cogitoErgo: @OP, no be because MTN don wire u, u just con dey type all these ur yanings? u accuse Nigerians of being gullible while u urself are the chief gullibles! if not y dd u go fo dat scam in d first instance.I can see you are a staunch illiterate as you lack basic cognitive skills. Please next time you want to comment on an article of high intellect consult an educated member of your family for proper interpretation of simple vocabulary so the whole world doesn't have to find out your frailties on a daily basis. I won't waste my time breaking it down for you because its also clear that you are myopic with your thinking. |
Nigerians have a fundamental problem and that is what I call the 'slave mentality'. In this part of the world,no matter how unfairly high the price of an item is,Nigerians will still go out en masse purchasing that very item. I watched an episode of "keeping with the kardashians" which was shot in 2011 and kim was using a 'bold2' model of blackberry. This is someone who is worth millions, yet in Nigeria you see a student on pocket money hustling, doing all different kinds of things just to buy a Torch-misplaced priority. Nigeria's market is the most attractive for luxury goods all over the world not because we have the richest economy(far from it) but because we have the highest population of gullible, weak minded, ignorant, and seriously damaged citizens-self esteem issues. We believe that its our possession that actually shows our worth, and that is why government officials have to live in Aso Rock and have an entourage of over 40 cars to announce their presence. In most countries of the world, its a persons ability to think and be creative that makes the person wealthy(so people around recognize their talent first) but over here wealth is gotten and nobody cares to find out HOW-everybody just knows "Mr.Lagbaja is rich". MTN in their years of operation in this country have exploited this small fact and made millions out of this country(more than they make in the rest of Africa combined). There's no problem with that-its business. Where I do have problem is when you Rip me off my money or you result to scam people of their wealth in a petty way, which when combined results in huge profit. The latest MTN promo(double your credit) is a scam,it is criminal and should not be taken lightly. Each time I load credit I see a message about the promo..... "Get double your recharge! Dial *885*PIN# from 00.30am to 11.59pm Mon to Sunday. Bonus airtime expires by 11.59pm Everyday". So on Friday when my BIS was due I decided to try the promo with #1000 worth of recharge card, the credit was doubled but into a separate account which MTN left out of their promo message. This meant I had #2000 worth of credit just for calls to MTN numbers and the hilarious things is the bonus of #1000 can only be used after the #1000 in your wow! main account has been exhausted all in less than 24hrs. If I knew all these important details which they 'CONVENIENTLY' left out, why on earth would I waste my money....because at the end of the day I wasn't able to use the bonus before 12am. I could not renew my BIS,could not transfer the credit, could not call any other network because my money was siphoned into an account I knew nothing about! I imagine how many Nigerians have and are still being hoodwinked into this petty plot to garner more profit by boosting recharge card sales, yet our gullibility keeps us silent. I know the value of a thousand Naira that's why I Can't keep silent. If anyone has fallen victim and wants to pursue this, you are welcome(the more the merrier). At the end of the day I will pursue this, with or without people. Many have entered eateries with a dollar and made their fortunes because of lesser offenses as to SCAM. |
He has lifted me up from my sins and ticked off my wrongs my life is unto you Never have I ever seen a love, lot like this I magnify the Lord By his blood,I am cleansed My debts he has paid, Through the father,a king I am made Oh! An eternity is too short For He who reigns,to be praised I magnify the Lord.... |

acidtalk: What in Heaven's name is This Country Nigeria turning into? You are just a bitter old man,if you had any understanding at all you will realize that tertiary education is not meant for every young ward. In advanced societies they encourage their wards to pursue other dreams outside education, with full support and encouragement. The fact a child doesn't show interest in going to University doesn't make him a dullard;emphasis at this stage should rather be placed on having a True goal and vision for your life rather than following the bandwagon and committing your better years into something you are not built for! If its music let them sing,if its football let them play,if its business teach them how, many great men never attended universities. Nigeria is reaching that era of diversity as young adults are seeing other opportunities to make it in life apart from books;parents should best take note so you don't waste the better years of your child because of university admission. Do this only if he has no other 'ultimate' interest apart from his/her books! |
