Eruditor and ddipset u guys are getting my point thank alves deserve more if the board can give xavi 3year till he turns 38 why won't they do the same to alves? Till he gets 35
Now dmcdad and co are saying its not the right time when do u want him to say it? After the treble? When the board will dump him like abidal? And guardiola?

And dmcdad how is this issue going to affect the team chemistry or whatever u call it?

He said he is commited to the team and not the board
After messi fought with enrique did it affect the team to make us trophyless? Didn't we bounce back from it be logical man
There is no way this issue will affect the team if we loose its because we loss simple
If I was alves I would do more cause I know the board will dump me after the treble or transfer ban is complete
Were you the one who actually typed the above? I feel crest-fallen. And to that effect, I won't react to your post. It is now confirmed that the amount of hate some of us have for this board has beclouded our thinking. It's a pity!

From what I've read about this Alves issue -
Alves wants a 3 years contract with high pay and The board are not willing to agree to his terms!
I kind of support the board, Alves is 32 years and has less than 2 more years of football in him, so why give him a 3 years contract with high pay?

Alves knows we are in a tight position,( transfer ban, under performing Montoya and Douglas), so he is using it to his advantage! I read that during his presser, he said if he leaves, Montoya and Douglas are there! I'm sure he was just mocking the board!

I read a comment where the person said that - Alves is using this as revenge time for what the board did to Abidal.
Can you imagine!Dang!

Was Alves agitating in the same way earlier this season when he was playing crap?
Why not just wait for this two matches to finish before he starts burning Nou Camp down with his demands?
Only a fool will say Alves has not given his best and everything for Barca, but why all the noise about "disrespect"?
When Alves says "disrespect",what does he actually mean? Is Barca obligated to renew his contract?Or is it because he saw we are under ban and can't sign anyone currently?
He can make all the noise he want, but let him not bring that bullsh*t to our last two finals!
God go cool down bless you. Same thing I have bene trying to explain. Infact, his demands are not my problem. My bone of contention with him is; why now? It beats the shiit outta me that Honerico was asking me that if not now, when then? I no even fit respond back because if na hater throw that question, I go know how to answer. But from a Culé? Someone that knows what we have at stake in less than 9 days? Ahh, na wa oooooo. Na so we go dey?

Anywayz, some have been arguing against the board and all. And like I said earlier on, alot of us here and on other forums or newsites are just in support of Alves because of the hate they have for the board. Every Cule knows what this board has done to this Club in recent years, yet, it is not enough to not call a spade by its name.

Anywayz, I still maintain that Alves brought this up at the wrong time. If Honerico says Alves was right to bring this right at this time, then it means he is in support of whatever controversy must have sprung up were the board had responded to him. Plus, if he decided that now was the right time, when we have 2 finals at stake, then how come someone is claiming that he truly loves the club? Na wa ooooo.

-Laporta was renewing Messi's contract yearly, and this current administration are e-diots for doing same.
-the clubs debt profile that was around €500m+ in 2009,but has been reduced to within €200m is a fraud, and Forbes and Deloitte and Wikipedia and Uefa are all liars!

sorry sir but what is the Ransom here?

that he wants something better for himself is a ransom? has he not paid his due for the club or because he's not wearing a no 10?
Bruv c'mon, you don past this thing na! Who is disputing his role? Did I undermine his importance in anyway? Abeg read in between the lines jare. My point is; is this the right time to bring about such controversy? Do you think the team could afford any form of "loss of concentration" now?

If you didn't get what I posted, just ask. I never went against him protesting or undermining his importance. He is as important as even Messi or you name it... But for goodness sake, why this time? He could have waited after the Champions League final as the team can't afford to lose concentration at this juncture. The same reason the board chose not to respond to his comments.

If for nothing else, for the good of the team and the club in general. After the final, the ensuing mysteries no concern me. Albeit, I would want him to be treated well for obvious reasons. But i still maintain, this wasn't the right time to come with controversial statements.

If you don't agree with this, then there is no need quoting you on this anymore.

