kobonaire: 100% on point .... I used to hate iPhones before, till I got one and just came to appreciate how well integrated their OS software, firmware and hardware is. They do charge a huge premium though for their product (that's just them being opportunistic anyway).True... They charge a premium for their devices. But the plus side is, their devices have good resale values. |
DaGC: Nothing to forgive bruv, you were just sharing your opinion. I just fear say your blood just dey too hot against android like wetin wan explode. I no even know say na android you sef dey use. The way you take yarn ehn, person for feel say you be staunch iPhone user o.He he he he he he. Abeg just try check on all my posts on this thread. Alot of people are favouring specs on paper over real world experience. Wetin you want make I do? I need clear their doubts say no be so oooooo. The fact say you dey use a Samsung phone with Octa core or Quad core or whatever the case may be, no be guarantee say e go translate to better speed in the real world compared to person wey dey use ordinary dual-core. Alot of factors come to play than just the specs. Like I stated in one of my posts, shibi Sammy dey always yarb Apple in their adverts, why them never do advert to yarb Apple as regards say them dey run Octa core for their devices while Apple dey run dual-core? Because they know say for rela life experience e no be like that. You don gwt my point? If we do a generational comparisons between them you will discover say Apple beat them in every generation. That is SIII for iPhone 5, S4 for iPhone 5S and so on. That is talking about browsing speed and general fluidity around the OS. And in all these generations, Sammy dey always come out with better specs. I no know if you get my point. Moreover, Apple no dey pay me neither Sammy. I just try to dey as objective as possible. But obviously I love Apple. |
standupguy: Memory slot is becoming out dated due to cloud computing. You are right... I have 50GB cloud storage on my Dropbox. Not to mention my 5GB on my iCloud account too. All my photos and some of my very important files are mostly stored in the cloud and some in my device. And it makes me not worry much about loosing anything should something happen. As for software and hardware integration, there is no competition. |
DaGC: oga @Dmcdad, abeg take am easy. No be quarrel. The way you dey yarn ehn, e just be like say you and android get serious beef. Abeg calm down, no be fight.Bros no vex abeg... No hard feelings. I dey use Android like this, infact I dey make this post from my Note II. The thing just be say, every OS and every OEMs get their own advantages and otherwise. But the way people dey take tackle Apple ehn, e dey somewhat unreasonable. But anyhow sha, if I don in any way take this personal, make una forgive me. Just airing my own view as regards the matter on ground. No offence intended. |
vitust: When do you expect me to comment? they are real unless someone is impersonating them. Can someone please send me the email or number which contacted him/her as Vina Agency let me compare with the one I used to correspond with themAgent. Well played. |
honeric01: Choooi ![]() |
BlackBaron: That Sir, is conjecture. Please there should be no debate about this. Take Sammy for example, almost everyone that I have seen using the S3, Note II, III, S4 and so on have broken screens. Are they all not being careful or what? My friend's S3 that dropped on his rug was shattered. I use a Note II and the screen has a line. So don't talk about durability. I have used lots of iPhones and I have people using iPhones till date, and I am yet to see anyone with a broken screen. Of course it's possible but that would tell you the difference in how durable both are. |
candygosh: I soon love this. It's an overpriced piece of crap. Will wait patiently and sell my 16MP Samsung S5 once I see a phone that beats it.And you think your S5 can take a better photo because of its higher MPs? Well, I won't count it against you. I will just take it that you are one of the ignorant ones (no offence) who don't know the difference between the pixel count in a phone and the pixel size. So, FYI having a phone with more MPs (megapixels ) doesn't translate to better quality images. If you doubt me ask those who make use of the Z2 or so that spots about 20MPs. If you are still rasing doubts, you should check on your Techno brothers that have devices spotting 13MPs, they will tell you that their phones take worse images than Nokias of those days (eg e72, n95 etc). |
