nairalanda1: Before I continue, I am not here to defend or support tinubu...let's get that clear. I'm here to show you why Nigeria is the way it is. You can hear me, understand me, and sitll say your hero is better than their hero. But whatever you do, do not call me a supporter of any politican.
Crude oil is above 100 dollars per barrel, infact, it is rising
The problem is, from March 2014 to february ending 2015, crude has ranged between 20-80 dollars per barrel (except for brief periods when oil prices were above 100 dollars per barrel in 2021-2, and in 2025. )>
So, in order to keep things running, Nigeria borrowed money.
Any oil windfall has to pay off the debts we incurred in the lean years, and thus no cash for subsidy no more.
That is why APC is a failure, they promised in 2015, that they would diversify government earnings from oil. They didnt do that, and that is why there is no money for fuel subsidy, and why electricity subsidy money has not been paid since 2014.
Thank you for listening to my ted x talk. You sound like one well educated but you made a single mistake from the go by saying this administration did the best thing by removing our sweat into its pocket. No sane Nigerian in this pain will ever accept your take. Foe where... Thanks for your time sha |

nairalanda1: Well, you don';t have to agree with me, or believe me, but what I have told you is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I am not here to convince you to vote for tinubu or that tinubu is a good leader, or that GEJ was good or bad...I am just here to tell you why nigeria is the way it is, and what we need to do to improve it.
You can accept all I say or reject it, and still support your hero. As for me, I no send our leaders or the oppostion, or even sowore, and his ilk. Na the same people to me. If removing subsidy now by Tinubu is the best move, what has he done with it after the removal? How has it improved our economy after the removal? And why is he borrowing and doing so at the fastest rate than ever after the removal? Where is the borrowing helping the economy as well? |
Politics › Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by donmik: 3:11pm On Mar 28 |
nairalanda1: Subsidy had to go because the cost to our economy was excessive
Buhari was literally borrowing and printing money to pay for subsides. Because oil revenues had been low since 2014 due to falling oil prices and falling production. That led to the situation in August 2022 where debt servicing was eating 97% of revenue
Had subsidy not been removed in 2023, by now things would have been ten times worse than they are now.
There are good reasons why the subsidy had to go. It was seen since 1993. So, I look like someone you can enlighten politically and economically... Continue to dwell in sentimental analysis while praying to japa with any given chance |

Now, imagine BREAKING your back as a man to make money to RAISE and FEED the product of another man's JIZZ while simultaneously subsidizing the lifestyle of a WORHE.
You'll be taking responsibility for 2 or MORE people that you have ZERO business dealing with.
In fact as it stands right now, DNA Tests should be taught as a significant part of Financial Planning and Literacy.

[quote author=nairalanda1 post=138907819]Buhari inherited an economy that was already failing in quote for several months.
In 2014, March, oil prices started falling. People who had seen the same story before in 1982, began nodding their heads like agama agama. By January 2015, NOI was prophesying that the economy would be bad, regardless of who won.
So, yes GEJ handed over a bad economy to buhari. Na high oil price he dey use to hide the cracks.
The problem with Buhari and tinubu is that instead of using hard times to shine, dem come dey do borrow borrow to maintain what we had when oil prices were high, because the sane decisions they needed to take to pull us out of danger, they no take because they preferred to be in power rather than do the hard decisions to leave Nigeria a good leagacy
All of our leaders are the
Buahri and Tinubu came to steal and get richer than the former PDP leaders. " It's my turn to steal more than anyone"
That's why they keep borrowing and sharing
As if that's not enough, they removed the only thing all Nigerians benefit from and pocket it. That's the subsidy |

The boot will soon be on the ground. But it will come from people who want to go to Iran and not be forced. Their rewards will be promotion and other special packages and benefits.
America has the money and manpower, and Iran is not a match with Israel alongside.
Iran was just fortunate to be on a better geographical location, which was highly favored in this war with the closing of the Strait of Hormuz.
They needed boots on the ground with heavy tanks and air superiority support. Head straight to those underground mountains and destroy all their missiles and weapons hidden underneath them.
