyncratic in nature. As for me? It's Xavi all the way, my favourite and my best.

Arsenal has fallen from grace (1st position) to grass(4th position), all because of the CURSE. They could have won 4-0 today, but thanks to the CURSE I, OTEMANUDUNO, lay on them. Same way CHELSEA could have lost to Everton that day, but that it might be fulfilled, that which was spoken of by the GREAT PROPHET OF BALL, OTEMANUDUNO, the ref. added to the injury time and lo and behold, TERRY equalised.

Ermm.... are you skipping the part were he has been the MOTM in the final of the 3 biggest football competitions in the world? If it was one, we would have considered it a fluke, but not 2 but 3! Ibime 3!
You definitely know that this would discredit any thoughts of him been a carry-along in both Spain and Barcelona! Not to mention that he has won UEFA best player! Though it wasn't existing when Lampard was at his 'Peak' , but did he do anything significant to merit the award if it was in existence then?

So Because he was scoring freely for Chelsea that means he would also replicate the same feat in barcelona? who were the strikers he was playing with? can you compare them to barcelona strikers? even the greatest of them all - Drogba hasn't scored more goals in a season than Neymar, not to mention 'em Torres! Besides what did Fabregas goals win for barcelona - 1 or 2 la liga and a trophyless season! Rakitić was scoring many goals for Sevilla, but now he scores far less frequently! He moved to the best club in the world, wasn't his stats supposed to increase bucketloads?

Would Lampard have been half as efficient as El Ilusionista in creating space, dragging out defenders and turning up on the big stage?
Hmmm. Bro just drop this matter.

Era or no era, who is the better footballer, Zidane or Lampard? I need an answer to that question please.

Note: both are AMF player.
Iniesta is head and shoulders better than Lampard.

And before you come up with your stats, answer my own question: Zizou vs Lampard, who is/was the better footballer?
