If you’re looking for a budget-friendly phone that still gives you that premium feel, the Infinix Hot 60 Pro Plus and Tecno Spark 40 Pro Plus are two hot picks right now.
Both rock a stunning 6.78-inch AMOLED display, a silky 144Hz refresh rate, and crisp 1.5K resolution.
But here’s where the Infinix edges ahead, its sleek 3D curved design and Gorilla Glass protection just make it feel more high-end in your hand.
Performance-wise, they’re neck and neck with the Helio G200 chip, 8GB RAM, and Android 15.
So, whether you’re gaming or multitasking, both can keep up.
Cameras? Both have 50MP rears and 13MP fronts, but Infinix uses a Sony sensor, so your shots will look sharper and more vibrant.
Battery life is close, with Tecno’s 5200mAh just slightly bigger than Infinix’s 5160mAh.
But the Infinix makes up for it with 45W fast charging, meaning less waiting, more doing.
Bottom line? Tecno wins on endurance, but Infinix gives you style, speed, and sharper photos.
Which side are you on? Drop your pick in the comments and let’s settle this debate!
The Infinix Hot 60 Pro and the Tecno Spark 40 Pro are the two phones everyone’s talking about this July… and honestly, both are strong contenders depending on what you value most in a phone.
💥 Using the Hot 60 Pro feels smooth.
Whether I’m gaming, scrolling endlessly on TikTok, or replying to emails, it doesn’t lag.
The display also hits different in sunlight, super clear, super bold.
And that slim design? Very easy to carry around without feeling bulky.
But the Spark 40 Pro brings that sound.
Watching movies or vibing to music with the Dolby speakers makes it feel like you’re holding a mini cinema.
Battery life also stretches a bit more, great for long content binges.
Both phones come with the basics locked in: they’re water resistant, run Android 15, have NFC, and come with in-display fingerprint sensors.
You’re not missing out on essentials either way.
So here’s my honest take:
If you want something sleek that moves fast and handles your daily hustle, go Hot 60 Pro.
If your phone is mostly for fun, media, and chill vibes, Spark 40 Pro might be your vibe.
Either way, you’re getting value. Just depends on your lifestyle.
What about you? Which side are you on? Let’s talk in the comments👇

Cofficial: TECNO Launches Spark 40 Series in Nigeria
TECNO Mobile has reaffirmed its commitment to Nigerian consumers with the release of the new Spark 40 Series, a smartphone line that balances affordability with advanced features designed specifically for the Nigerian lifestyle.
Speaking to The PUNCH, TECNO’s Marketing Manager, Olumide Yomi-Omolayo, emphasised the brand’s dedication to innovation that aligns with local needs:
“As a brand, we believe in the Nigerian story, cultural relevance, and usage stays at the top of our minds. We produce devices that Nigerians ask for with every variable considered in the Nigerian market. It’s not just a strategy; it’s because we care.”
Designed for Nigerian Lifestyles
The TECNO Spark 40 Series has been built with features that integrate seamlessly into Nigerians’ daily routines.
5200mAh battery – ensures all-day power for students, professionals, and business owners. Helio G200 chip – delivers smooth performance for banking apps, streaming movies, gaming, and online classes.
16GB RAM + 256GB storage – allows users to save photos, music, and files without constantly deleting data.
This is good for budget friendly and all, but tecno still has the top spot in performance
Khay2: The smartphone market in Nigeria keeps expanding, and users now have so many options depending on budget and preference. Popular names like Samsung, Xiaomi, Tecno, and Infinix are already established, but newer players are also trying to make their mark.
One brand that has been pushing recently is realme. They’ve launched models like the Note 50, C61, C75, C75x, and most recently the C71. From what I’ve seen, they focus a lot on battery life, durability, decent performance, and fast charging in the budget–midrange segment. They’ve also started opening service centers in cities across the country, like Lagos, Kano and Port Harcourt, which is good for after-sales support.
That being said, every brand seems to have its strong and weak points, some focus more on cameras, others on design, gaming, or durability.
👉 So, I’m curious:
Which phone brands have impressed you the most recently?
Has anyone here tried realme devices, and how’s the experience compared to Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi, or Samsung?