Demain_man: Do you know how many white missionaries left the comfort of their own countries and in some most cases all the good life to go to worn torn countries and diseased countries all over the world to do charity work. Some even get killed by the people they are trying to help!Read my comment again and maybe with a dictionary too...I am talking about children of billionaires, spoiled with luxury and comfort and here you are talking about missionaries. Do you know what it is for your father to have created heaven and Earth and own all its riches and have angels bow and worship you! If you want to compare that scenario to earthly presence then you won't talk about missionaries. How many missionaries you know come from billionaire homes and I mean where raised with silver spoons not hustle themselves to become billionaires. The day you see paris hilton or brooklyn beckham or paddy adenuga doing such then you can carry your hands to type senseless blaspheme. NB: missionaries are trained for that kind of work, its a sacrifice on their part but they are more or less prepared for it and you can't compare their lives to that of children who have 'everything' at their disposal. To wash my toilet is easy for me because of my upbringing,we never employed any maids but I have friends who if they are given such chores its like hell for them(and dats just washing toilet not traveling to syria to use a pit latrine) and most times they never do it. So know what you are talking about before you comment! |
Why is Jesus dying a sacrifice? Lemme ask a question if you happen to be the son of Mike Adenuga or Dangote or Bill gates and your father comes to you one morning and says son I want you to go to syria for the next 3years;where the war is thickest and you will not get any allowance you will tender to the sick, diseased, poor, walk many miles on foot, drink water from a pond, eat unsweetened bread, sleep on the floor, and at the end of everything you will be incarcerated but I your father will come and bail you out after 3days and bring you back home.....how many of you on here especially @bolaino would agree to leave the luxury and riches 'willingly' and go and work for your fellow humans. That's the sacrifice because I won't even leave my small pocket money to do such a thing....I used to have doubts in my heart if certain things are true until I had an encounter, and now I have no doubts that there is really a supreme God. I don't bother to understand certain things anymore because the Bible itself says the wisdom of man is foolishness to God. |
aikuda: If it is true, I will say this is where Keshi buys my respect. Without Osaze in the national team, it wont make much of a difference, but you do not throw a baby away with the bath water. I strongly believe that Westbrom is treating Osaze badly because they feel he has no where to turn because of his problems with the eagles. If Keshi invites him and try to help him, he probably would have sown a good seed between him and Osaze. Its not about playing for Nigeria, he has been doing that for more than a decade (even when other would not come- how we forget so soon), its about caring, looking out for your own, when they need you. This is what Osaze has been saying all along (so is Emenike of recent). Having said that I think Osaze needs to learn to be quiet now. He has said all he needed to say, and I support him for speaking up, but its time to lay low and let the others do their bid. if not, so be it.I totally agree with you! We all forget so soon how loyal osaze has been over the years, always one of the 1st to turn up in camp, gives his all once he wears the national colors....even when other senior players fail to turn up for away games he is there! He many times was the light when it was very dim for our eagles-he earned my respect! His quarrel with keshi;he got to know he wasn't going to the nations cup(which he helped us to qualify) through the media. Even in advanced countries where discipline is the modus operandi national team coaches call up 'senior players' and inform them they would be left out of friendly matches not to talk of a major tournament. He deserved that,he earned that much respect as he is truly a senior player! If it were me 5 out of 10times I would react the same way and I'm usually calm. Keshi has done good and I commend him for showing maturity albeit its sad how we turn our backs on people who have fought our fight with deep patriotism! |
And this is a good deed,Nigerians have problem and all that are praising the reps are equally dumb! Same way ini edo will carry a carton of indomie, bag of rice and carton of lux and say she is celebrating her bday with the orphans and put it on television et newspapers. Right here in my school,we do more than that(2bags of rice),at least every quarter and we don't have a mega globacom deal worth million;we are just students on pocket money! One of the reps member, can comfortably foot the whole bill, and they're talking about donating;making a big deal out of it. Are you all crazy or just bunch of misguided mediocres. They eat big cakes, give you the crumbs meant for the dogs and you embrace them...pity |
cigar icon: and you beleive that crap? oh lordamercyWhy so naïve? Do you live in Nigeria at all? Do you know how many bottles a 'yahoo boy' would pop at an event? The son of a politician? The politician himself? Now what's the population of all this people? They make up only a small percentage of our total population. Ask yourself how many highbrow areas we have in lagos compared to the slums....and lagos is one of the few urban cities in Nigeria. When you start thinking of other cities in the country that can't even boast of a place like ikoyi or even magodo, then you would have a clearer picture of the 80% masses who can't afford more than 2dollars a day(the uneducated northerners, the people on minimum wage with 8 mouths to feed, the unemployed, students with poor parents, etc) We complain about our leaders not knowing what we feel or where the shoe pinches, but here you are, completely unaware of the true state of your country#patriotism |
