iamoyindamola: He really want the move This may be the last chance to play in top flight I hope the arsenal move works out for him. He should have learnt from the Osimhen Vs Napoli saga, going against your team executives can lead to disastrous consequences. His team is not going back on the £100 million pounds transfer fees and no club would want to pay that for a player that's untested with big teams. |

iamoyindamola: Bye Thomas Partey, I am still surprised how they let his contract linger so long to this level, that's unlike arsenal I guess they never plan on improving his wages and hope he accepts their offer
He will be greatly missed Baba was earning 200k per week, earning more than the likes of Saka, Saliba and other players that put their mind body and soul into the team and are are not as injury prone. According to AFTV channel on YouTube, Arsenal wanted to renew his contract on the same salary but his agent was pushing for more and the board didn't bend. Word on the streets says that he's in his way to turkey, that's the only league in Europe that can give him the wages he's looking for. I wish him well, at least he left on a very good note. |

Spy360: He is 27. Any club he joins now we most likely use him until he becomes a free agent. So it's not like they would want to make money off him.
Chelsea will sign João Pedro from Brighton for 60m. Overlooking Gyokeres again If Arsenal wants to be serious with winning trophies this season, they need a ready striker with enough experience, he fits the bill. Besides Arsenal never really buys players to make profit off their resales. Take a look at the picture Iamoyindamola and see the highest the team has ever sold a player. We need an experienced striker and Gyökeres is a risk we should be willing to take. Chelsea was never really in the race for Gyökeres, and it was Arsenal, Man Utd and Juventus at the forefront but juventus stepped aside when when they saw they couldn't afford the sign on fees sporting wants to collect. The boy has repeatedly said Arsenal was his priority, do you thinks clubs will be rushing to sign a player who has clearly stated his preference? Congrats to Chelsea for signing their mid players from mid/bottom table clubs. All the best to them next season |

Spy360: For me the CF must not be the most prolific in the team. This is as long as he allows other to score too.
I prefer a team that scores high than a player that scores high.
I remember when we had Aubameyang who used to finish as top scorer yet we don't even make it to top four.
But under Arteta, our players hardly score up to double figures but yet we are amongst the highest scoring team in the league. That's what I love about the team and why it has fared this well without a central forward. Spy360: Have you wondered why other clubs are not chasing Gyokeres? That's despite his 50+ goals a season wonder The price tag on him is chasing a lot of managements away, they feel it's very risky to spend that much on a player that has never played for a big team, his age is also a factor. The way he's handling the buyout dispute between sporting Lisbon and his agents is painting him in a very negative light, no team would want to have a problematic player on their hands. It's giving Osimhen Vs Napoli all over again, he might just end up getting loaned out to a lesser league like Osimhen |

Sports › One Million Empty Seats At FIFA Club World Cup Group Stage (photos) by dominique(mod): 12:43pm On Jun 29, 2025 |
After a group stage played in front of more than one million empty seats, the Club World Cup moves on to the knockout rounds that could soon resemble a Champions League clone.
Nine teams that advanced to the round of 16 are from Europe along with four from Brazil and one each from Major League Soccer, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.
About 56.7 per cent of publicly listed capacity was filled for the 48 group stage matches, which included crowds of 3,412 and 6,730 in Orlando, Florida; 5,282 and 8,239 in Cincinnati.
Fans There were plenty of empty seats for this match in Pasadena. (EPA PHOTO) FIFA did not provide specific capacities for the tournament despite repeated requests from The Associated Press.
Total announced attendance was 1.67 million from 2.95 million capacity, an average of 34,746.
Just 44.9 per cent was filled for five matches at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the site of next year's World Cup final, and 50 per cent at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, where the 1994 championship game was played.
Among other 2026 sites, 81.8 per cent of capacity was filled in Miami Gardens, Florida, 61.6 per cent in Philadelphia, 52 per cent in Seattle and 44.3 per cent in Atlanta.
FIFA spokesman Bryan Swanson did not respond to a request for FIFA President Gianni Infantino to discuss the tournament and attendance.
A handful of fans wave Fluminense fans flags during their clash against Mamelodi Sundowns in Miami. (AP PHOTO) FIFA issued a statement that said: "The appetite of the tournament speaks for itself: fans from 168 countries have already purchased tickets ... a clear sign of global anticipation and reach."
The 12 games televised with English commentary on TNT, TBS and truTV averaged 360,000 viewers through Monday, including 409,000 for seven matches on nights and weekends.
The second round opens Saturday with an all-Brazilian matchup of Palmeiras and Botafogo, followed by Chelsea-Benfica later in the day.
Sunday starts with the high-profile meeting of Inter Miami and Lionel Messi against European champions Paris Saint-Germain and is followed by Bayern Munich-Flamengo.
Inter Milan-Fluminese and Manchester City-Al Hilal are on Monday, and Real Madrid-Juventus and Borussia Dortmund-Monterrey on Tuesday.
European teams won 16 of the 17 previous editions of an eight-team Club World Cup, the lone exception a 2012 victory by Brazil's Corinthians over Chelsea.
Five of the 12 stadiums being used are sites for next year's World Cup, which will have 104 matches instead of 64 and many more games lacking prestigious teams and players.
There were five weather delays in the Club World Cup group stage and temperatures at times rose well over 90 degrees (32 Celsius), a sign that climate change could impact next year's World Cup. However, four of the stadiums for next year's tournament have roofs and climate control. Source: Yahoo SportsAdditional Image sources: BBC & ESPN