What do you personally look out for first when buying a new phone?
if you're eyeing some solid budget smartphones under 150,000 naira that can handle your daily grind, the TECNO SPARK 40, Samsung Galaxy A07 and Xiaomi Redmi 15C are some of the fresh contenders that launched. They are entry-level 4G phones for people who need reliable telephone use like calling, browsing, social media, streaming and lightweight gaming as well.
SPARK 40
The TECNO SPARK 40 is the slimmest among these devices justat 7.7mm making it comfortable to hold compare to others. It boasts an impressive 45W fast charging which is rare to find in this price segment. Its 5200mAh battery can last up to 3 days just like a 6000mAh battery. Actually an average person needs not more than 5000mAh for a full day of use. What is more important is how well a battery an the OS is optimized.
Another great thing the SPARK 40 has over other is AI suite, powered by Ella assistant, includes AI Writing for drafting quick emails or notes, AI Translate for switching between Pidgin, Yoruba, or English on the fly, and AI noise reduction for clearer calls in noisy markets and AI problem solving. The Spark 40’s FreeLink technology lets you make calls or send messages up to 500m via Bluetooth to other Tecno devices, no internet or network needed. Imagine staying connected in rural areas or during network blackouts. This is a game-changer for Nigeria’s inconsistent network zones.
Galaxy A07
The Galaxy A07 is Samsung's cheapest 2025 phone so far, which costs N153,000. It is also powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 which is an advantage it has over every other phone here. However it has the weakest battery among them-5000mAh battery with a 25W fast charging- For camera, it has the 50MP main and the 8MP front is fine for selfies.
Redmi 15C
The Redmi 15C is a newly launched budget phone, a successor to the Redmi 14c but has attracted lot of criticism online, many say it no upgrade except for it battery. It also bulkier compared to it predecessor and what brand like TECNO is offering. Many were expecting at least that they Xiaomi will include AI on the phone, but it is what it is. It is powered by the Helio G81 just like the SPARK 40 but many reviewers complained that the HyperOS is sluggish and not as responsive as other devices. Looking at these 3 devices, the Tecno Spark 40 can easily pass as the best overall budget to buy- It is slim, it a good camera, good battery life, and the addition of AI is icing on the cake.
Longjontech: Customer: my budget is 200k which phone can I get with that budget that has good camera and battery 🔋 REPLY: with a budget of 200k you can get a nice budget friendly phone and also a low budget fairly used flagship phone BRAND NEW PHONES TO GET WITH THAT BUDGET. Tecno spark 40pro Redmi 15c Samsung a07 Etc.. FAIRLY USED PHONES WITH THAT PRICE RANGE. iPhone XR, iPhone xsmax, iPhone 11 series ( good camera but no good battery) Samsung S10,S10+ ( good camera but no good battery) Google Pixel 6 Etc...
ADVISE: increase your budget a little and make sure you buy from a verified phone vendor..
Y'all should always get ur tecno device from their official slots

Whats spark 10 doing there when there's the beast spark 40
StellaGirlie: One thing I’ve noticed about phone users especially in Nigeria is that everyone has a story about how their phone “used to be perfect” until one day, it just started misbehaving. Overheating. Sudden battery drain. Sluggish performance. Or the classic, a cracked screen that costs almost as much as the phone itself. Every brand claims durability, but when you strip away the marketing, how many truly last beyond the first year without visible decline? That’s what I’ve been thinking about lately and not repairs this time, but longevity. Why do some phones age gracefully, while others start giving attitude after just a few months?
Let’s start with the big names. iPhones are often praised for lasting several years, but that usually comes at a cost which is expensive repairs and, updates that sometimes make older models feel slower. Samsung has the premium build and display quality, but their flagship screens and parts can be ridiculously expensive to replace, and midrange models don’t always share the same durability. Then you have the value-driven players like Infinix, Tecno, realme, Redmi, and OPPO... brands that focus on affordability and practical specs. Some people say they last just as long, others say they age faster because of software optimization and component quality. But in Nigeria’s conditions constant heat, unstable electricity, frequent charging, and dusty environments, these “budget” phones often surprise you. Some users have used a Tecno or Redmi for 3 years with minimal issues, while others have seen high-end devices give up earlier.