U know the teacher got exactly wat he deserved! Why will u humiliate a full grown man like that in public view because this guy isn't a kid anymore. Most of the teachers we have in Nigeria lack any Psychological assessment skills. I went to a private secondary school and once you got to Ss3 or even start approaching your final year ,no teacher flogs or touches you again. I remember they all keep telling us that we should behave like adults that we are,so we don't find ourselves in a position where we have to be flogged, because our juniors are watching. Surprisingly it worked, because most of the 'big boys' n 'big girls' didn't want to be embarrassed in front of their gfs, school sons, school daughters, admirers, etc. There were offences committed but it was never serious enough to warrant flogging. Having someone under you that you have the mandate to discipline is power and there is tendency to abuse as we are humans, that's why in advanced countries checks were placed to encourage peace. The teacher 'abused' a young adult(who has full understanding and awareness of his emotions) and deserves to be dismissed from duty. |
Please read the article again and tell me if I made mention of any grammatical blunder! Its clear you don't understand anything about the qualities of a leader...A leader never puts himself in a compromising situation because he understands that he is a 'standard',hence people would always watch his actions;so he leads by example! There are no rooms for errors, especially what they call 'school boy errors' |
I read an article this morning asking people to take it easy and be more reserved with the use of social media regarding the 'my oga at the top' matter; because the man could commit suicide and how it is also hurting our country's image. This characterizes two of the major problems that we have as citizens of this country: hypocrisy and deception. Hypocrisy in the sense that we try to act like we really care about our neighbors but it's the exact opposite. A Nigerian is a typical example of a hypocrite, and cares only for himself/herself,there is no love or common interest here; you find that in developed counties. There is nothing that can actually damage the image of this country more than it already is right now. It is only because we deceive ourselves into believing that not everybody in the world knows how corrupt and upside down the people and the system is. On the other hand the major problem in the government of our country is not corruption(even the American government has forms of corruption but they still get results),but mismanagement! A leader who is corrupt but has a brilliant mind would still get more things done than one who is completely stupid but not corrupt.... The NSCDC commandant,Mr Obafaiye Shem typifies the leaders we have in this country(unintelligent) and hence the state we find ourselves in. I personally do not care if the man loses sleep over this matter because if he was an honorable man at all he ought to have resigned by now. In Europe and USA, government officials have resigned for lesser offenses and this is why the right people are in power; because the citizens understand the responsibilities of a leader and hold them accountable, forgetting sentiments! The unequivocal truth is,this is not about the ordeal of Mr Obafaiye and his family rather it is about the many lives that have being placed in the care of a 'moronic' commandant by a security agency. The situation in Nigeria is very much like; the prince walking while the servant rides on the horse's back....."THOSE THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON OUR FARMLAND IN DIFFERENT VILLAGES , ARE BUSY FLYING FROM ONE COUNTRY TO THE OTHER IN THE NAME OF GOVERNMENT" Lastly, the claim that this can happen to anybody is a disgusting lie, unless anyone actually believes he can be that stupid-as not having an idea of your office address and worse still not having a decent excuse! |
Is it in good condition, and where are u? Call me ASAP 08063808401 |
While am glad that the country is speedily progressing into a time where a policeman, naval officer, soldier(people who are sworn to protect) cannot just abuse citizens and go scot free. Gone are the times when a policeman slapping anyone they feel like when his palm itches or his head tingles was the order of the day. This people should be more tolerant and composed rather than display the temperament of a woman going through her first pregnancy! Special applause to the Governance of BRF that has made it more possible for citizens to exercise more of their civil rights in this regard. There is still room for improvement in Lagos and more importantly nationwide. In places like Ife,Osun state, we still have instances of Ladies been publicly humiliated(and I mean in the most dehumanizing manner) by policemen for putting on a tank top. The guys aren't left out in the action,as they also get some 'stick' for sagging their pants or dressing 'anyhow'. Changes have to be made and I think security agents should all go for a mandatory orientation course so they understand the divers qualities required for the job of law enforcement. Enough said, and now to the 2nd part of this article(from which I coined the title); the ladies. Now am very sure every guy, boy, man or male has had 'that one time' you felt like slapping the rudeness, boldness, insults, etc out of a girl,female,woman..... I have had a few,so I know; 1)That one time I ran from Ajose lecture theatre to Amphi to save a seat for a lecture, and left to get a drink and when I got back this girl had thrown my bag on the floor, didn't get up and even insulted me on top. 2)That one time I was trying 2 park well and brushed the table(notin fell) of one girl selling on the side of the street, nobody in the car escaped her curses and insult even after my immediate apology. 