Good Morning every one!!
I'm intending to purchase a phone (used one actually)
My priorities are: 1) Battery (Sold battery life)
2) Camera (A decent one)
3) Performance (i do just causal gaming)
4) Software support (a phone I can use for the next 2-3 years)
With a budget of N400k, which device would you'll advise I go for that would give me the best value for my money.
Money no easy to get oo😂😂
You can do well to also recommend a trusted seller for me, considering I'm not based in Lagos.

Broskyjames: I actually prefer wired earphones still...Higher Fidelity sound, zero latency, stronger connection, you can find these qualities in some Bluetooth earbuds, but at almost triple, if not more, than the cost you'd use to get a wired headphones of similar quality.
True Audiophiles know wired earphones are the real deal. Apple started this gimmick of removing the earphone jack in the iPhone 7, primarily to market the Airpods, and other OEMS just ran with it..They also introduced the no charger in the box gimmick, talking about saving the planet and all that rubbish, why the price of the phone keeps increasing 😩. Glad not all OEM foolishly followed this silliness, because imagine buying, say a Samsung device, with no charger in the box, and knowing how fast charging is a propetiery tech, they actually expect me to have a 45 watts charger lying somewhere that conforms to there fast charging tech? 😩😩 Can you recommend a wired earphone with an excellent sound quality and durability. |

Gptech: Naa, no heating issues. He is not a gamer but on normal usage it's cool. The Mi 11 Ultra is actually equipped with a cooling system so it doesn't suffer as much from the overheating issues the plagued many devices running the SD 888. Okay..good to know 👍 |

Misterlecturer: Hello guys, is the Mi 11 Ultra still good for use in 2025? I like the phone & I'm thinking of buying it. I'll appreciate your responses. Just keep in mind that there is no longer software update, and the battery life would have deteriorated due to age of the phone. (Charge cycle) Aside that I think the SD 888, even thou old can still hold up in 2025. And another vital thing to consider is the price, if you can get it at very good price then go for it, if not look elsewhere. |

genius43: The Xiaomi 11T obviously boasts better performance than the Note 14 and has better cameras. It is already at its End of Life. Also for a phone that was released 4 years ago don't have so much expectations on the battery life especially for a used device. You re 100% right about the 11T being superior in terms of performance and camera, infact in most aspect, except like you rightly mention the battery and Updates considering it's a 2021 phone. I have never for once purchased a used phone before, so I'm even skeptical going for one, just that most of those old higher mid rangers and flagships have better specs compared with what is obtainable this days, and less expensive too. Thank you for your response. |
Family › Re: Living With Parents At 37 by dmgr(m): 9:43pm On May 29, 2025 |
Klass99: I think you have a good point but Pansophist also made some valid points, your response and reaction to him wasn't necessary.
Let's try and debate the issue sensibly and in a civil manner.
1. The difference between parents and children is that, parents made a choice to have children and that choice comes with responsibilities and obligations some of which you listed above. Children on the other hand didn't make a choice to come into this world, to have parents or to have the sort of situation OP is in thrust upon them. As children we try to make the best of it, by doing good, doing right and doing well by our parents.
2. It is a natural course of life that children will grow up one day and leave home. This is a normal and old practice, even the bible talks about a man leaving his parents to cleave to his wife. We leave the nest to build our lives and live out our dreams or purpose, most times that means physically parting from parents and leaving them behind.
3. Parents and children were never meant to be together until death do them part. That is an exclusive reserve of married couples. The OP"s parents are the ones who should be together till death does them part. I understand the sentiment you expressed about parents being old, doing things for us and wanting us around in old age, but I think what most of them truly need is companionship.
4. It can be companionship from one another as a couple, from their friends, church community, or a group of people with same interests, etc. It must not necessarily be from the physical presence of their children. This is one of the reasons why I believe companionship is more important in marriage than children. I also don't like this idea we have of birthing kids so they can look after us in old age. It creates scenarios like the one OP is in now and emotional blackmail as well.
5. I cannot relate to the desire or need, to bring non-existent people into existence, just so they can take care of us in old age. It is a lot work if you ask me, because the work you will do for those children before you reach old age, will be more than the work they'll do for you in return. And if they are children who refuse to catch sense, premium heartache and pain awaits you in old age.
6. So, yes, while parents fed us and took care of us, it was their responsibility and duty to do so, as a matter of the choice they made to bring us into this world. While we also have a duty to do right by them as godly and sensible children, we can do that without necessarily living with them.
My own mother told me once that while they do not see me often they feel my impact from miles away through the financial support I provide. Pansophist is not wrong when he says they should adopt children, in my case, we have a young girl of University age who lives with my parents.
She's in her 3rd year now, she's not a blood relative, I don't know how or where my mum found her but they've put her through primary and secondary school, now she's almost through with University.
I am more quick to send that girl pocket money for her personal use, than I am, to send to some of my own blood relatives. Blood is not thicker than water for me when it comes to that girl, the value she has provided and continues to provide exceeds the value some blood relatives have provided. Nice submission, you're indeed a woman/man of wisdom. We happen to share the same school of thoughts on the subject matter. |

I need public opinion on choosing a phone with the best value for money.
Budget is 250k-270k
I'm considering foreign used MI 11T of 2021 Or the Note 14 4g ( I know these phones are not in the same category spec wise).
But if you re to be in this shoes, which would you go for, brand new RN14 4g or Foreign used MI 11T, you can do well to state the pros and cons on why u re choosing each of the devices |

Vickygirk: Is because those single mothers don't locate the sperm donors and drop the child for him to cater..
Immediately this practice is on the rise, this shame of single mother and talk of bad character when belle enter go stop
Men go dey learn to care for their reproductive health and not sleep around with person they are sure not to marry..
I repeat, Single Mothers after giving birth to that baby, Locate the child sperm donor, drop the baby with the sperm donor and change location..
When many starts doing this, this evil menace will reduce drastically. A better advice would be for girls to close their legs, or better still insist the guy wears a condom or no sezx, or they can opt for other contraceptive methods. This particular advice is even the most important one, girls should know the type of men they open their legs for. Most of this women complaining of their baby daddies not being responsible knew that this men weren't responsible in the first place, but they still chose to spread their legs wide open and got banged raw to the extent of getting pregnant. These same set of women who made wrong choices will come out and say men are useless and inresponsible, where's they were the ones who dated and got impregnated by the so called inresponsible men. You'll should understand that women are the gate keepers of sex and at the same bears the most of the burden associated with the consequences of unprotected sex. |

I searched here on NL and someone was faced with the same problem years back (same Redmi 8.) ,phone just went off and never powered on, I guess this phones generally have lifespan too. Well I'm done with the funeral rites already, phone served me for 4years + without repairing anything, I'm now currently phone less. Unfortunately I didn't backup my data on Google drive, so I have lost all my data. I'm not sure if I did too on my xioami cloud, but do I need a xioami phone to access my backup on cloud ?? |

genius43: Has he tried another battery before ruling out the battery as the issue. Troubleshooting is strenuous. A new battery should be tested first if that doesn't work then the power IC is next. He didn't try another battery, he concluded that the phone panel is dead (the first repairer) Just this morning I took it to another repairer, thou the battery was difficult to get, but he later got one, he will try that one by tomorrow and let's see wether the phone will come up. Thanks for your response |