So maybe the real question isn’t “which brand is better,” but what makes a phone truly last? Is it the build quality? The software updates? The way the owner uses and maintains it? Or could it be that modern smartphones are designed with an invisible expiry date...? That subtle point where performance starts to decline just enough to make you consider upgrading?
I’m curious to hear from real users, not marketers: 👉 Which phone brand has stood the test of time for you? 👉 Which one looked promising at first but didn’t age well? 👉 And in your experience, does paying more actually guarantee a longer-lasting phone or is it just hype? Let’s be honest and share real experiences. Because in today’s phone market, durability might just be the biggest illusion we’ve all learned to accept.
Tecno is the leading phone , the rest just follows
Shawn29: The Nigerian smartphone market is filled with well-known budget and mid-range brands like Infinix, Tecno, Itel, and Redmi/Xiaomi. But in the past few years, realme has started making a name for itself in this same space.
With many Nigerians looking for phones that offer value without breaking the bank, it’s worth asking:
Which of these brands is truly delivering the best experience in 2025?
Here’s a quick look at how they compare based on general user feedback and trends:
🔹 Tecno & Infinix (Transsion)
Known for affordability, large batteries, and camera-focused marketing.
Software (HiOS/XOS) may lag behind others in terms of optimization.
Updates are rare, and performance tends to slow down over time.
🔹 Redmi/Xiaomi
Great value-for-money hardware.
MIUI is packed with features but may feel heavy or bloated to some users.
Software updates are more regular than Transsion brands.
Known to overheat on some entry-level models.
🔹 realme
Newer in the Nigerian market but well-established globally.
Clean and light UI (realme UI), good performance at competitive prices.
Regular updates and a growing lineup of mid-range and budget options.
Availability and servicing across most areas.
Other Points Worth Considering:
Build Quality: All brands now offer more premium finishes even in affordable models.
Charging & Battery: realme and Redmi are pushing fast charging, but Tecno and Infinix also deliver solid battery life.
Longevity: Xiaomi and realme tend to last longer performance-wise, especially with updates.
Each brand has its strengths, and choosing the right one often depends on your personal needs — whether it's price, camera, gaming, or long-term use.
However, looking at recent trends, realme appears to be quietly setting a new standard like the ip69 ratings, in the mid-range segment balancing clean software, solid performance, and competitive features. If they continue to improve their availability and after-sales support in Nigeria, they just might outpace the rest.
Still, the final decision rests with the user and everyone’s experience matters.
Let’s hear from you:
Which of these brands have you used recently?
Based on your personal experience, which one delivers the best value?
What matters more to you: specs on paper or long-term performance?
Let’s hear honest opinions from everyone, both fans and critics of each brand, and lets keep it objective.
Let’s settle this real quick, Tecno Pova 7 vs Infinix HOT 60 Pro.

🔋 Tecno Pova 7 – Built for the Marathoners
You know those people who are glued to their phones? Yeah, if that’s you, calls, YouTube, TikTok, gaming, rinse & repeat, the Pova 7 is your perfect match.
7000mAh battery — no jokes, this thing runs and runs like it forgot what "low battery" means.
108MP rear camera — your photos? Sharp. Detailed. Brag-worthy.
For who? Heavy users, gamers, content consumers, and anyone tired of babysitting their charger.
Real talk: If you're the type who forgets where your charger even is sometimes, this is your phone.
⚡ Infinix HOT 60 Pro – Speed Meets Style
Now let’s switch gears. If you're all about performance + sleek vibes, the HOT 60 Pro is bringing the heat:
Tecno has more features and better performance, so yea definitely
DannyEze: A lot of comments for or against a particular brand. The thing is that all of them are really good for the specs they have.
But I've been a fan of TECNO for sometimes now, so I'll choose their latest Phones over the rest mentioned here. Especially the Camon 40 Series or Spark 40 series.

Honestly it depends on ur budget, sure, the c75 is cheaper, but that camon 40 was still the beat bet for me cause i know it has better performance
bibistar07: 2025 has been fire for midrange smartphone drops in Nigeria, and two names are getting the most attention:
realme C75x, and; Tecno Spark 40.