3)That almost everytime my younger sis used to get on my nerves with her sharp mouth especially when boys my age started toasting her*sigh* In all these instances,no slapping occurred....but really I'm as composed as they come. There is a reason why almost all the organs in a guy are bigger when compared to a girl of same age. Bigger bones, less fat, more muscles with years of experience play fighting(even the real thing);ladies take note. With special consideration to all that, its advisable to all ladies to try and respect themselves also, so as to prevent violence and abuse. Special mention to yoruba girls whose mouths are like razor, pls tame ur mouths! If you see my mum challenging hefty men in the market, putting me in awkward situations;una go fear! Don't spoil the fun, let's hear your own 'that one time moment'. |
Amala makes me happy too ![]() Then writing, thinking and one particular yung lady |
"She don't believe in shooting stars but she believe in shoes and Cars"-what immediately came to mind is the lack of foresight and inability of Nigerian girls to Project into the future. I stumbled on an article on the net and it focused on the reason why there are many 30+ ladies who are unmarried or single parents and the answer is quite simple-its largely the fault of the ladies. When it comes to relationships and marriage, ladies are privileged because providence has placed them in the driving seat from day one! A girl can decide the kind of guy she wants to date or man she wants to marry(yes/no) but lack of foresight, inability to project and an insatiable lust for material things has wrongly screwed up their sense of judgment... Naija babes are totally blinded to the immense potential of 'the guy next door' by the all so glittering and alluring charm of the 'man about town'. A word of advise; take a cue from the likes of Michelle Obama and our very own Dame patience Jonathan, who are typical examples of young girls who saw shooting stars and nabbed them! Shoes and cars last but for a while, set your sights on something that outlives time...shoot for the stars. Forget nollywood movies, not all men leave their wives who suffered with them and marry 2nd wives and even if they did,why should yours be part of the few 'gone-wrongs'. |
One way or the other we all want to be happy,I know I want to be happy always. The question really is how do we find happiness? Is it in your career? Do u see it in the eyes of that special person? Do u look for it in religion? It remains a universal question as every human is in that continuous pursuit of happiness, consciously or unconsciously;whether its the love of money and material things or the delight in helping others. Happiness is an outward expression of our inner thoughts, desires and aspirations. The all important thing to note is that what we have inside controls the outcome of whatever situation we find ourselves in.......Some, endlessly search for happiness without ever truly tasting it,while some have all the ingredients to build a really happy place but never really appreciate it. Show that you care,be a blessing to those in need, build your hopes on the things that really matter, live a life full of purpose and meaning and above all; dare to be unique rather than different. Finally, the pursuit of happiness isn't the lotto, but surely wealth can buy happiness, albeit a sustained feeling of happiness can only be gotten when the faces around you constantly beam a genuine smile at you;tell me you are not happy when you see a little baby smile! |
There are so many definitions for the word 'wild',some of them are; 1)Living in a state of nature;not tamed or domesticated 2)Undisciplined,unlawful,lawless 3)Disregarding of moral restraints as to pleasurable indulgence What is a Church? A church is the body of christ, consisting of those who have been saved. An in depth study of the book of Acts shows us that the Church was bought by the blood of Jesus(therefore no man can lay claim to the Church of God). As we know that Jesus owns the Church,he set the template by which the church should be run, with his lifestyle, actions and teachings. This could be seen in everything he did;simplicity, love, generosity, sacrifice, humility, equality, compassion, etc. In fact,Jesus Christ was so much in unity with his disciples, he couldn't be differentiated from them(they all looked alike). This was evident at the time of his capture as Judas Iscariot had to kiss him before he could be discovered. The disciples who started the first church were called 'christians',meaning Christ-like. The early church epitomized all of the qualities of Jesus(Acts4:32-37). From the passage,it is clear that the christians had everything in common,to the extent that they shared all their