Of course... No one can take that away from him. But, does that mean he should take the club on ransom at this point? Why now? Imagine, we have 2 finals in less than 2 weeks and all Alves could do was to set a trap at the most sensitive time of the season. Na wa oooooo. Even if na Messi sef, me for vex for am.

@dmcdad and co before u start insulting alves please watch the current interview he has a problem with the board they are not giving the respect he deserve
Guys as a barca fan u have to know how dangerous this board is they are the ones who let guardiola leave the club after forging lies if its about money or love we all know the kind of love alves has for barca is even more than what he has for messi
He even said he was planning to build a large restaurant with his best friend neymar there are so many things I could tell u about this board but ill be dropping a link in few minutes

I've lived in catalunya for 10years before coming back to naija I know how the cules over there hate this board.
Ill drop the link in few minutes

But please its not about money its just the internet and mundo deportivo who lick bartomeu ass are just making seem as if money is the problem
Bruv... I fully grasp your point. And I appreciate the fact that you have lived in the city (Catalunya) and have better experience with the team than ourselves here. Nevertheless, one striking truth about Alves' saga is that, many people fail to point accusing fingers at Alves just because they hate the board, and not because they are fine with the nonsense he spewed in the interview. You wanna tell me why he chose to do that now when we have 2 finals before us? Why has he not done it before now? Why wait until this time? You don't smell controversy and loss of concentration by the board and team as his motive behind divulging this now? Well, if you didn't see it this way, I saw it. Of all the periods this season, why wait until now to bring his controversial statements? You think someone with love and passion for this great club of ours would do this? Why do you think the players decided to move on after the Enrique-Messi fiasco? And why do you think Enrique has avoided every form of controversy since then? Did you notice how Enrique stopped subbing Neymar off since after the Sevilla game? Have you thought of why? To avoid the same controversy, both from the media and the players. Did you also notice that since the Sevilla game he subbed Suarez off in 3 consecutive games? And did you also notice that since after those substitution, the MSN triumvirate had played 90minutes in every games bar the absence of Suarez as a result of injury?

Too many questions, yet few answers. Alves is a club legend. He has given alot to the club, and every sane / true cule knows that. But then, everyone has their time. Did Alves give to Barcelona more than Ronaldinho did? Even a blind fellow would know that he didn't, or hasn't as the case may be. But did Ronaldinho not leave Barca? Why do you think Xavi decided to leave? Amongst other reasons, it was so other players could have their time and build or imprint their own legacies. Same reason Puyol hung his boots.

Now at his age, he is still fighting for a pay-rise? Haba! Make we see truth talk am na. He said the board didn't want him anymore until 3-4 months ago, since his performance improved. Abeg make I ask you, as him game drop for almost 2 seasons, make the board dey clap for am say him game drop? This is a football club and not a charity organization. They are bound to make decisions that would push the club forward, albeit we know much of such decisions had not been made by this board in the past.

Like I said earlier on, many people are failing to hate on Alves now because of the board. Not because what Alves said, or the motive behind him saying it at this juncture is alright.

As much as his influence in the Barca dressing room can never be overemphasized, laying siege and taking the club to ransom at this point in time is totally unacceptable. Why do you think the board decided not to respond until after the final? Because of the same controversy. They want to avoid it like a plague. But the salient and lingering question is... Alves, why now?

You would have done more than that. He is friends with Messi, and he help normalize the dressing room been a jovial person. Xavi's exit would make him and Iniesta play a major.role.if he stays.

He is in a good form. Barca has transfer ban so we can't buy another RB plus Montoya isn't performing well. Who wouldn't seize the opportunity and make more money?
IMO he should go and sleep jare! I just hate the fact that he is taking advantage of our transfer ban to hold us to ransom. So because we have a ban and all, they should give him whatever he asked? Formally, it was the number of years, now it's about money. They gave him a contract with the same pay package he currently earns (as opposed to the initial plan of a pay-cut). But he is requesting for a pay-rise (at his age). Greedy mofo!
