Education / 5 Effective Ways To Read And Remember Everything by dolapobase20: 4:52pm On May 30, 2017
Have you ever wondered why this happens? A lot of students who fail examinations have reported they do read but forget everything they read which is why I have decided to write this article. Trust me, if you can follow this article to the end and put the guidelines into action, your retentive power will surely increase.

1. READ TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND
Your mindset when reading speaks on whether you will remember or forget what you are reading. A question you should ask is, “What should my mindset be while reading? “.

The answer to this question is the key to unlock your hidden power of remembrance. Your aim of reading should be to gain knowledge. You may want to ask, “Am I not aiming to gain knowledge while reading? Of course you are!. But, you are gaining knowledge only to pass examination!

Many reader who are yet to discover their hidden power of remembrance have the mindset of reading in order to pass their examination which makes them to cram rather than understand the content of the book. As a result, they forget everything they read immediately after the examination which has led to a common saying among students when you ask them questions, “I was taught last term/session, I have forgotten”.

READ Check Out KWASU Official Cut off Mark For 2017/18 Academic Session
“Therefore, change your mindset while reading. Read to gain knowledge, make sure you understand the concept of what you are reading and don’t just read to pass an examination”

2. DO NOT SKIP A SENTENCE
Students regard some of the information in a book as “story” and decide to skip them. This is common especially when reading for examination. Before you can understand and remember what you read, just have to read enough.

The secret is, “The more you read, the more you understand and the more you remember” . You cannot read four sentences and expect to know five. So, neglect the belief of regarding some of the content of a book as story because
there are hidden secrets in every sentence!

3. WRITE IT DOWN
Research has proven that writing down what you are reading helps you to remember more. After reading for several minutes, try to write down everything you have read without looking at it(Writing it in your own word is allowed). This will help you to know the part you don’t understand, so you can go over it again. This is a very effective method which I have been using for quite a long time and I am sure it will work for you!.

The students were expected to elect their leader but ethno-religious argument led to its postponement.
In a press statement by Major Joseph Adekunle Afolasade, assistant director Army public relations, the army denies that student were not brutalised in their efforts to restore peace at the institution.
A soldier was allegedly rough handled by the students which led to severe injury on the head
The statement read in full:
“The attention of Headquarters 33 Brigade Nigerian Army, Bauchi, has been drawn to an online publication on Linda Ikeji’s Blog posted earlier today, 25th May 2017 alleging that soldiers brutalized students of College of Education Kangere, Bauchi State.
“This is not true as no soldier brutalized any student of the institution as alleged. The story is complete distortion of facts and what transpired at the school all aimed evading justice by those involved.
“Headquarters 33 Brigade wishes to state clearly that, our officers and soldiers are professionals that conduct themselves responsibly in the discharge of their duties. Therefore, it is pertinent to set the records straight to avoid creating erroneous impression in the minds of good people of our country.
“This morning, the attention of the soldiers located about 300 metres away from College of Education Kangere, was drawn to a public disturbance and protest which turned violent by some students of the College which led to blockade of the busy Bauchi-Gombe Federal Highway.
“The rampaging students and hoodlums that joined them in their hundreds from the school and the neighbouring community continued with their violent protest and blocking of the road unabated.
“The protest and the students actions was as a result of the postponement of the Election of new set of Executive Committee of the Students Union Government at the College of Education, Kangere

“The Platoon Commander in charge of the troops quickly informed the Police of what was happening. But before the Police could arrive, the angry Students blocked the road, burnt tyres on the road and had used dangerous weapons on some of their colleagues.