texazzpete: Why would I take a less powerful Galaxy S5 over an iPhone 6?He's a noob. Imagine playing a game on a phone that gives console quality graphics. Did you see the game that was demoed? Mehn! You will appreciate Metal and the power of the A8. |
Femistico: this is crap mehn...for God sake dis is 2014..1 gig ram, cpu 1.4ghz dual core wen even tecno dey use quad core, 8mp for camera no memory card slot..hmmmm reserve my commentNo mem card slot? For Christ sake they offer a 128gb version. Jeez! FYI, my buddy uses one of the latest Technos with 13MP rear camera, and honestly, I'd rather use an iPhone 3GS to take shots than make use of that Techno. So, it ain't about the specs on paper bro. I guess you don't know that. All you care about is to see a spec of 20MP rear camera and at the end of the day it takes shiity photos. |
texazzpete: Have you seen any comparisons between the A8 and the Snapdragon 805? No? Then you just pulled that out of your backsideI laughed when I saw that post of his... Something that was announced yesterday and not even released yet, someone is already claiming that it blows the iPhone 6 away. You see? That's what we have been saying. It's obvious his misjudgement was as a result of the specs on paper. Wrong! |
Kessleek: Can you please explain thatTalking about smoothness between Android L and iOS 8? As much as Android L is being optimised, it would and I repeat it would never be as smooth and fluid as iOS 8. Apple has set the benchmark for OS fluidity and smoothness. The mobile OS that is close/on par to what Apple offers in terms of smoothness and fluidity is WP8.1. Won't you agree? |
honeric01: Thanks, but do we still have another one different from Cadete B?Just saw the complete list... Barca Barca B Juvenile A Juvenile B Cadete A Cadete B Infantil A Infantil B Alevín A Alevín B Alevín C Alevín D Benjamín A Benjamín B. No be small thing oooooo. |
standupguy: On point.God bless you jare. |
caukerzee: You keep talking about revolution. But you cannot explain how the revolution occurred. These devices haven't hit the shelves yet, there's been no experience and reviews from users from the people and you're talking about dirty revolution??Ohh! The people hating, why do they not wait for it to hit the shelves and for people to have a hands-on before criticising this or that. I guess your biased mind would tell you that too. FYI, I use a Sammy phone. Let's wait and see. Let's leave the hype, and haters should also leave the hating for now. |
StreamerBlogger: M not so current wen i comes to sales....but i know dat in 21st century dey don't judge products according to sales.Blackberry in Nigeria should b an example. I personally judge in terms of performance. Then what makes it 6th in terms of performance? Because your judgement seems to be from spec and not performance. |
StreamerBlogger: I don't know bout beat cos currently i would rank 6th behind Htc,sammy, sony, xiomi, oneplusone. And how many devices have they sold with HTC One M8? How about Sony Z3? Even the almighty Sammy has lost it for the past 3 quarters. What then are we talking about? Since the S5 came out, the iPhone 5s has been trumping it in sales. That is very unlikely. At least it was supposed to hold the number one position for a while pending the release of the next iPhone (6) but it didn't. Most of the features Sammy incorporates in their devices are just redundant gimmicks. I use a Sammy product, so I have the experience. |
ollah1: At the boldedDang! I give up! You guys will never stop comparing Android to iPhones rather than Android-iOS and iPhones and/or whatever OEM using Android. If you wanna argue OEMs, better! And if OSs, great! Not taking Android against the iPhone. The iPhone is a single line of product, while Android is an OS that is incorporated by different OEMs. Abeg I rest my case jare. |

You are right... But most of those social networking sites and/or apps are worldwide. Facebook is used here in Nigeria as much as any other place. I know of course Windows 8.1 is great. They lack apps and that is the problem. And what are these devices with great apps to run on them? But no matter how optimised Android L is, it can never be as smooth as iOS. Fact! And I also understand that these OEMs especially Sammy fill theirs with too much bloatwares. Infact, all Sammy's proprietary apps on my Note II aren't present except for a few like contacts, messages and some others. |