All of them promise killer features for under-flagship prices. But we all know, on paper no be real life. So, which one is actually worth your hard-earned money?
Let’s break them down:
🔰 realme C75x
IP69 water & dust resistance (very rare at this price!)
MIL-STD drop-tested + ArmorShell design
5310mAh battery + 45W fast charging
50MP AI main cam, 120Hz HD+ display, Helio G81 Ultra
Android 15 + realme UI 6.0
Fun extras: SonicWave speaker (pushes water out), “Circle to Search” AI feature
🔰 Tecno Spark 40
120Hz LCD, 8+256GB with memory fusion
5200mAh + 45W fast charging
50MP main camera + DTS stereo speakers
Helio G81, HiOS 15.1 (Android 15)
FreeLink voice feature (call without signal, any working feedback?)
💬 Now to you guys: Who’s actually using one of these 2 already?
Can anyone confirm if C75x is really as rugged as it claims?
Spark 40: Is the camera quality there or still mid?
For those that game: which one handles heat & lag better?
Battery life in real life, who’s lasting longer?
Don’t just go off specs, we need the Nigeria experience.
Drop your screenshots, photos, hot takes, and regrets. Let’s compare these phones where it really matters: in your hand!
It so convenient how its all water resistant, getting the camon 40 was the best choice for me
IheomaAkparanta: Water-resistant phones have become increasingly popular in recent years, and it's easy to see why. With the IP69 rating becoming a standard feature in many flagship and mid-range devices, phone manufacturers are prioritizing durability and water resistance. But what exactly does IP69 mean, and which phones are leading the charge?
Understanding IP Ratings
IP stands for Ingress Protection, a rating system that measures a device's resistance to solid particles (dust) and water. The rating consists of two numbers: the first digit represents dust protection, while the second digit represents water resistance. For instance, IP68-rated phones can withstand submersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. However, it's essential to note that IP ratings apply to freshwater in controlled lab conditions, and saltwater, chlorinated water, or high-pressure water can still damage devices.
Every brand in Nigeria right now is doing their best to incorporate water resistance into their devices. Phones like the Tecno Spark 40, realmeC75 & C75X, the Samsung S25, you name it. The least waterproof rating on any newly released phone in Nigeria now is the IP54 and the highest is the IP69. It's fun to see phone adverts including intentionally dropping phone in water, freezing phones, putting phones under running water and all sorts of weird water tests to prove how resistant to water these phones are. Like how did we get here?
Benefits of Water-Resistant Phones
Water-resistant phones offer several benefits, including: - Increased Durability: With water resistance, phones can withstand accidental splashes, rain, or brief submersion in water. - Peace of Mind: Water-resistant phones provide users with confidence in their device's ability to withstand unexpected water exposure. - Enhanced Camera Capabilities: Water-resistant phones enable users to capture photos and videos in wet conditions or underwater.
The rise of water-resistant phones has revolutionized the mobile industry, offering users increased durability and peace of mind. With top brands like Apple, Samsung, realme, Tecno and other popular brands incorporating water resistance into their devices, it's clear that this feature is here to stay. Whether you're an avid photographer or an outdoor enthusiast, water-resistant phones are definitely worth considering. So tell me would you be getting a water resistant device? Does the water resistant trend appeal to you?
Let’s settle this real quick, Tecno Pova 7 vs Infinix HOT 60 Pro.
Let’s talk real-life use, which one actually fits your lifestyle?
🔋 Tecno Pova 7 – Built for the Marathoners
You know those people who are glued to their phones? Yeah, if that’s you, calls, YouTube, TikTok, gaming, rinse & repeat, the Pova 7 is your perfect match.
7000mAh battery — no jokes, this thing runs and runs like it forgot what "low battery" means.

Ionno about the other two, but I'll recommend the camon 40pro to anyone, its literally not lacking in anyway from camera to its special features
Shawn29: Budget phones are no longer just about basic use anymore. In 2025, even devices under ₦200k or within the range are packing features like fast charging, high-refresh-rate screens, and large memory. Right now, three popular models are trending on the market:
So If you had to choose between the Tecno Spark 40 Pro, the Infinix Hot 60, or the realme C75x — which would you rather use?
