grandstar:
If OPEC does its job, there will be no problem.

If member states decide to cut production to offset the increase in Iranian production, it will create an equilibrium.

Unless if Saudi Arabia refuses to cooperate so as to bankrupt US shale producers
That means Nigeria will still cut her production which means less in quantity to supple hence low revenue from the oil sector. Which ever way you look at it the game is about to change and the outlook is not in our favour. Something need to be done urgently. PMB should team up with Israel lobby the congress to discard the deal.

One thing I have come to understand about Nigeria importers is that they are very heartless and wicked, especially the Igbos, that's why am praying an Igbo man should never rule this country (no offence to Igbos, it just my opinion). Now this is my observation, 90% of imported things in Nigeria (electronics and gadgets, household equipment, building materials, office equipment, most clothing, so many things) are imported from China and if I remember correctly the Chinese govt earlier this year part ways with using Dollars as her primary trading currency, instead they now use Chinese yen so to build purchasing power of the yen, though use of dollars in Chinese trade is still very much welcome. so how does dollars rate to Naira concern importers not petroleum importers mind u, these people milk Nigerians at any giving opportunity, they will tag it dat dollars is now high and whereas most of them don't even use dollars in their trade, what they simply do is travel down there and do a wired transaction. I have a friend whose dad import A.C from China, after he analyze everything to me it turns out importers can still make millions if they even sell an A.C (2 horse power for 30k) and a 32 inches Plasma for 20k but greed won't allow an igbo man do the right thing. God save this country cause the problem is just too much for one president to handle
Your economy is almost in a comatose state and u are blaming it on Igbo importers. You are indirectly agreeing to the Igbo saying that they dictate the economy of Nigeria if the scenario you described above is the truth.

All this while I have read many threads where "forumites" are quick to tell us that anybody that betrays Tinubu just finished his political career. Example of such are Ribadu and lately Saraki, Tambuwal and Dogaro.

Today I read another thread where it was alleged that PMB betrayed Tinubu going by his lact of stand on what is going on within their party.

What will happen to PMB second term bid if actually he betrayed Tinubu? Is his political career finished like others that did same?
How come I did not read such lines in the thread?
Politics / Re: Tinubu Assembles New Team To Battle Buhari Administration by doncaster(m): 11:26am On Jul 10, 2015
So PMB betrayed Jagbajan. In other words PMB is a betrayer and his political carrier is finished just like Saraki and Tambuwal who did the same to BAT.

How come I have not read that line?

Politics / Re: Why Is President Buhari Afraid To Probe Former President Jonathan? by doncaster(m): 1:15pm On Jul 06, 2015
Orikinla:
President Muhammadu Buhari said former President Goodluck Jonathan would not be probed? How can you accuse an incumbent President of corruption during your presidential election campaign and after you have defeated him in the presidential election and sworn in as the new President, you now refuse to probe his corrupt administration? It is like accusing your rival of being a thief in public and then after the man has been disgraced, you turn around to say he would not be asked for the things he stole. Are you afraid of the consequences of your allegations? Even heaven knows that former President Goodluck Jonathan's administration was corrupt. Some of his ministers and cronies have ill gotten riches they cannot account for. Why are you afraid to probe his corrupt government? Are you afraid of the complicity of the leaders of your ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) that is now more of a political merger of old members of the APC and old members of the former ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who left to join the APC? So, realistically, your APC is no longer different from the PDP, because you have compromised your principles and now partners in crime with those you once accused of corruption? Of course, if you are partaker of stolen property, you are an accomplice. If you watch an armed robber rob someone of a car and later gives you a ride with the stolen car to get to your destination, you are not innocent. If armed robbers are your best allies and they invest and sponsor your business venture, are you innocent of their crimes? That is why hundreds of thousands of the unfortunate victims of Boko Haram are suffering and dying as refugees and IDPs and you don't have the conscience to ask former President Goodluck Jonathan what his administration had done with more than N60 billion raised last year for the victims of Boko Haram? Where is the money? If President Buhari has no balls to probe former President Jonathan, the electorate who elected him will be disappointed and feel deceived by his anti-corruption presidential campaign slogans. This is not our Nigerian Dream.

you are shouting Nigerians are gullible when you yourself don't have the correct information...no report said two weeks time,it said the refineries will start working this month, july...you will only be right to cry foul when we get to the month of August.

Nigeria’s four refineries are set to roll back to life in July, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has said.

Ohi Alegbe, the spokesperson for the NNPC told PREMIUM TIMES on Saturday that the ongoing phased maintenance of the refineries was nearing completion and that the facilities would soon commence production.

“I think by July, the four refineries should begin to work,” Mr. Alegbe said.

He said the two refineries in Port Harcourt are scheduled to begin to receive crude next week while those in Warri and Port Harcourt would follow shortly after.

Mr. Alegbe said the turnaround maintenance of the refineries, which he said began in November 2014, was being undertaken by NNPC’s in-house engineers.

“We had to resort to in-house engineers after the original builders of the refineries, who were called in to do the job, kept coming up with outrageous bills,” he said.

He said parts of the problems with the Port Harcourt refineries had to do with lack of electricity to power the facility.

“We have now installed a mini power plant to solve that problem,” the NNPC spokesperson said.

The return of the refineries will however not put an end to fuel importation in the country.

Mr. Alegbe said even when the four refineries operate at full capacity, they would only be able to cumulatively refine 19 million litres of petrol per day.

Nigeria, he said, consumes 40 litres of petrol per day.

“As you can see, that leaves us with a balance of 21 litres per day, and we will still have to rely on importation to make up for that deficit,” Mr. Alegbe said.

Nigeria has for years depend on importation for its entire energy needs

Politics / Nigerian Refinaries And The Two Weeks Time. by doncaster(m): 9:04pm On Jul 03, 2015
On the 18th of last month I read an article here and in some of the dailies that Warri and PH refinery will start work in two weeks time. It gone past two weeks from the date of the publication instead of the refineries to start churning out refined petrol for our filling stations to sell to us but what we have now is petrol garages selling petrol at above stipulated price. What went wrong and who is confusing who?

The pdp supporters had argued that it was the legacy of Jona and as such he (Jona) should take the credit and APC supporters argued against that the refineries did not break down, they only started work due to the fear of PMB hammer falling on them.

Now it seems both camp was used since no refinery is working after two weeks of the news.

Why are Nigerians so gullible even when being used.