StreamerBlogger: I actually agree with u dat d size of MP doesn't matter but com'on couldn't dey not have atleast lied it was 13mp....u can't go out to boast with a fone of specs writeup equivalent to dose of 2012...Apple is a joke.NOTE; Apple don't sell specs dey sell brand.Yoi should also note that specs don't always translate to real world experience. The S4 even with its 13MP can't stand alongside the iPhone 5 when taking pictures. What then do we want? Spec on paper or the real world? I would gp with the latter any day. But I must admit, they are dragging in alot of areas and I hope they realise that. But they still manage as always to beat their competitors one way or the other. Wouldn't you agree? |
StreamerBlogger: TO BE HONEST NIGERIANS ARE REALLY IGNORANT U INCLUSIVE..... HOW CAN U STAY IN COMFORT OF UR HOUSE OR WHR EVER U R DEN TYPE DIS TRASH...HOW CAN U COMPARE ULTRAPIXELS WITH MEGAPIXEL.HTC failed in dere line of camera's SIMPLE.Agreed they failed when it comes to taking photos in broad daylight compared to the competition. But in low light, it kills your Sammy. The real argument was about the 8PM in the iPhone 6, and I tried to let people understand (I don't know if you too understand) that the numbet of pixles (pixel count) don't matter much, but the size of the pixles (like Apple used I.5micron pixels for the iPhone 6), also the aperture and some other camera enhancements. MP is mostly about the size and doesn't in any way translate to better photos. Have you taken a pictire with one of these Techno phones that comes with 13MPs? You would prefer a photo from an iPhone 3Gs. You get my point? |
texazzpete: Of course the 5S has a better design. But if it had a 4.7" screen and the specs of the 6, it wouldn't be a 5S anymore.I agree with you, the home button is just helping to slow things down on the hardware design. Getting rid if the bezels would be great, but how would that be with the home button? That's just the problem... |
ckhelvin: the ugly truth is dat samsung can't just do well wit tizen if they try leaving android platform!!..they know it themselves buh they just wana get control of both the hardware and software features like u said..I'm patiently waiting for the benchmark scores between iphone6 and note4...and u very correct about apple amounting to half of pictures bin uploaded to most of these social networks..+1 there !You are right about Sammy not trusting their OS. They wished they had begun with their Tizen like Apple did. Now transmission might be suicidal to the company if they tend to leave Android sooner rather than later. |
spotit: lol...boss, let's wait for it first. ur not even a better lover of Apple than i am. this war is fiercely serious. what I'm for is true and ultimate user satisfaction... apple is somewhat dragging. Jobs started this, apple should bring us where no one should have even the tiniest doubt to begin to compareYeah... I accept the fact that they are dragging when it comes to incorporating certain things in their devices. But come to think of it, they only go into something when they feel it would be ultimately needed. Take NFC for example, how many of the competitors have been able to do something tremendous with it? Aside normal payments which passbook could do and/or other sharing, they have not been able to do something significant with it. But Apple arrived the party late, but with a purpose. To make it completely usable and by integrating it in Apple Pay. Take another example, the Apple Watch. Sammy released their 5th or 6th alongside the Note 4. And as usual, Apple arrived late to the party, but they have revolutionised the smart watch industry with just their first offering. Something the likes of Sammy couldn't do even with their 5th or 6th offering. So, I have discovered one thing with Apple, if we can't perfect it, then it's better we don't do it. Simple! They don't rush because of the competition, they take their time to make it right. Imagine that Apple came out with Touch ID, and in Samsung's next offering (S5) they did same. Apple's Touch ID smokes theirs hands-down. Remember what they said when Apple introduced the A7 SoC with a 64bit desktop-class architecture? They all said it was a marketing gimmick. Today they are all incorporating it in ther devices. Yet, I still think they can do better than what they are doing now. |