“The injure soldier had to peacefully disperse the hoodlums without firing a shot contrary to reports by the Social Media platform. The soldiers went out of their way to quench the borne fire and subsequently opened the blocked road for free movement of both human and vehicular traffic.
“It is pertinent to note that the alleged injured students were wounded by some of his unruly colleagues in the school. We wish to reiterate that the reported wounded students were injured in the school premises during election process before the arrival of the soldiers.
“No student was injured during the dispersal of the students outside the school premises where the crowd dispersal took place. Rather, it is regrettable to state that one of soldiers was injured by the protestants who threw stones at him while clearing the road.
“Please note also that the Police patrol team arrived the scene after the soldiers had opened the road for free passage of motorists.
“We wish to state that the ring leader of the protestants was identified and arrested along with 31 other suspects by the military who were handed over to the Police.
“The Injure soldier action was just and did not contravene any law in aid of the civil authorities to avert breakdown of law and order. As a matter of fact, the timely intervention and conduct of the soldiers deserve commendation not false and mischievous allegations.

Education / Top Universities In Nigeria That You Can Secure 2017 Admission With Low Score by dolapobase20: 11:47pm On May 25, 2017
Many students applying for 2017 UTME would like to apply for admission to a university where they stand a chance of being admitted.
Top Universities in Nigeria that You Can Secure 2017 Admission Without Stress
Top Universities in Nigeria that You Can Secure 2017 Admission with low score

From our observations so far, most candidates who apply for admission into over-competitive institutions like UNILORIN, UNILAG, UNIBEN, UNN etc. end up not gaining admission.

Due to this fact, we advise applicant not to put this Institutions during their UTME registration. WHY? So, that they might not lose their chance of admission courtesy of this competition.

Based on last year’s statistics remark, below are the list of schools that are less competitive (meaning they do not have a high number of applications);

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University
Modibo Adamawa University of Technology
Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State
Federal University, Lokoja
Federal University, Gashua, Yobe State
Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State
Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State
Federal University Of Petroleum Resources, Effurun
Federal University, Kashere
Federal University, Wukari
Federal University, Oye-Ekiti
Federal University, Birnin-Kebbi
Federal University, Lafia

I hope your school is listed in it too
Education / Check Out The Alternatives For Candidate That Failed 2017 JAMB by dolapobase20: 11:34pm On May 25, 2017
Since the UTME examinations began, the spotlights has always been on those that passed, while everyone has kept mute on those who didn't reach the cutoff mark. Well, I have come with probable solutions to their plight as unknown to them and others, there are very credible alternatives.
Here I am talking of the best route to follow so that in the next one year or thereabout, there will not be differences between those who use the 2017 jamb to gain admission and others who failed the exam. For the sake of assumptions, I want to believe that those who failed, didn't prepare very well for the exam, or the technical hitch which is absolutely the jamb fault caused the failure.

Did you fail JAMB? do you feel the zeal catch up with your mates who passed the exam (if they get admitted)? Then this is for you, as you have a perfect alternative to make everything and everyone even. Stay with me. This is a step you have to take to be on the same level with your equals.

Best Alternative To Those Who Failed 2017 JAMB.

1. Cambridge A Level. Cambridge A level is one of the best alternative for you to give a trial. So, if you really want to stay on the same level has your mates, Cambridge A Level is one of your arrest saving grace. Not to also mention that it is accepted by ALL universities in Nigeria. When you pass Cambridge by next year you don't have to write jamb again before you gain admission into your university of choice and this time, into 200 level.
Average cost: On an average, the program costs N400,000. This includes hostel, accommodation and examination fees will covered.
To those who wants to to find more information on cambridge alevel should go to www.cambridgenigeria.com.ng

2. Jupeb. Jupeb was established by some universities around 2012. Major universities in Nigeria accept the result into 200 level. Also both advanced Studies centres and some universities run the programme. The programme is about nine months before the examination that takes place around June annually.
Cost: Average cost of JUPEB is #270,000. More information and how to register can be found at : www.alevels.com.ng

3. IJMB. Though popular, we'd still break it down. IJMB is somewhat similar to the Jupeb program. Just that in this case, the programme is being supervised by ABU. It would be important to make it clear that all private, state and federal universities accept IJMB. Popular universities like Unilorin, Unical, UniBen accept the result, and guess what, it's straight to200 level. Just like Jupeb, you can study any course with IJMB. Average cost: of ijmb is around 180k.
More information about ijmb can be found about ijmb at different websites, but you can find more information at www.ijmbway.com
