Silentgroper: Which handball .. 😏😏😏
Did you not see after many replays there was no contact.. if there was, it would have impacted the ball .. . It's basic physics.. How was that not an handball habamanna! That you support a club does not mean that you should not call out obvious truths. If an Arsenal player had made such handball, I would be glad the referee did not make a call but I will call a spade a spade. Let's not allow bias blind our objectivity

Orlandoo: It has been long since Nigerian club made it to the advanced stage of the CAF competition. I fondly remember the days of Enyimba. Both Remo stars and Rivers United have qualified to the next preliminary round of the CAF champions league. I hope they qualify for group stages, something Nigerian teams have not achieved in a while. Nigeria really needs to invest in sports development especially in the domestic level. The raw talents are out there but not enough resources or facilities to develop them. |
Sports › Kwara United, Aba Warriors Crash Out Of CAF Confederation Cup by dominique(mod): 8:53am On Sep 29, 2025*. Modified: 1:38pm On Sep 29, 2025 |
The two Nigerian representatives in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup have been eliminated.
Abia Warriors were pipped 1-0 by Djoliba FC for a 2-1 aggregate defeat to seal their exit from the competition on Sunday.
Kwara United also fell 1-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, their makeshift home ground, to Asante Kotoko of Ghana. The 5-3 aggregate loss sent them out of CAF CC.
Warriors and United’s exit means there will be no Nigerian club in the group stage of the second-tier continental competition this season.
However, Rivers United have advanced into the final preliminary round of the CAF Champions League (CAFCL) following a 1-0 win over Les Aigles of Congo DR in the second leg of their first round preliminary tie at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo on Sunday.
The lone goal scoreline sealed a 1-0 aggregate victory for Rivers United following a goalless first leg last weekend, with coach Finidi George’s side one step away from the group stage of the lucrative CAFCL.
Stephen Manyo scored the only goal of the second-leg encounter in the deep added time of the first half. The defender reacted quickest to slot home the rebound after Les Aigles’ goalkeeper spilled a routine free-kick.
The goal proved to be the match-winner of the cagey encounter, which had few chances, as River United saw out the match for a win that sees the Pride of Rivers join Remo Stars in the final qualifying round. They will face the winner of the tie between AC Léopards of Congo and Black Bulls of Mozambique.
RESULTS Rivers United (0) 1-0 (0) Les Aigles (Rivers United win the two-legged tie 1-0 on aggregate)
Kwara United (3) 0-1 (4) Asante Kotoko (Asante Kotoko win the two-legged tie 5-3 on aggregate)
Djoliba FC (1) 1-0 (0) Abia Warriors (Djoliba win the two-legged tie 2-1 on aggregate) https://www.thecable.ng/all-nigerian-teams-crash-out-of-caf-confederation-cup/

The line up is not exactly what we anticipated but I expect them to deliver. I still firmly believe Martinelli and Trossard should be brought in in the 2nd half, they make more impact as super subs

Tiwa really disappointed. As an African, she should be educating them about how multicultural Africa is and how Americans need to be more accepting of other countries cultural identities. Americans really need to get over themselves and respect other people's cultures. If the word coloured is an offensive word to them, it is a racial identity for millions of south Africans. What's so hard in accepting that? |

I have a feeling a redemption arc is around the corner for man utd. Even if they're not playing to win any trophy or make top 4, they should at least try and pity this their fan that has vowed not to cut his hair until man utd wins 5 straight games. Going to a year now and baba is starting to look like a character out of a sci-fi horror movie