properties in church;no one was poor and nobody lacked. Every human being is born of the world and driven by the flesh. Jesus knew this and that is why he sent the Holyspirit(the tamer of the flesh) to his disciples. As christians,we are still human with the innate desire to lose control(go wild) but Jesus, through the holyspirit regulates our excesses and orders our path. This also applies to the church,as the holyspirit helps govern the affairs of the church, and the teachings of Jesus serves as manuscript. Many Nigerian churches today are still in the wild and are blinded by the riches of this world to the ailing needs of their neighbors. The wild portrays a 'survival of the fittest' scenario but the church should be-'everyone must survive'. Today though we find the church immersed in the confusion of the wild. In malachi 3:10,we see that the church should be a haven of abundance where no member should lack. In Nigeria,General Overseers of churches spend billions acquiring private jets, properties, gadgets, etc. While many of their members are impoverished. This is done all in the name of spreading the gospel. Jesus fed a multitude of 5000 with 5loaves and 2fishes,because he recognized a crucial need. He didn't in that same manner command a ship out of the sea for his private use in propagating the gospel(rather he traveled with fishermen). This is because he understood that the best way to spread the gospel was through our lifestyle, actions and simple acts of kindness, rather than 'transportation'. People came to seek Jesus from far and near, when they heard about the signs and wonders and the same happened with the disciples(Acts 5:16). Most General Overseers of Nigerian churches are more enthused by the status of owning Jets and universities(which do little to help members) than the intricate needs of their poor members. Evidently this puts them shoulder to shoulder with the corrupt politicians who place their insatiable lust for material things over the needs of the mass populace. The teachings of Jesus Christ show us that the primary assignment of a shepherd is his flock. The well being of each member is paramount and so,when one goes missing he leaves everything and goes in search of the lost one. Under this teaching, there is no place for jets when one of your members suffers hunger! It is now common for christians to be caught stealing, involved in fraud,corruption,etc....but this is because they have been left in the 'wild' by their pastors who themselves are confused in the 'wild'. Jesus taught simplicity,Love, sacrifice, humility, and therefore set the standard for churches and General overseers. It is safe to say these 'men' of God have missed it(mistakes characterize our humanity) and hero-worship will not help them realize this fact. Finally,do not question God,or the Holyspirit but question the actions of man! |
Thanks,I appreciate! And I hope u would be a part of it.... |
Some years ago,Martin Luther King stood in front of the whole American people and told them about his 'dream'. This was no ordinary dream but rather a bureau of ideas and vision conceptualized in the mind of a man, driven by his will to build a better place. This passion led to the realization of a new Dream-'The United States of America';where the blacks began to exercise some of their social rights(even though with caution). His actions, morals and words inspired a nation from a state of irrational stagnancy into a future of diverse possibilities! The 'Blacks' where allowed to bring other talents other than their strength to the table, and this helped to propel the country into an era of dominance, not only economically but in other areas e.g. sports(where the blacks weren't allowed to participate in previous years). The 'dream' and believe of one man set the template, and alas in 2009 a Black American became President- the dream is now a reality! I have a dream-'Nigeria'.....I have a dream I can die for,a passion burning so deep it wakes me up every morning. I believe in the countless array of talents present in the country and the abundance of resources God has blessed us with. I see hope amidst all the misery and I'm adamant Nigeria can reach the peak of greatness. I have a dream that one day young Nigerian men and women would hear the clarion call and take up the mantle of leadership by the strength of their thoughts and rejuvenation of their hearts. I have a dream, that one day a man will be judged by the intelligence of his mind and fruitfulness of his hands rather than his accent/language or the wealth he has managed to amass. I have a dream that one day, leaders would understand the responsibility of the oaths they have sworn and extol the colors of our nation. I believe that one day we all, will come to the realization that the future is in our hands and the change starts with us;right there in our little homes, schools, church, mosque, marriage, relationships and inter-relationship,etc. I have a dream and its not Vision2020....its in our immediate future, present now,in the hearts of those who BELIEVE,in the eyes of those who SEE,in the mouths of those who cry with PASSION and we breathe it everywhere we go because we are the PATRIOTIC Nigerian! Therefore I urge you my Brothers,my Sisters;PASS on the message,REVISIT your expectation,ENLIST your voice,FOLLOW the progress- PROJECT GREEN!!! If you are a truly patriotic Nigerian, help pass this on(rally the troops), and follow @ProjectGreen_NG. |

happy too