ckhelvin: I don't blame them dou!!..dey jump to conclusions without really understanding the tech market..Exactly! Like I stated in one of my earlier posts, as much Sammy mock Apple with Apple's shortcomings, why haven't they done so about the speed or browsing test of the devices? Or for them to mock Apple for sticking to 1gb ram still? That's because they know better than these boys arguing what they nothing of. With Apple's seamless hardware and software integration, coupled with their OS optimisation, they are killing the market and the competitors know this. As successful as Sammy has been with Android, why did they create their own OS (Tizen)? That's because like Apple, they wanna have full control of both the hardwares and softwares and be able to optimise their OS to beter suit their hardwares. These boys will never know this. They complain about the 8MP in the camera module. Is it a coincidence that Apple devices amount to more than half of the pictures/videos uploaded to major apps and sites like Instagram, Facebook, and the likes? |
texazzpete: So you're quoting specs for quoting sake?Guy, one bottle of coke for you. ![]() But seriously, you nailed it! I laugh when people brag about these gimmicky features especially Sammy incorporates in their devices. Multi-window? God knows I have never used that feature since I have been using Sammy devices till date. It would be great to use it on a tablet, but on a phone or phablet device? Nah... |
ckhelvin: You guys just don't get it do you...it's not about the spec on papers please understand the technology behind such first..how can u say al because a samsung device as 16mega pixel resolution necessarily means it has a better quality than apple which has 8MP buh don't forget samsung only used 1.1micro size of it's resolution compare to apple which uses 1.5micro size And aperture of f/2.2 on it's camera which makes and shoot quality pics much more than any samsung device..so fellas don't be deceived!..talkin about 1g ram on apple devices surpasses that of 4g ram found in samsung devices.,yea I said so ..for Christ sake apple has the smoothest operating system til dat..it's not bout the ram on a devices buh actually decodes the function coz apples 1g ram is accompany with M8 coprocessor ..android with its 4g ram lags like shiit and isn't smooth compare to apple idevices..leh me rest my case here coz their r more tinz to lecture u guys on..u need to understand the tech not just gimmickry featuresGbam! These kids need to be lectured. I blame it on Sammy and the others who have made them to believe that what matters are the specs on paper rather than the real world. |
standupguy: You have to understand that apples strategy is integration. Now this is what I call being objective. Nice one jare. |
texazzpete: Specs are 2012?Exactly! And they fail to understand what it means to have a seamless hardware and software integration. That's the key, and not the specs on paper. Do they know why Microsoft actually purchased Nokia's mobile division? Because like Apple, they wanna have full control on the hardwares and softwares of their devices which would translate to better performance and usability. Not to mention that it would allow for a better OS optimisation to take advantage of the available hardwares. These people are kids and know nothing about specs. |
bejeria101: Still a 1 gig ram device? Smh for appleDo you want us to go over this again? The Galaxy S5 came in with what? 2gb ram, right? In iOS, 1gb ram is far more productive than 2gb ram in an Android device. You know what is called OS optimisation? You guys won't understand cause all you care about is the specs on paper, and not how it fares in the real world. |
texazzpete: Actually the M8 camera has poor daylight outdoors performance compared to other flagships this year. Does very well in low light, but all round worse than the others.Yes you are right... It's great with low light. For me I think 8MP is perfect to blend with good daylight performance and low light with an increased size of the pixels, a better aperture and some underneath features. |
spotit: u need to take it easy with yo lying. the M8 spots a 4Up cam. ultrapixels, that is. and you haven't even touched it, shame. These people don't know anything about cameras, that is why they think Mps translate to better images. Wrong! Like you rightly stated, M8 comes with 4ultra pixels and smokes the Galaxy S5. Apple and HTC and treading the same path, and that is the path of great cameras. People should check a lot of DSLRs and they would discover that most have minimal number of MPs, but are the best in photography. These people are just ignorant jare... |