Let’s break them down based on what actually matters day-to-day.
Battery & Charging
The Spark 40 Pro carries 5200mAh and Hot 60 carry a 5160mAh battery.
realme C75x steps slightly ahead with a 5330mAh capacity.
While the Hot 60, Spark 40 Pro and C75x has faster 45W charging, realme’s 45W SUPERVOOC tech is proven and stable — known for safe and efficient charging.
For someone who’s on the move a lot, the Realme C75 quietly offers more endurance and charging safety.
Display & Design
Spark 40 Pro gives you a 6.78" LCD at 120Hz.
Hot 60 pushes it up to 6.82", also 120Hz.
realme C75x offers a 6.72" screen at 120Hz, but with much better clarity and edge-to-edge visuals.
Performance & User Experience
Tecno and Infinix are both rocking MediaTek G-series chips — Helio G88 and G91 Ultra respectively while the realme C75x uses the Snapdragon 680.
Now if you know tech, you already understand Snapdragon chips age better and are more efficient. Less heat, smoother background app management, and fewer slowdowns over time. It also plays nicer with updates.
All three come with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage, so you’re covered for apps and photos. But in terms of real-world usage — like switching between apps, battery efficiency, and long-term performance — Snapdragon has a track record of staying stable over time.
realme UI also runs lighter than HiOS and XOS, meaning less lag and fewer background ads.
Camera
All three have a 50MP AI rear cameras, but the Spark 40 Pro and Hot 60 have strong selfie shooters (32MP each) which is great for those who love snapping selfies or video calling, then the realme C75x opts for an 8MP front cam, but compensates with better post-processing and stabilization in low light — something noticeable when you’re indoors or at night.
Durability & IP Rating
This is one of the areas where differences really start to show.
Tecno Spark 40 Pro – IP64 rated: Protected against dust and light water splashes
Infinix Hot 60 – IP64 rated as well: Fair enough for daily spills and dust
realme C75x – IP69 rated: That’s top-tier resistance, meaning it can handle heavy water splashes, dust, and even pressure from short water jets — something you don’t usually get in this price range
For you clumsy lots who falls their phones or just occasional kitchen/table accidents, the C75x stands out for being rugged. It quietly gives peace of mind that most budget phones skip over.
Here’s how the starting prices compare for the three models:
Tecno Spark 40 Pro – ₦221,000
Infinix Hot 60 – ₦223,000
realme C75x – ₦180,000
Sometimes it’s not about loud specs. It’s about how the phone actually behaves after 6 months of use. And on that note... I know where I’m leaning. Do you?
So, which one would you rather use? Let’s hear your choice!
Recently got the camon 40pro and honestly its everything
Desewa08: For years I was team “Buy used flagship”. Why? Because: – You get better cameras – Faster processors – Bragging rights (let’s be honest 😅) But those used phones? Battery is often weak. No warranty. Sometimes they’ve been opened or refurbished without your knowledge. So I tried something different this time: bought a new budget phone instead... the realme C75x. Why I Chose It Over a Used Flagship: I almost went for a used Galaxy S20 FE or iPhone SE 2020 but I thought: “Why not try something new, with warranty, that’s built for 2025?” The C75x gave me: – 8GB RAM – 128GB ROM – Android 15 – 120Hz display – IP69 water & dust protection – Massive 5600mAh battery – Fast charge (0-100% in 90 mins) And most importantly… I don’t need to worry about battery health or whether it was used in 4 countries before it reached me 😭. The Cold Truth About Used Flagships is I’ve owned used flagships before and while they shine in some areas (especially camera), here’s the honest truth: • Battery never lasts like new • Heating issues are common • No software updates after a while • Repairs? Good luck finding the right part or original screen And let’s not forget that water splash or drop can be the end if it's already compromised. Just wanted to share my experience because I think budget phones are finally catching up. If you’ve used the C75x or any other budget device recently that shocked you in a good way... share your experience in the comments
Well everyone has their personal preference on whats important to them in a smartphone, but theres no feeling like the Brand new phone
