Truth is, we are in a country where law enforcement agents rather than guide / prevent you from making an avoidable error…they’ll push you to making the error and have you negotiating payment for something they should have prevented.
This our country has a way of creating small demons all over to frustrate Nigerians.
We go continue to dey OVERCOME dem.
I needed to make this enquiries, make one police officer or any law enforcement officer no come use me shine

Is this a Tokunbo car? If yes, you need the following:
1. Vehicle license
2. Third part insurance
3. Proof of ownership
4. Road worthiness certificate
5. Allocation of plate number receipt (not really necessary but we have idiots in police uniform)
6. ECMR or whatever new name they call it these days (computerised motor registry, again not necessary as vehicle license should have covered this).
7. Tinted permit if your vehicle has one (again not necessary as the IG has scrapped this but you will still find stupid police officers who have not heard the directive. However, if you fixed the tint yourself, you are on your own).

If bought second hand, you will still need all the above (in your own name reflecting your new number plate) but will now need the following extra
1. Change of ownership
2. Police clearance and extract
3. If it's tinted, get new tintd permits or retain that of the previous owner and also his/her old proof of ownership.

As a first time car owner in Lagos, what are the must have documents or car papers to enable one drive around town conveniently around town and without harassment from police or any other road inspection officer
